<p>To bolster the #WhyTheGap initiative, celebrities like Akshay Kumar, Taapsee Pannu and Sonam Kapoor are narrating their childhood privileges which many kids living on the streets are lacking.</p>

<p>From bidding for a proper meal to good education, these actors are lending support to NGO `Save the Children India` which says it has changed over 10.1 million lives since 2008.</p>

<p>Basking in the success of his latest release `Mission Mangal`, it was a trip down the memory lane for Akshay who pinned a picture from his childhood on Instagram where he is seen seated on a bicycle. In the post, he detailed how he had access to proper meals since he was inclined towards sports.</p>

<p>"Growing up I was always inclined towards sports and my mother would ensure I got nutritious home-cooked meals to fuel my passion. But it`s a privilege that millions of street children do not have access to. 11,72,604 children in India can`t afford even a single meal a day! It`s time to ask #WhyTheGap with @savethechildren_india," he wrote.</p>

<p>And to spread the word, he nominated his `Mission Mangal` co-actors Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu, Nithya Menon, and Kirti Kulhari.</p>

<p>Following the line was Taapsee, who also highlighted her athletic side and shared how she always had a support system with her which many children don`t have. "Sports have been an integral part of my life. School race tracks became my war zone every year and thanks to a supportive family and encouraging school teachers I could have my moment of glory. Unfortunately, many kids don`t have that support system #WhyTheGap @stc_india," she wrote.</p>

<p>The latest joinee of the movement became `Aisha` actor Sonam Kapoor who emphasised the need for education since that is "one path true to independence and freedom." "We should all be asking #WhyTheGap and working towards #TheRightStart for every child," Sonam tweeted.</p>

<p>As John Abraham and Akshay Kumar gear up to lock horns this Independence Day, John had something very interesting to say about their filmy clash. Giving a call back to his famous song with Akshay in a film they did together, he said, "Make some noise for the desi boys" from the film ‘Desi Boyz’.&nbsp;</p>

<p>He then added, "Honestly, if there was a controversy, I would have loved to create it, but Akshay and I are very dear friends, we really get along. In fact, just the other day we texted each other. There is absolutely nothing there. <p>The fight is not just between these two but even Prabhas starrer ‘Saaho’ will come out on the same day. On the choice that the audience has to make, John said, "There is enough space. We are giving the audience a lot of options to choose from. I can say that my film is good and I hope the other two films are good too."</p>

<p>John and Akshay have a long-standing friendship and have done several films together like ‘Garam Masala’, ‘desi Boyz’, ‘Housefull 2’ and then Dishoom’.&nbsp;</p>

<p>John also spoke about the makers choosing to release a film on a particular holiday as he said, "I think a holiday always gives you a bigger opening and I think it is very important to release a film on a good day. You can release it on a vanilla weekend also but it depends on the genre. Our release is very specific to independence day. It's a great day for us. We are releasing Batla House this year, we may release another sequel of mine next Independence Day."</p>

<p>When asked if he is concerned about the division of business between the three films, he said, "It doesn't concern me about the other two films but it concerns me about my film. We have done the math and we still want to release on this day. More importantly, it is not overconfidence. I have a lot of respect for every other film, I am very confident that Nikhil has made a fantastic film. So, we are coming on a good day."</p>

<p>The three films reek of patriotism and will hit the theatres on August 15. <p>A week after stepping down as the director of Akshay Kumar-fronted 'Laxmmi Bomb'&nbsp;over "disrespect" and creative differences, Raghava Lawrence says he will reconsider coming on board the project if he is given the respect he deserves.</p>

<p>The director, who was set to helm the Hindi remake of 2011 Tamil horror comedy 'Kanchana', announced his departure from the project on Twitter.</p>

<p>Lawrence said there were "multiple reasons" for his exit, one of them being the first look poster which was released without any discussions with him.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In his latest statement he shared Saturday, Lawrence said the producers of the film are set to meet him and the matter is completely in their hands.</p>

<p>"... The producers are coming to Chennai to meet me. It's completely in their hands now, if I'm given proper self-respect for my job, then I'll think about it. Let's see after the meeting. Wanted to share this message to all the fans who were genuinely concerned."</p>

<p>The star cast wrapped up shooting for the film on November 20, last year but reunited today to shoot for a new song, also featuring Nawazuddin.</p>

I have never hidden or denied that I hold a Canadian passport. It is also equally true that I have not visited Canada in the last seven years. I work in India, and pay all my taxes in India."</p>

<p>"While all these years, I have never needed to prove my love for India to anyone, I find it disappointing that my citizenship issue is constantly dragged into needless controversy, a matter that is personal, legal, non-political, and of no consequences to others."</p>

<p>He further added, "Lastly, I would like to continue contributing in my small way to the causes that I believe in and make India stronger and stronger."</p>

He's called the Khiladi for a reason, and with this show, he will be seen pulling off stunts on a level that has only been attempted on an international level."&nbsp;</p>

As of now, the show will span across three years - each season having around six episodes (depending on the run-time of each episode).
