Apart from Ranveer Singh, Sara Ali Khan, Sonu Sood and director Rohit Shetty, other members of the cast were also seen at the party. The party also saw Ranveer's wife, Deepika Padukone, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn and his wife Kajol in attendance. Both Devgn and Kumar have cameos in the film. Kunal Khemmu was also seen at the bash. <p>A delegation of Bollywood producers and actors such as Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn and Karan Johar Tuesday called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was on a one-day visit to Maharashtra, at Raj Bhavan here to discuss the issues being faced by the Indian film industry.<br />

The delegation also included prominent film producers such as Ritesh Sidhwani, Siddharth Roy Kapur, the president of the Film Producers Guild, Rakesh Roshan, Ronnie Screwvala, Vijay Singh - CEO - Fox Star Studios and Prasoon Joshi, the chairman of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) along with Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis.&nbsp;<br />
<br />
The team from the film fraternity gave an overview of the vast growth potential of the media and entertainment industry. They also pitched for lower and uniform rates of GST for the entertainment industry in India, a statement issued by PIB said.<br />
<br />
The Prime Minister said that the Indian entertainment industry enjoys immense popularity across the world. It is one of the key elements of India's rising soft power status, globally, he added.<br />
<br />
He assured the delegation that the Union Government is supportive of the media and entertainment industry; and would consider the suggestions positively.<br />

In a tweet later, Modi said, "Had an extensive and fruitful interaction with a delegation from the film and entertainment industry. The delegation spoke about the studies being made by the film and entertainment industry, and gave valuable inputs relating to GST for their sector."</p>

<p>Sidhwani, according to the industry sources, urged the prime minister to look towards treating cinema as an "industry" by acknowledging its contribution to the nation's exchequer and fiscal growth, and in promoting bilateral ties between nations as a global cultural ambassador.<br />

"It was a collaborative effort to come forward, address issues and seek solutions from the Prime Minister directly," the insiders said, adding that the PM "acknowledged that our films are being recognised internationally and agreed that filmmakers are no less important than nation-builders".<br />
<br />
"He has assured the delegation that he will personally work towards setting up a special committee to look into the industry matters and address them urgently," sources said, adding that it was a "productive meeting with a positive outcome."<br />
<br />
The prime minister is on a day's visit to Maharashtra in which he will launch infrastructure and housing projects worth about Rs 41,000 crore in the state.&nbsp;</p>

A delegation of Bollywood producers and actors such as Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn and Karan Johar Tuesday called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was on a one-day visit to Maharashtra, at Raj Bhavan here to discuss the issues being faced by the Indian film industry. The delegation also included prominent film producers such as Ritesh Sidhwani, Siddharth Roy Kapur, the president of the Film Producers Guild, Rakesh Roshan, Ronnie Screwvala, Vijay Singh - CEO - Fox Star Studios and Prasoon Joshi, the chairman of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) along with Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis. The team from the film fraternity gave an overview of the vast growth potential of the media and entertainment industry. They also pitched for lower and uniform rates of GST for the entertainment industry in India, a statement issued by PIB said. The Prime Minister said that the Indian entertainment industry enjoys immense popularity across the world. It is one of the key elements of India's rising soft power status, globally, he added. He assured the delegation that the Union Government is supportive of the media and entertainment industry; and would consider the suggestions positively. "It was a collaborative effort to come forward, address issues and seek solutions from the Prime Minister directly," the insiders said, adding that the PM "acknowledged that our films are being recognised internationally and agreed that filmmakers are no less important than nation-builders". "He has assured the delegation that he will personally work towards setting up a special committee to look into the industry matters and address them urgently," sources said, adding that it was a "productive meeting with a positive outcome." The prime minister is on a day's visit to Maharashtra in which he will launch infrastructure and housing projects worth about Rs 41,000 crore in the state.

<p>Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar&nbsp;starrer&nbsp;2.0 is dominating the box office. The film has had the 7th best opening of 2018.</p>

<p>The Hindi dubbed version of the movie opened at Rs 20.25 crore which may not put the box office on fire but the movie is putting up respectable numbers as per early estimates.</p>

<p>Before the release, 2.0 was touted to be the one that will break the records of Bahubali 2 (Hindi) &nbsp;and Akshay Kumar's own Gold which had opened to north of Rs 25 Crore.</p>

<p>While the movie opened on a good note, it was no way record breaking.</p>

<p>Forget Gold and Bahubali 2, 2.0 even failed to beat the opening day collections of films like Race 3, Padmaavat and even Thugs of Hindostan.</p>

