The late actress' youngest sister Madhur Brij Bhushan has announced that a biopic will be made on the actress.

An official statement for the film and the cast will be made later. Without revealing any name, Bhushan said the biopic will be produced by her "dear friends".

"I am going in for a biopic on my sister, which will be produced by my very dear friends, very soon. It`s my humble request to all the well-wishers of Madhubala and whosoever is connected with Bollywood or elsewhere to please not attempt a biopic or anything else based on my sister`s life without my permission," Bhushan said in a statement.

She added: "The details will be known to her fans and to all concerned when the right time comes. So, please try to avoid any kind of unpleasant situation."

Bhushan is has been thinking about a biopic on her illustrious sister`s life ever since a wax statue was unveiled last year, at Madame Tussauds museum in Delhi.

"A number of people from Bollywood and otherwise have approached Bhushan repeatedly over the past few years to acquire the rights to make a film on Madhubala`s life. But she has always been clear that full justice should be done to her sister`s life and that`s why a film should be made in a beautiful manner. She thinks this is the right time to go ahead with it," a source said.

The director and the actors have not been decided yet, the sources added. The details will officially&nbsp;be out by the end of the year.

"Bhushan won`t be directing the film for sure. Only the top names are going to be involved with the film," the source added.

Popularly known as `The Venus of Indian Cinema` and `The Beauty with Tragedy`, Madhubala is known for cinematic jewels like "Mughal-e-Azam", "Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi", "Haathi Mere Saathi" and "Mahal" among many others.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday said Union minister Giriraj Singh's meeting with the jailed Bajrang Dal activists in Nawada district was "not acceptable" and made it clear that his government would not tolerate any attempts to disturb communal harmony in the state.

Although there was no official word on the matter from the BJP, Kumar's alliance partner in the state, to which Singh also belongs, a couple of leaders from the party adopted a stance at variance with that of the chief minister.

Singh, who represents Nawada in the Lok Sabha, had on Saturday called on the jailed activists, one of whom was arrested recently in connection with a communal flare-up that took place last year, and the remaining were held while trying to enforce a bandh in protest.

His visit to the Bajrang Dal activists in the jail came close on the heels of Union minister Jayant Sinha felicitating eight convicts in the Ramgarh lynching case after they came out of prison on bail in Jharkhand.

The firebrand BJP leader had told reporters yesterday at the house of one of the jailed Bajrang Dal activist that he saw the arrests as an "attempt to suppress the Hindus", even when the other side was at fault and remarked that he "felt helpless" at not being able to do anything in this regard though his party was in the ruling coalition in the state.

When asked about the episode, Kumar said, "This was not acceptable. One may have an opinion about anything and may express it at a proper place. But an open display of sympathy for those whom the administration has found guilty on some counts is not proper. If someone appears to have been wrongly arrested, one should move the court against it."

The chief minister was flanked by Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi when he was interacting with media on the sidelines of his weekly public interaction programme 'Lok Samvad'.

Asked about Singh's remarks with allegedly communal overtones, Kumar said, "There are many attempts in today's society to disturb social harmony. People have given up decorum in speech. But our government has always been committed to maintaining communal harmony and no attempts to disturb the same will be encouraged or even tolerated."

Yesterday, soon after the national executive meeting of Kumar's JD(U) held in New Delhi, the party's national secretary general K C Tyagi had also reportedly criticised Singh's action.

Meanwhile, when asked about the JD(U)'s displeasure over the episode, BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra said at a press conference here, "In a democracy, everybody has a right to ask questions.....Elected representatives, those who are in public life, do have to meet many people."

Patra, however, evaded a direct reply to queries about Singh's allegation that the arrests were wrongful and aimed at "suppressing the Hindus", saying "law will take its own course. Nobody is above the law.....We work with the sole mantra - sabka saath sabka vikas".

The BJP spokesperson also trained his guns at the opposition RJD-Congress combine, pointing out that many Congress leaders met Lalu Prasad "with bouquets" even after the RJD supremo was convicted in many cases and that the RJD chief himself maintained close relations and remained in regular touch with jailed don-turned-politician Mohd Shahabuddin.

