<p>"TikTok is not just another video app. That's the sheep's clothing," Carr said on Twitter. "It harvests swaths of sensitive data that new reports show are being accessed in Beijing."</p>

<p>Carr asked the companies to either remove TikTok from their app stores by July 8 or explain to him why they did not plan to do so.</p>

<p>Carr's request is unusual given that the FCC does not have clear jurisdiction over the content of app stores. The FCC regulates the national security space usually through its authority to grant certain communications licenses to companies.</p>

<p>A Tiktok spokeswoman said the company's engineers in locations outside of the United States, including China, can be granted access to U.S. user data "on an as-needed basis" and under "strict controls."</p>

<p>Reuters reported that Google declined comment on Carr's letter and Apple did not immediately respond to request for comment.</p>

<p>TikTok has been under U.S. regulatory scrutiny over its collection of U.S. personal data. The Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), which reviews deals by foreign acquirers for potential national security risks, ordered ByteDance in 2020 to divest TikTok because of fears that U.S. user data could be passed on to China's communist government.</p>

<p>The activity by hackers since then suggests that they may be linked to North Korea. Experts say that North Korea is among the most prolific cyber attackers. &nbsp;UN sanctions monitors says Pyongyang uses the stolen funds to support its nuclear and missile programmes.</p>

<p>The style of attack and high velocity of structured payments to a mixer - used to obscure the origin of funds - is similar to previous attacks that were attributed to North Korea-linked actors, Chainalysis, a blockchain firm working with Harmony to investigate the attack, said on Twitter on Tuesday.</p>

<p>That conclusion was echoed by other investigators.</p>

<p>"Preliminarily this looks like a North Korean hack based on transaction behaviour," said Nick Carlsen, a former FBI analyst who now investigates North Korea's cryptocurrency heists for TRM Labs, a U.S.-based firm.</p>

<p>There is a strong possibility that North Korea's Lazarus Group may be responsible for the theft. The conclusion has been based on the nature of the hack and subsequent laundering of the funds.</p>

Experts blame North Korea for USD 100 million cryptocurrency theft

<p>An 8-year-old boy who was missing for a week was found stuck in a sewer drain. The drain is located just 65 feet away from his parents' house. The boy was rescued and is currently undergoing medical treatment.</p>

<p>"Thanks to a tip from the public, we were able to find the boy&nbsp;in a sewer system today. The most important thing is that he is alive and was immediately taken to a hospital where he is in good hands. We can all breathe a sigh of relief," said Police Chief Johann Kuehme. He was quoted by Newsweek.</p>

<p>A countrywide police search was launched for the boy when he went missing.</p>

<p>"Not only were many police officers from a wide variety of police departments across the country involved in the search efforts over the past few days, but many police officers also volunteered in their free time to support the search for Joe," said the police statement.</p>

<p>As the search was going on, a passerby alerted the authorities about a whimpering noise coming from a sewer drain near the boy's house. Fire department arrived at the scene. Firemen climbed down a manhole leading to the sewer and pulled the boy out.</p>

But now, honey bees in southeast Australia had to go into a lockdown on Monday (June 27). The measure was taken as authorities raced to prevent spread of a parasite plague that is said to be potentially parasitic.</p>

<p>The Varroa Mite was detected at the Port of Newcastle, prompting authorities in New South Wales to throw up a strict biosecurity zone.</p>

<p>Australia is said to be the only major honey-producing country where the Varroa Mite is not endemic.&nbsp;</p>

<p>To stop spread of the mite, beekeepers inside 50 kilometre biodiversity zone will be forbidden from moving hives, bees, honey or comb till they get further notice.</p>

<p>The measure was aimed at &nbsp;"ensuring we eradicate the parasite" according to state Department of Primary Industries.</p>

<p>The tiny red-brown Varroa mites attack and feed on honey bees resulting in death of entire colonies. The mites do not cause major harm to honeybees that are not native to Australia.</p>

