<p>Europa, the satellite of planet Jupiter and Enceladus, the satellite of Saturn are covered in ice. The very thick icy sheet goes several kilometres deep from the surface. Scientists think that there are enormous oceans of liquid water under this ice coating on these satellites. At least till now, we have only been able to make conjectures&nbsp;about strange sea creatures swimming in these uncharted oceans.</p>

<p>But now a concept design has proposed a novel solution to the problem of ice sheets several kilometres thick. Ethan Schaler, a robotics mechanical engineer at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) has put forth a new idea. Schaler’s Sensing With Independent Micro-Swimmers (SWIM) concept was awarded $600,000 from NASA.</p>

<p>Schaler's concept involves sending dozens of mobile phone-sized swimming probe to Europa and releasing them in the water below the ice. But how can we penetrate kilometres of ice to reach the liquid ocean? By a cryobot.</p>

<p>This cryobot would have narrow ice-melting probes in which the swimming probes with be place. The narrow probe will melt ice and reach the ocean. And this will be the time to release swimming probes and gather data.</p>

<p>If the conept design gets developed into something concrete, then these probes may actually get sent to Europa. NASA is planning to make it happen by 2030.</p>

<p>The drier climate has the potential to severely affect wine and Olive production in these two countries.</p>

<p>The Azores High is an area of high atmospheric pressure that moves clockwise over the Atlantic region. It is called "gatekeeper" for rainfall in Europe. The winter rain in Europe is caused by the Azores High. It sends westerly winds inwards into the continent and causes winter rain.</p>

<p>The study of this phenomenon was carried out by researchers in the United States and was published in journal Nature Geoscience.</p>

<p>The study has found that Azores High, the high-pressure system "has changed dramatically in the past century and that these changes in North Atlantic climate are unprecedented within the past millennium".</p>

<p>A climate model simulation was used in this study. The simulation had climate data of the last 1200 years fed to it. The simulation showed that high-pressure system began to grow in last 200 years as greenhouse gas emissions increased.</p>

<p>In 20th century, it expanded even more dramatically as climate change. The scientists have said that as Azores High expanded, western Meditarranean countries have become drier.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Authors of the study say that data trends point towards rainfall decreasing by as much as 10 to 20 per cent by the end of the century. This has the potential of making Iberian peninsula "some of the most vulnerable in Europe".</p>

Parts of Europe are now drier than they have been in thousand years: Study

<p>French President Emmanuel Macron on Tueday (July 5) said that world needed 'defend' nuclear deal with Iran the revival of which is being discussed between world powers and Iran. Macron made the statement in a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid. Israel is fiercely against any nuclear deal with Iran.</p>

<p>Nuclear deal with Iran was struck by the USA under former president Barack Obama and other world powers including Russia in 2015. But Obama's successor Donald Trump took USA out of the deal and re-imposed crippling sanctions on the Islamic republic. After current President Joe Biden took office, the discussions to revive the nuclear deal have been going on but without result so far.</p>

<p>"We have to defend this (nuclear) deal (with Iran). And take in account the interests of our friends in the area, primarily Israel," Macron told reporters in the joit press conference.</p>

<p>Israel is opposed to any deal with Iran. The Islamic republic has over years, carved its own sphere of influence in West Asia. Saudi Arabia is also opposed to growing Iranian influence.</p>

<p>Before his arrival in Paris, Lapid reiterated his country's stance in presence of reporters travelling with him.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Acknowledging that France disagrees with that view, he said what was beyond dispute was that "Iran is violating the agreement and continues to develop its nuclear programme."</p>

<p>Israeli officials fear that giving Iran sanctions relief in exchange for curbs on its nuclear programme could allow Tehran to boost funding to Hezbollah, as well as the Palestinian militant group Hamas.</p>

<p>Macron, meanwhile, deplored that Iran "refuses to seize the opportunity offered to it to conclude a good agreement", but said he would "make every effort" to make Tehran "see reason".</p>

<p>The average temperature of a healthy human body is around 37 degrees Celsius. It was previously assumed that temperature of the brain would be similar to that of the body. But this study says otherwise.</p>

<p>Scientists from Cambridge University have found that average temperature of a healthy human brain is 38.5 degrees Celsius. Some of the inner regions of the brain were even measured to be at 40 degrees Celsius.</p>

<p>Things such as lifestyle, genetic differences were factored in. The volunteers were also given activity trackers to be worn on their wrists.</p>

<p>It was found that in healthy participants, the average temperature of the brain was 38.5 degrees Celsius. This was more than two degrees hotter than the temperature measured under the tongue. The study also found that the brain temperature varied through the day depending on</p>

	<li>sex and menstrual cycle</li>
</ul>

<p>Iran's judiciary has charged former Iranian president Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani's daughter for carrying out propaganda activity against the country and blasphemy on social media.</p>

<p>"The indictment... has been issued and referred to the court on the charges of propaganda activity against the system of the Islamic Republic of Iran and blasphemy," Tehran's chief prosecutor Ali Salehi said, according to the judiciary's website Mizan Online.</p>

<p>Faezeh Hashemi (59), the daughter of the former president is a former lawmaker and women's rights activist. Charges against her are connected to comments reportedly made by her in an audio debate on social media in April this year.</p>

<p>According to the local media, Hashemi said that Iran's demand for Revolutionary Guards to be removed from a US terror list was "damaging" to the country's "national interest". The Revolutionary Guards are ideological arm of Iran's military.</p>

