<p>With the Winter Session of the Indian Parliament coming to an end soon, lawmakers of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the opposition INDIA bloc held protests, leading to a scuffle in which two BJP MPs were injured and had to be rushed to the hospital.</p>
<p>The injured BJP MPs were identified as Pratap Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput. A report by the news agency ANI said that Sarangi and Rajput were admitted to New Delhi's Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital.</p>
<p>Hospital officials said that both the MPs suffered head injuries and were taken to the intensive care unit (ICU).</p>
<p>This incident triggered a war of words between the BJP and the Congress, with the former alleging that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi pushed Sarangi during the protest. Techie claims 'Old IIT' tag gave him $65k per annum package, sparks debate online

<p>Fugitive businessman Vijay Mallya claimed on Wednesday (Dec 18) that more than double the amount that Kingfisher was owing in the case involving its airlines has been recovered by the banks. </p></p>
<p>Mallya claimed that he was entitled to relief a day after India's Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman informed the Parliament that Rs 141.31 billion (Rs 14131.6 crore) was recovered from Mallya by the banks. </p>
<p>The recovery was made in the Kingfisher Airlines debt, which was estimated to be Rs 62.03 billion by a tribunal.</p>
<p>Taking to X, Mallya said, "The Debt Recovery Tribunal adjudged the KFA (Kingfisher Airlines) debt at Rs 6203 crores, including Rs 1200 crores of interest. The FM announced in Parliament that through the ED, Banks have recovered Rs 14,131.60 crores from me against the judgement debt of Rs 6203 crores, and I am still an economic offender. Unless the ED and Banks can legally justify how they have taken more than two times the debt, I am entitled to the relief which I will pursue."</p>
<p>"Whatever I have stated about my liabilities as guarantor of KFA loans is legally verifiable. Yet more than Rs 8000 crores have been recovered from me over and above the judgment debt. Will anyone, including those who freely abuse me, stand up and question this blatant injustice? To be seen to support a much maligned me requires guts. <p>Rajya Sabha's Deputy Chairman Harivansh on Thursday (Dec 19) dismissed the impeachment notice given by Indian opposition lawmakers seeking the removal of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, the news agency PTI reported citing sources.</p>
<p>Harivansh ruled the impeachment notice as an act of impropriety, being severely flawed and drawn in haste to mar Dhankhar's reputation. Apart from being the Vice President, Dhankar is also the ex-officio chairman of the Rajya Sabha.</p>
<p>PTI reported that in his ruling, Harivansh said that the impeachment notice was part of a design to denigrate the nation's constitutional institutions and malign the incumbent vice president.</p>
<h2><strong>'Notice is a misadventure...'</strong></h2>
<p>Harivansh further ruled that the gravity of this "personally targeted" notice is bereft of facts and aimed at securing publicity.</p>

<p>Amid the brawl, BJP MP Pratap Sarangi was injured while another MP, Mukesh Rajput, suffered head injuries and his BP shot up. As per reports, both the MPs are going through tests and CT scans at the RML Hospital in New Delhi.</p>
<h2>How did the controversy start?</h2>
<p>The controversy broke out over Union Home Minister Amit Shah's remark on Ambedkar after the home minister, during a debate in Rajya Sabha, stated, "<em>Abhi ek fashion ho gaya hai—Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar. Itna naam agar bhagwan ka lete to saat janmon tak swarg mil jata</em> (It has become a fashion to say Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar,  Ambedkar.) If they had taken God's name so many times, they would have got a place in heaven."</p>
<p>The Congress claimed that the remark was an insult to Ambedkar.</p>

<p>AQI showed a severe plus level out of the total 36 monitoring stations. The pollution levels had been recorded as severe and hazardous on Wednesday, with the air quality index shooting up to 448 at 6 pm. </p>
<p>Readings have been exceeding 480 at several monitoring stations, which is creating a condition extremely dangerous for the citizens.</p>
<p>Regions like Anand Vihar, Bawana, Burari, Dwarka, ITO, Jahangirpuri, North Campus DU, etc., had been listed as having severe plus levels of air quality. </p>
<p>Whereas the AQI recorded on Tuesday was 433 at 4 pm and 379 on Monday. The days ahead were covered with shallow fog throughout the city and some regions in the outskirts.</p>

<p>Acting on the complaint lodged by the BJP, the Delhi Police on Thursday registered an FIR against Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, in connection with a scuffle at Parliament that caused injuries to two MPs who had to be hospitalised.</p>

<p>As per reports, an FIR under section 117 (voluntary causing grievous hurt), 125 (act of endangering life or personal safety of others), 131 (use of criminal force), 351 (criminal intimidation) and 3(5) (common intention) of the BNS was registered at Parliament Street Police station.</p>
