In the third instalment of the hit show, Divyenndu will not be reprising his fan-favourite role of Munna Tripathi.
The news was shared by the actor himself. During his recent interview with Humans of Bombay, the actor gave this major update to his fans.
“On Humans of Bombay, I shall declare, I am not a part of Mirzapur season 3,” he said.
After making the big revelation, Divyenndu called the character of Munna Bhaiya a troubled soul, as he added that he was initially approached for Babalu'scharacter, played by Vikrant Massey
Divyenndu said, “For me, Munna was a really troubled soul. I knew that this was a banger of a script and it would be iconic. It would explode. But, funnily enough, initially, I was approached for Babloo’s character but then a couple of days later they realised I would be a much better fit for Munna.”

Saying that his character was affecting him, the actor added, “When I was in character, it was affecting my personality a lot. We shouldn’t over-romanticize going too deep into a character because it is not easy. At times it used to get really dark for me. I felt suffocated. It’s so tricky that you don’t even realise that you are in that zone. It’s only when you come out of it you realise how dark it was.”
At the end of season 2, the viewers got a major shock as Munna Bhaiya was shot and was presumed dead. However, later major fan theories came up that the characteris not dead, and he will be reprising his role in season 3.
At a Prime Video event in March, the new season of Mirzapur season 3 was announced. The fourthcoming season will have Guddu and Golu pitted against a new contender.
Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, Shweta Tripathi, Vijay Verma and others will reprise their roles.