Director Shankar, in an interview to a news agency, has revealed that Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzenegger was his first choice for the antagonist's role. "We had thought of casting Arnold. We had talked and allotted dates also. But somehow things did not work out as the contracts of Hollywood and India are contradictory. So we thought of looking at a good cast from the Indian film industry," Shankar said at a press conference in Mumbai. The director said Lyca (producers of 2.0) and Akshay were in talks for a remake of a film called 'Kathi' in Hindi. "Everyone told me to consider Akshay and I also thought it would be nice. I narrated the story to him and he said yes," the director said. Shankar is confident that the film would connect with everyone as it has an international theme. The technology, he said, was better than the previous film and it was the reason they decided to title the film '2.0'. Rajinikanth will be back in the role of 'Chitti' in the second instalment of the mega-hit 'Robot', which is slated to be released on November 29.

<p>According to a report published in Mumbai-based daily, a US-based filmmaker Radha Bharadwaj has filed a lawsuit to halt production of the film as she claims it has been borrowed from her script. She has also called out Atul Kasbekar for sharing her screenplay with cast member Vidya Balan without her approval.</p>

<p>According to the report, Radha has alleged that ‘Mission Mangal’ infringes on the copyright of her original screenplay that she had shared with Atul in 2016. She has claimed that Atul’s studio Ellipsis Entertainment shared the script with Vidya, who happens to be a part of the film.</p>

<p>Apparently, Radha had registered the script with the US Copyright Office in 2016 for the US and Indian market and has completed shooting of her film, ‘Space MOMs’. The film revolves around the women engineers working on the mission, which sort of hints at the number of women who are part of the cast of ‘Mission Mangal’.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Radha’s lawyer Srishti Ojha had revealed to the daily that she had come in contact with Atul’s studio regarding the film in 2016 and the firm had even signed a non-disclosure agreement.</p>

Rajinikanth's '2.0' gets record-breaking advance booking; earns a whopping Rs 120 crore

<p>Akshay Kumar was in&nbsp;Chandigarh and appeared before a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing police firing on mobs protesting the 2015 incidents of desecration of Guru Granth Sahib in Punjab.</p>

<p>The Bollywood actor had an option of appearing in Chandigarh for the case instead of Amritsar. He was earlier summoned to Amritsar circuit house on November 21 by the Punjab Police. &nbsp;SIT member and Inspector General of Police Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh had said on Tuesday, “We have given him (Akshay Kumar) the freedom to appear here (in Chandigarh).”</p>

<p>Akshay was called by the SIT as his name is listed in the Justice Ranjit Singh Commission report on the desecration incidents. The actor has thus denied arranging any meeting between former deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal and Dera Sacha Sauda sect head Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, as is being alleged.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The trailer of superstar Rajinikanth’s forthcoming multilingual science-fiction action drama <a href="http://www.wionews.com/entertainment/rajinikanth-starrer-20-new-posters-out-promises-to-stun-audience-164297">“2.0”</a>&nbsp;came out yesterday and it has been touted as the most expensive Indian project ever.</p>

<p>The grand total of the blockbuster film is a whopping US $75 million or Rs 543 crore.</p>

<p>The first ever Indian film to be completely made using 3D cameras had created a huge excitement among fans ever since it was announced.</p>

<p>A sequel to Shankar’s 2010 blockbuster “Enthiran”, the film has been produced by Lyca Productions and is set to release on November 29.</p>

<p>“2.0” also stars Akshay Kumar, Amy Jackson, Adil Hussain and Sudhanshu Pandey in important roles.</p>

They pointed out that AMMA continues to defend Dilip despite growing protests among actresses in the Malayalam film industry. To this, AMMA secretary Siddiqui stated that exclusion of Dileep from AMMA was not a solution untill he was proven guilty. He stated that one shouldn't deny a person his profession based on mere accusations, reports a website. &nbsp;</p>

<p>“They wanted Dileep banned from movies. Who has the rights to deny a person his profession based on allegations?” asked Siddiqui as he addressed the press at a conference held on Monday by AMMA.&nbsp;<br />

"People are offended and they want justice. What it is happening is good and it gives you a sense that something is happening. You are removing someone (from the job) and it is a big deal. When he was asked on whether he was aware of Sajid Khan's behaviour towards women on the sets of 'Humshakals', the actor said, "I don't remember anything like this happening genuinely because if it would have happened I would not have been comfortable in that environment or allowed it to happen in front of me."&nbsp;</p>

<p>"I would hate an atmosphere where women are being looked down upon or mistreated in any way. I don't think that's how an atmosphere should be," he added.</p>

<p>Actresses Bipasha Basu and Esha Gupta recently opened up about director Sajid Khan's 'rude' behaviour towards women on the sets of the 2014 film.&nbsp;</p>