<p>The country's honey industry, however, relies primarily on non-native species.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"It is critically important that beekeepers in the Newcastle area do not move any hives or equipment in or out of the area," said the Australian Honey Bee Industry Council.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Moving hives away will only further exacerbate the issue and make eradication efforts futile."&nbsp;</p>

<p>Aside from the honey industry, bees are essential in pollinating countless plants.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A man decided to lessen the sadness of his sister during her wedding that took place on June 9</p>

<p>Wedding gifts are generally predictable. But what if a surprise gift truly melts hearts?</p>

<p>Phani Kumar, a man in India's Hyderabad, decided to do just that. Sai Vaishnavi, his sister was getting married. The family had suffered from the lost of her father who passed away last year. Phani Kumar had his father Avula Subramanayam's life-size statue made. The statue, when brought at the wedding venue, was a pleasant surprise for everyonw. The wax statue meant that it had very very cloase resemblance to the bride's father.</p>

<p>Emotions took over Vaishnavi and her mother. Both of them along with their relatives cried as they hugged the statue. Phani Kumar has uploaded a video on Youtube. Watch the video below.</p>

<p>"This remains an ongoing police incident with the heavy police presence in the area," said Saanich police chief Dean Duthie at a press conference.</p>

<p>The armed suspects entered the bank around 1800 GMT. The bank is located in the city of Saanich which has a population of about 114,000 outside the British Columbia capital of Victoria, police said in a statement.</p>

<p>"Multiple officers responded to the scene and encountered the armed suspects who fired at police. Two suspects were shot by police and died at the scene," the statement said, adding that no bank employees or members of the public were physically injured.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"It's hard because we have members in the hospital right now suffering from serious injuries," Duthie said.</p>

<p>Three of the six police officers were undergoing a surgery as of late Tuesday. Other three police officers may be released from the hospital.</p>

<p>Earlier in the day, an evacuation order was issued for the buildings surrounding the bank because of a suspected explosive device found in the suspects' vehicle.</p>

<p>The day's events will "shake a lot of people," said Duthie, adding that federal police had been called to assist.</p>

"I will join Facebook in September. Before accepting this job, I got offers from Google and Amazon. I thought choosing Facebook would be the best as the pay package offered by them was high," Mondal told India Today. He is fourth year student of Computer Science and Engineering at Jadavpur University. "I got the job offer on Tuesday night. In the past two years during the Covid-19 pandemic, I got the opportunity to do internships at several organisations and gather knowledge outside my curriculum studies. This has helped me crack the interviews," he said as quoted by Indian Express.. Calling every success story a 'rags to riches' tale is perhaps cliched but in case of Mondal, this holds true. <p>A court in Germany on Tuesday (June 28) handed a five-year jail sentence to a 101-year-old former NAZI concentration camp guard. Josef Shuetz, the former guard is the oldest person to go on trial for war crimes during the Holocaust.</p>

<p>Schuetz was found guilty of being an accessory to murder while working as a guard. He was posted at Sachsenhausen camp Oranienburg, north of Berlin between 1942 and 1945, said presiding judge Udo Lechtermann.</p>

<p>Schuetz is now a pensioner and lives in Brandenburg state. He had pleaded innocent to the charges against him. He said he did "absolutely nothing" and was not aware of the gruesome crimes being carried out at the camp.</p>

<p>"I don't know why I am here," he said at the close of his trial on Monday.</p>

<p>But prosecutors said he "knowingly and willingly" participated in the murders of 3,518 prisoners at the camp and called for him to be punished with five years behind bars.&nbsp;</p>

<p>More than 200,000 people, including Jews, Roma, regime opponents and gay people, were detained at the Sachsenhausen camp between 1936 and 1945.</p>

<p>Labour, murder, medical experiments, hunger or disease claimed ten of thousands of live before liberationk of the camp by Soviet troops.</p>

<p>Prosecutors said Schuetz had aided and abetted the "execution by firing squad of Soviet prisoners of war in 1942" and the murder of prisoners "using the poisonous gas Zyklon B".</p>

<p>He was 21 years old at the time.</p>
