Her 'Mission Mangal' co-star Akshay Kumar too sent his best wishes for the launch.
"India's second space mission to the moon, Chandrayaan-2 is led by two women scientists of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), a first in India's history. Sending my best to the rocket women and ISRO team, more power to you," Akshay tweeted on Sunday.
While India is gearing up for Chandrayaan 2, Sonakshi and Akshay are all set to feature in 'Mission Mangal', a film based on true events of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully launching the Mars Orbiter Mission (Mangalyaan) on 5 November 2013, making it the least expensive mission to Mars.
The film, will also feature Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Sharman Joshi, Nithya Menen, Kirti Kulhari and HR Dattatrey in pivotal roles and is scheduled to release on August 15.
Ahead of India's most ambitious space mission, Sonakshi and Akshay hailed the "spacewoman" who worked behind the grand project on Twitter.
