Notably, the decision to bar Jewish visitors was in line with Israeli policy, which is aimed at reducing the clashes during the holiday period. However, some speculated that the new government might change the system.

Netanyahu said that the decision was taken after security talks and recommendations by Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi, Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar and Police Commissioner Kobi Shabtai.

Meanwhile, National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir said that the decision to close Temple Mount for Jewish visitors is a "grave mistake that will not bring quiet" to the region. In a direct attack on Netanyahu Ben-Gvir said: "It can only escalate the situation."

"The lack of Jewish presence on Temple Mount will automatically cause a decrease in police presence on the Mount, which will create fertile ground for calls of incitement to murder Jews. When terror strikes, one must respond strongly rather than succumb to its whims," he said.

The Jerusalem Post report mentioned that a total of 3,013 Jews visited the Temple Mount during the intermediate days of Passover this year, which is a 32 per cent increase compared to the same period last year.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Tuesday (April 11) slightly lowered its global growth projection for 2023-24 to 5.9 per cent from 6.1 per cent earlier, but the financial agency has praised the Indian economy.

Daniel Leigh, who is IMF division chief, said that the Indian economy is a "very strong economy" and the nation is one of the bright spots in the global economy right now with a high growth rate.

Leigh said: "Yes, we have a growth rate for India which is 6.8 in 2022. Let's not forget this is one of the bright spots in the global economy right now."

He added, "Such a high growth rate and it is moderating down to 5.9 with a -.2 revision compared to January, what's happening here is also a set of historical revisions."

India's inflation to slow to 4.9 per cent in the current year and further to 4.4 per cent next fiscal year, the IMF projects and the growth forecast is lower than the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) projection. The central bank predicted 7 per cent GDP growth for FY 2022-23 and 6.4 per cent in the ongoing fiscal that started on April 1.

IMF also predicted that most countries will avoid a recession this year despite high inflation in many countries, rising geopolitical tensions and financial stability.

The IMF, in its World Economic Outlook (WEO) report, predicts the global economy will grow by 2.8 per cent this year and three per cent in 2024, which is a decline of 0.1 percentage point from its January forecasts.

According to the report, the United States is expected to grow by 1.6 per cent in 2023, marginally higher than previously predicted.

IMF chief economist Pierre-Olivier Gourinchas told a press conference Tuesday: "The global economy remains on track for a gradual recovery from the pandemic and Russia's war in Ukraine." He added that "the massive and synchronized tightening of monetary policy by most central banks" had begun to bring inflation lower.

In yet another shooting incident in the United States, five people were killed and at least eight others were injured on Monday (April 10) in the US city of Louisville, Kentucky. The authorities also revealed that the shooter, a 25-year-old bank employee, live-streamed the attack when he opened fire at his workplace.

The death toll reached five when Louisville authorities confirmed in the evening that a fifth victim, a 57-year-old woman, had died of her injuries. Police also shot and killed the alleged attacker, who has been identified as a white man named Connor Sturgeon. He was an employee of Old National Bank, located downtown in Kentucky's largest city.

Police said that they reached at the scene within three minutes of receiving reports of gunfire in the bank at 8:38am (1238 GMT). Interim police chief Jacquelyn Gwinn-Villaroel told an afternoon press conference that the suspect even shot at officers, who returned fire and killed him.

Gwinn-Villaroel said that the "weapon of choice was a rifle", but she didn't specify whether or not it was an assault weapon of the ones that are commonly used in such shootings in the US.

The police chief further confirmed that the shooter had broadcast a live video of the attack on Instagram. AFP in its report mentioned that a spokesperson for Meta, the social media app's parent company, told the news agency that it was "in touch with law enforcement and quickly removed the live stream of this tragic incident this morning."

Swap cigarettes for vapes: Britain's unique plan to quit smoking

A woman in the United Kingdom claimed that she had married a ghost, and now she says she wants an exorcism to get rid of her husband. It may sound bizarre, but the life of 38-year-old Rocker Brocarde has become a living "hell".

Brocarde, who is reportedly from Oxfordshire, tied the knot with her husband Edwardo five months. She said that they met on Halloween last year.

However, things appear to have gone awry as she now wants to separate from her husband, who ended up haunting her using "the screams of a crying baby".

She said that she wants to end the marriage because Edwardo, who is said to be a ghost of a Victoria soldier, is apparently stalking her.

While speaking to Daily Star, she said, "I am at the end of my tether. I don't want to admit defeat, but it feels like being married to a ghost doesn't work."

As quoted by the media outlets, Brocarde has also said that she has been experiencing "deep dark thoughts" of late. She linked the issues to Edwardo (the ghost husband) as she says he is happy about her decision to end the marriage.

Media outlets have also mentioned that she is a singer and songwriter. A report by Daily Mail stated that Brocarde reached out to a medium. However, she claimed that Edwardo did not want to take the "marriage counselling" seriously.

Otherworld issues! Woman wants divorce via exorcism from haunting ghost she married

A scientist has claimed that by the end of this year, humans will be able to upload consciousness onto the computer, making it sensible and being aware of and responsive to its own surroundings, but is it possible for a machine to react the way humans do?

Tech guru Dr Pratik Desai said that with enough recorded audio and videos, people will be able to keep their loved ones forever "alive". Desai urged people to record their elderly parents and loved ones.

Desai is an expert in artificial intelligence and reports mentioned that he has also founded multiple start-ups and even created his own system similar to ChatGPT. He predicted consciousness could be uploaded onto a computer.

In a tweet on April 8, Desai wrote: "Start regularly recording your parents, elders and loved ones. With enough transcript data, new voice synthesis and video models, there is a 100% chance that they will live with you forever after leaving physical body. This should be even possible by end of the year."
Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday gave a befitting reply to the negative Western "perception" at an event in Washington when she was asked about the alleged "violence against Muslims" in India.
Sitharaman discussed the resilience and growth of the Indian economy at the Peterson Institute for International Economics (PIIE) where she responded to PIIE president Adam S Posen on perceptions affecting investment in India or capital flows.

Sitharaman said, "I would only say, come have a look at what's happening in India, rather than listen to perceptions being built by people who have not even visited on the ground and who produce reports." The finance minister said that she would think the "answer for that lies with those investors who are coming to India, and they've been coming".

Posen then asked Sitharaman about Western media's narrative and its reporting about Muslim minorities in India being subjected to violence, etc. To which the finance minister replied: "India has the second-largest Muslim population in the world, and that population is only growing in numbers."