BJP MLC Sanjay Paswan told some regional news channels, separately, "Kumar is our highly respectable leader. But it has been a problem with the socialists that they do not rise above the politics of appeasement".&nbsp;

Nitish Kumar disapproves Giriraj's meeting Bajrang Dal activists; BJP differs

According to reports, the Indian government has decided to give relaxation to the visa provision that will now enable spouses of the Indian nationals, getting married abroad, to easily convert their tourist visa to dependent visa.&nbsp;

"We are doing away with the particular rule and simplifying it so that irrespective of the place of the wedding, the foreign spouse can convert their tourist visa to dependent visa," a senior Home Ministry official said.

At present, the Indian visa provision allows conversion from a tourist visa to X2 visa (dependent visa) only when the marriage takes place in India and gets registered within the validity of the present tourist visa.&nbsp;

The new visa rules will enable the conversion of tourist visa to X2 even if the marriage takes place on foreign soil.

The move came after the Philipino spouse of an Indian national, who married outside India, faced difficulties in converting her tourist visa to X2 (dependent visa). The husband had complained to Home Minister Rajnath Singh.

The the new rules shall not be applicable to the nationals of Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sudan and Iraq, as well as citizens of Pakistani origin and stateless persons.

Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir have killed a terrorist in an encounter in the forest area of Handwara in Kupwara district on Monday, police said.

One militant has been killed in the encounter so far, a police official said.

The encounter in a forest area of Handwara, in north Kashmir’s Kupwara, broke out late last night after security forces launched a cordon and search operation there following specific information about the presence of militants.

The operation is underway, the official said.

The UGC defended Jio Institute's inclusion on the grounds that it was selected under rules for greenfield institutions. According to officials, 11 such institutions had applied for the IoE tag and Jio was selected from among them.

The government granted "Institutions of Eminence" (IoEs) status to IIT-Delhi, IIT-Bombay and the Bengaluru-based Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in the public sector, and Manipal Academy of Higher Education, BITS Pilani and Jio Institute by Reliance Foundation in the private sector.

Kashmir: IPS officer's brother joins terror group Hizbul Mujahideen

In a bizarre incident, a woman in Uttar Pradesh reported getting triple talaq over a burn chappati. The 24-year-old woman lodged a complaint with the local police on Sunday stating that her husband exclaimed 'talaq' thrice and asked her to leave the house as the chappati she had prepared got burnt.

The woman also alleged that three days before divorcing her, the husband inflicted burn injuries on her using cigarettes. The woman got married a year ago.&nbsp;

The incident took place in Pahretha village of Mahoba district in Uttar Pradesh. The police will register a case of domestic violence against the husband.&nbsp;

The Triple Talaq Bill was cleared in the Parliament in December 2017.

Under the proposed law, instant divorce will be a non-bailable offence with a punishment of three years jail for guilty husbands.

The proposed law would only be applicable to instant triple talaq or 'talaq-e-biddat' and it would give power to the victim to approach a magistrate seeking "subsistence allowance" for herself and minor children.

The practice of triple talaq allows Muslim men to divorce their wives instantly by saying 'talaq' three consecutive times, either directly, via social media or even through a text message.

South Korean President Moon Jae-in on Monday said that Seoul will actively collaborate in India's 'Make in India'&nbspflagship initiative.

Speaking at the India-Korea business forum, organised by Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), President Moon said both India and South Korea are strong partners in the Information and Technology (IT) sector.

He further said that the two countries can expand their bilateral relations in other key fields such as shipbuilding, medical devices, food processing, and large-scale infrastructure.

On his new policy outreach 'New Southern Policy', President Moon emphasised, "My new southern policy is aligned with Prime Minister Modi's Act East Policy. Both the policies will come to completion when prosperity spreads across the whole of Asia. I suggest future-oriented cooperation with a 3P+ approach that goes beyond the 'New Southern Policy'&nbspof Korea that focuses on people, prosperity and peace.

"Combining the New Southern Policy with the Act East Policy will diversify our cooperative channels, thereby, establishing a starting point to become leading manufacturing countries," he added.

He invoked the historical links shared between India and South Korea in the ancient times. "India and Korea have a long-standing history of exchange you are a friend who helped us in time of need. India sent its medical units during the Korean War and cared us with a warm touch of their hand," President Moon noted.

Stressing to raise bilateral relations between the two countries beyond economic cooperation, he said, "We are committed to raising Korea's relations with India to the level as those with four major powers around the Korean Peninsula. This commitment is embodied in my new Southern Policy that aims to move beyond economic-cooperation to building a prosperous and people-centric community of peace."