Former Iran president's daughter charged with propaganda and blasphemy

<p>'Hey' is perhaps a word that has come to assume a common everyday greeting across cultures. With digital lingo being increasingly getting mixed with pure business talk in pandemic times, almost no one takes offence when greeted with a friendly 'hey'. But perhaps there are some who justify the use of the word 'almost' in the last sentence. To each their own of course but is 'hey' offensive? Well, this boss thinks so.</p>

<p>A reddit user by the name Shreyas has posted an interesting WhatsApp conversation in which his boss loses his...cool... due to just a 'hey'.</p>

<p>The convesration, as posted by Shreyas, starts with his boss asking him about completion of a test.</p>

<p>'Hey', says Shreyas as he begins to reply. But little did he know that the three-letter word had awakened an angry giant deep in the recesses of the boss's mind.</p>

<p>In a typo-ridden reply, the boss says,</p>

<p>"Hi Shreyas, my name is Sandeep. Please don't you (use) the word "hey". It is offensive for me"</p>

<p>The boss wasn't done. In two quick messages, he forbids Shreyas from using words 'dude', 'man', 'chap', 'chick' and advises him to stick to 'hi' or 'hey there'.</p>

<p>If you receive such a reply calling the word 'offensive', you are bound to do a facepalm.</p>

<p>But Shreyas politely holds the fort.</p>

<p>He says that since the conversation was taking place on his personal number on WhatsApp (not on LinkedIn or on e-mail) he chose to greet him in the way he did.</p>

<p>Mr Boss then attempts to enlightens Shreyas that WhatsApp was not a personal mode of communication anymore and even proceeds to subtly threaten hi.</p>

<p>Yikes!</p>

<p>Russian parliament on Tuesday (July 5) gave their initial approval to two bills authorising the government to ask businesses in Russia to supply the military with goods. These bills may&nbsp;also make their employees work overtime to support Russian invasion of Ukraine.</p>

<p>Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24 and has control over Luhansk region in Ukraine's east. Russia calls its invasion of Ukraine a "special military operation'. The invasion has resulted in Western countries imposing sanctions on Russia with an aim to cripple Russian economy.</p>

<p>One of the bills -- approved in a first reading by the State Duma, the lower house of parliament -- said the state could impose "special economic measures" during military operations, requiring firms to supply goods and services to the military at the demand of the Russian government.</p>

Russian parliament gives initial approval to laws for a war economy

<p>Police in Indiana, USA have started an investigation after more than 30 bodies, some of them decomposing, were found inside a funeral home in southern Indiana. Police in the Louisville suburb of Jeffersonville made the discovery at Lankford Funeral Home and Family Center on Friday evening. There were 31 bodies &nbsp;including some&nbsp;"in the advanced stages of decomposition," Maj. Isaac Parker said.</p>

<p>Parker said that the county coroner's office reported a strong odour coming from the building. Inside, officers wearing hazmat gear found bodies "in different places around the building." Some of the bodies had been at the funeral home since March, Parker said. Police also found the cremated remains of 16 people.</p>

<p>"It was a very unpleasant scene," Parker said. "The conditions were not good."</p>

<p>The owner of the funeral home has been speaking with police since Friday, Parker said, and an investigation is ongoing.</p>

<p>For identification, the remains were taken to Clark County Coroner's office. Police have appealed to public to come forward if anyone had any information.</p>

<p>A woman who sent her brother's body to the funeral home for cremation after he died in April told WHAS-TV that she is still waiting for his remains. Tara Owen said when she reached out to the funeral director, he responded that he was 'dealing with a lot' at the moment.</p>

<p>Danish police said on Sunday (July 3) that several people were hit by gunshots at a shopping centre in Copenhagen. One person has been arrested. The police have advised people inside the shopping centre to stay put and wait for police assiatance.</p>

<p>Local media published images showing heavily armed police officers at the scene, as well as people running out of the mall.</p>

<p>British singer Harry Styles' concert was scheduled to take place less than a mile away from the mall later in the evening.</p>

<p>Danish police said Sunday they had arrested one person in connection to a shooting inside a Copenhagen shopping mall.</p>

<p>"One person has been arrested in connection to the shooting in Fields. Currently we are unable to say anything else about their identity," Copenhagen police said in a post to Twitter.</p>

<p>"Terrible reports of shooting in Fields. We do not yet know for sure how many are injured or dead, but it is very serious," Copenhagen's mayor, Sophie Andersen, said in a post to social media.</p>

<p>According to public broadcaster DR, at least three people were being treated in hospital.</p>

<p>Eyewitnesses quoted by Danish media said they saw more than 100 people rush towards the mall's exit as the first shots were heard.</p>

<p>"We could see that many people suddenly ran towards the exit and then we heard a bang. Then we ran out of Field's too," Thea Schmidt, who was in the mall at time of the attack told broadcaster TV2.</p>

<p>EasyJet on Monday announced the resignation of its chief operating officer as the British no-frills carrier and the aviation sector at large struggle with flight cancellations and staff shortages.</p>

<p>EasyJet said Peter Bellew would pursue other business opportunities after ensuring a smooth handover.</p>

<p>Dr Caitlin Bernard, an Indianapolis obstetrician-gynecologist told Columbus Dispatch that she received a call from colleague in Ohio who works with abuse survivors. The colleague asked for Dr Bernard's help for the girl. Abortion procedure has not been banned in Indiana yet, but state lawmakers are likely to do so soon. A special session of the assembly is due to convene later this month.</p>

<p>Dr Bernard said that her clinic and other abortion providers are receiving increased number of patients who are coming from neighbouring states where abortions are banned.</p>

<p>“It’s hard to imagine that in just a few short weeks we will have no ability to provide that care,” said Dr Bernard as quoted by Columbus Dispatch.</p>
