Sidhwani clarified that his forthcoming film, co-produced by Farhan Akhtar under their production house Excel Entertainment, is a story based on true events, not a biopic.<br />

&quot;It is not a biopic. It is a completely fictional story but it is set against a real backdrop between 1933-48 India about what the country was, the sports... About hockey. It is not based on any character,&quot; Sidhwani told PTI in an interview here.<br />

<p>The Indian film industry on Monday&nbsp;mourned the death of actor Shashi Kapoor, as friends and admirers -- led by Lata Mangeshkar, Shyam Benegal and Aamir Khan -- recalled his passion for cinema, while paying homage to a man known for his easy charm and good nature.<br />

The Indian film industry on Monday mourned the death of actor Shashi Kapoor, as friends and admirers -- led by Lata Mangeshkar, Shyam Benegal and Aamir Khan -- recalled his passion for cinema, while paying homage to a man known for his easy charm and good nature. IFFI 2017: When Amitabh Bachchan was left embarrassed by Akshay Kumar

'Toilet: Ek Prem Katha' crosses 100 crore mark

<p>Akshay Kumar&#39;s &ldquo;Toilet: Ek Prem Katha&rdquo; had an opening of Rs 13.10 crore on Friday (August 11), considerably lower than that of &ldquo;Jab Harry Met Sejal&rdquo;, which opened at Rs. 15.5 crores.</p>

<p>However, the film grossed Rs 17.10 crore on Saturday, according to movie critic and film trade analyst Taran Adarsh, bringing the total to Rs 30.20 crore.</p>

Bollywood star Akshay Kumar won his first National Film Award for his role in court room drama "Rustom", inspired by the 1959 Nanavati case, while Marathi film "Kaasav" was named the best picture today. Akshay played the role a patriotic naval officer in the movie, who ends up in jail after killing his wife's lover. <p>The story is about an ambitious lawyer from Lucknow, the capital of the state of Uttar Pradesh in India, and his tussle with a seasoned player in the same profession. Needless to say, the plot revolves around a case, and quite a common one in India.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As the story isn&#39;t complicated, it gave ample space for execution and thus rightly fits the scheme of things.</p>

<p><strong>Direction: 4/5</strong></p>

<p>There are two parts of this movie that make you swoon over it, one of them is the&nbsp;direction. The devil is in the details and Subhash Kapoor knows that well.&nbsp;</p>

<p>He kept the movie compact and even sprinkled a bit of Kashmir and a bit of patriotism, without missing on tiny details. Approximation to real life courts added to the authenticity of the scenarios.</p>

<p><strong>Acting: 4/5</strong></p>

<p>Akshay Kumar did justice to the film in his own sort of uptight funny manner and definitely upped the ante by adding star power to Jolly LLB sequel. Annu Kapoor is marvellous. You need to watch him to believe it.</p>

<p>Saurabh Shukla seems to have perfected the art of being a Judge and that too an entertaining one. There wasn&#39;t much for Huma Qureshi in this film so there isn&#39;t much to say about her performance.</p>

<p>Movie&rsquo;s music blends with its overall light-hearted spirit. With the festival of colour round the corner, it is good to have a peppy Holi song by Manj Musik and Raftaar.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Meet Brothers version of Jolly Good Fellow will get your foot tapping and Bawara Mann, as a romantic number, is quite apt for the month of love.</p>