President Moon underscored that the South Korean government is willing to participate in the Smart City project. "The Indian government is planning to build 100 smart cities and construct industrial corridor to link the major cities. It is our wish to participate in these infrastructural projects as well," he added.

On a lighter note, President Moon revealed that her daughter is a yoga instructor. He underscored that the citizens in the country kept themselves fit by doing yoga exercises. The attacks come a day after security forces successfully defused an improvised explosive device in Pulwama district. The explosive was found in a bucket on Pulwama-Sirnoo road in the south Kashmir district, a police official said.

Hours after Supreme Court dismissed the review pleas filed by three of the four convicts seeking&nbsp;reduction of their death sentence to a life term in Nirbhaya case, &nbsp;Nirbhaya's parents said that the decision reaffirmed their trust in the court.

Asha Devi, the mother of 2012 Delhi gangrape victim, requested judiciary to tighten&nbsp;judicial system and serve justice to Nirbhaya by hanging the culprits as soon as possible.

''Our struggle does not end here. Justice is getting delayed. It's affecting other daughters of the society. I request judiciary to tighten their judicial system, serve justice to Nirbhaya by hanging them as soon as possible and help other girls and women,'' said Asha Devi, mother of 2012 Delhi gangrape victim on SC's dismissal of the convicts' review petition.&nbsp;

Stating that the culprits were not juveniles, she said It is unfortunate that they committed such crime. ''This decision reaffirms our trust in the court that we will definitely get justice,'' she added.&nbsp;

Badrinath Singh, the father of the victim, said they knew that review petition will be dismissed. But what next? So much time has gone by and the threat to women have gone up in this span, he said and added ''I believe sooner they're hanged, better it is''.&nbsp;

Meanwhile, AP Singh, Counsel of the three accused, said Justice should be served to everyone.&nbsp;

Injustice has been done to the children (convicts). This decision has come due to political, public and media pressure, he added.&nbsp;

Rekha Sharma, Chairman of NCW also welcomed the Supreme Court's decision.&nbsp;

''I welcome this decision as it proves justice can be delayed but not denied. It's a landmark decision. This judgement shows that law takes its own course in this country,'' said Rekha Sharma.

Tulsi lake one of the seven catchment area lakes supplying water to Mumbai overflowed on Monday around 7:30 am.

Located within densely forested Sanjay Gandhi National Park, the freshwater lake is one of the second largest lakes in Mumbai and supplies part of the city's potable water.

The plan to create the lake was conceived in 1872 and construction completed in 1897. It was designed as a backup for the Vihar Lake to supply potable drinking water to the city of Mumbai.

According to Skymet Weather, extremely heavy Monsoon rains continued to lash Mumbai as the city recorded 3-digit rainfall for the second consecutive day on Sunday. In the past 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Colaba Observatory recorded 171 mm of rains, whereas Santa Cruz Observatory had witnessed 122 mm.

The heavy downpour caused waterlogging at several places and submerged rail tracks on some routes.&nbsp

There were <a href="http://www.wionews.com/india-news/mumbai-rains-local-trains-delayed-as-heavy-showers-disrupt-normal-life-149912">delays in suburban trains</a>, and many bus routes had to be diverted.

The rains also affected the Central Railway line as several train services have been temporarily shut down or delayed.&nbsp

School and Colleges have also been advised to remain shut.

Meteorological Department has predicted&nbspheavy to very heavy rainfall to continue further in parts of Mumbai, Thane, and Palghar from Sunday to Wednesday.

Once feared by people and policemen alike, gangster Prem Prakash Singh alias Munna Bajrangi&nbsp;has been shot dead inside the district jail in Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh on Monday.

Sources say an inmate, lodged in the same prison, fired at Munna Bajrangi inside the jail at about 6.30 am, killing him instantly.

According to reports, gangster Sunil Rathi, Bajrangi’s jail inmate, opened fire on him.

Bajrangi has been in jail since his arrest from Mumbai in January 2009.&nbsp;

Munna Bajrangi was transferred to Baghpat jail from Jhansi on Sunday.

The incident comes after his wife had held a press conference and claimed a threat to his life stating that plans are being chalked out to kill him in a 'fake encounter'.
