According to the Israeli police, the incident took place near Netviot, a city near Gaza, where the cops were hunting down Hamas operatives amid a raging war that started this weekend.

The clip further shows a cop purportedly overtaking the car as another policeman on a bike shoots at the terrorists inside the car.

When the car stopped, the cops continued firing multiple rounds at them.

“Police and Border Police officers heroically neutralized two armed terrorists outside of Netivot on Saturday. We will continue working on the front lines to defend our civilians from terror,” Israel Police said in a post on X.

According to reports, the video dates back to the start of the surprise assault launched on early Saturday morning when&nbsp;the country&nbsp;first came under attack. The initial casualty&nbsp;was reported from a music festival in the desert near the Gaza-Israel border.

More than 260 bodies were recovered from the festival site and was described as the worst massacre in Israel’s history.

He also said that they won’t warn the targets before firing the missiles, adding that Israel’s air force is stretched thin.

Hecht further said that the military has found around 1,500 bodies of Hamas militants in Israeli territory as it said it had largely gained control in the country’s south and “restored full control” over the border on the fourth day of fighting following an unprecedented surprise attack.

The Israeli military on Tuesday (Oct 10) said it is considering Gaza's parliament and civilian ministries as legitimate targets in its fight against the Palestine-based Hamas terror group.

Responding to the media, spokesperson Richard Hecht, as per Associated Press,&nbsp;said, “If there’s a gunman firing rockets from there, it turns into a military target."

He also said that they won’t warn the targets before firing the missiles, adding that Israel’s air force is stretched thin.

The Israeli military’s warning came hours after Hamas threatened to execute civilian hostages without warning and said that the killings broadcast if Israel targets people in Gaza. Around 130 Israelis, including soldiers, have been kept as hostages.

<h2>Hamas threatens ISIS-style executions&nbsp;</h2>

On Monday (Oct 9), Hamas said that Israeli air strikes had killed four of its hostages.

"Every targeting of our people without warning will be met with the execution of one of the civilian hostages," Hamas armed wing, the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, said in a statement.

Hecht further said that the military has found around 1,500 bodies of Hamas militants in Israeli territory as it said it had largely gained control in the country’s south and “restored full control” over the border on the fourth day of fighting following an unprecedented surprise attack.

Hecht also did not rule out the possibility of more infiltrations in the country.

So far 900 people, including soldiers, have been killed and Palestinian authorities have reported about 700 deaths in Gaza and the West Bank as the fighting rages on.

<h2>Qatar negotiating prisoner swap deal</h2>

Meanwhile, Reuters news agency quoting sources has claimed that Qatar is mediating a prisoner swap deal between Israel and the Hamas terror group, adding that it has been undertaken in coordination with the United States since Saturday night.

An Israeli official, however, has denied the report, saying that “there is no negotiation” over the release of hostages, Times of Israel reported.

According to reports, there are around 36 Palestinians kept as hostages by Israel.

Hecht further said that the military has found around 1,500 bodies of Hamas militants in Israeli territory as it said it had largely gained control in the country’s south and “restored full control” over the border on the fourth day of fighting following an unprecedented surprise attack. Hecht also did not rule out the possibility of more infiltrations in the country. So far 900 people, including soldiers, have been killed and Palestinian authorities have reported about 700 deaths in Gaza and the West Bank as the fighting rages on. Saturday’s tremblor was recorded about 40km from the western city of Herat. Many buildings were damaged, trapping people under rubble as the region witnessed at least three powerful aftershocks.

The head of the Taliban political office in Qatar&nbsp;Suhail Shaheen has said that Afghanistan needs food, drinking water, medicine, clothes and tents urgently for rescue and relief, Suhail Shaheen.

At least a dozen teams have been scrambled to help with rescue efforts, including from the military and non-profit organisations like the Red Crescent.

The United Nations migration agency said it has deployed four ambulances with doctors and psychosocial support counsellors to the regional hospital.

At least three mobile health teams are on their way to the Zenda Jan district, which is one of the worst affected areas.

Israeli officials are facing heat over the unprecedented attacks launched by the Hamas terror group during the Jewish holiday over the weekend, as questions are being raised over the potential failure of its famed Mossad intelligence agency.

On Saturday (Oct 7) morning, Hamas began its blitzkrieg by air, land and sea spanning 22 locations outside the Gaza Strip, including towns and other communities as far as 15 miles (24 kilometres) from the Gaza border.

The attack caught the Israeli security apparatus off guard which had otherwise been largely successful in blunting any shadow war against the Jewish state.

The apparent lapse became clearer when Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported that neither the Israeli Defence Force nor the Israel Security Agency — commonly known as the Shin Bet — issued any warnings that the terrorist organisation, which operates out of the Gaza Strip, was about to launch the assault.

What makes this intelligence failure even more startling is the fact that senior IDF and defence ministry officials publicly said last week that Hamas was not particularly interested in open conflict, the outlet reported.

<h2>Israelis caught off-guard </h2>

US officials said that if the Israelis knew an attack was imminent, they did not share it with Washington.

“We were not tracking this,” a senior US military official said, according to NBC.

According to BBC, Israel has the most extensive and well-funded intelligence network in the Middle East.

Their spy network includes informants and agents who have infiltrated Palestinian militant groups, as well as similar organisations throughout Lebanon and Syria.

However, this wasn’t enough.

“The entire system failed. It’s not just one component,” Jonathan Conricus, a former IDF international spokesman, told CNN.

So far, at least 700 people from the Israeli side have been killed, while more than 400 have died from the Palestinian side since Israel started retaliating.

Saturday’s attack brought back painful memories of the October 1973 war, which happened exactly on the same date 50 years ago, in which Israel's enemies had launched a surprise attack on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in Judaism.

“It cannot be understated or put in less severe terms: The IDF, the strongest military in the Middle East and one of the most respected worldwide was caught completely by surprise in the Hamas attack on Israel on Saturday,” YNetNews, a leading portal, asserted.

A 23-year-old American-Israeli citizen sent out a chilling message to his parents hours before going missing from the rave party where Hamas terrorists launched their first attack and kidnapped its attendees.

Hersh Golberg-Polin, who had just celebrated his 23rd birthday this past week, was attending a music festival in the Negev desert region. He had left the US on Friday night for the rave. He had also recently completed his mandatory army service.

After texting his parents, “I love you” and “I’m sorry,” Golberg-Polin became unreachable.

“We just want him home and safe,” his father, Jonathon Polin told The Jerusalem Post, adding that if he could tell his son anything, he would say: “We love you. Come home to us.”

According to local media, around 260 bodies were found at the rave party site.

<h2>Wanted to visit India </h2>

During his service, Golberg-Polin drove tanks in the 7th Armored Brigade and later trained to become a medic, his father said, adding that his son thought it was “more interesting than driving a tank.”

After the end of his service, he decided to explore the world, attend music festivals, and watch the Hapoel Jerusalem soccer team.

Golberg-Polin worked both as a medic and a waiter and he was trying to save money to visit India as it had been a long-time dream of his, his father told The Jerusalem Post.

The Nature Party, near Kibbutz Re'im close to Gaza, was attended by thousands of people. It was the first target of the militant group that crossed into Israel on early Saturday.

23-year-old sends chilling text before going missing from Israeli rave party

The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Monday (Oct 9) announced poll dates for the assembly elections in five states— Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Telangana, and Mizoram.

The assembly election in Madhya Pradesh will take place on November 17, followed by Rajasthan on November 23 and Telangana on November 30. The elections will be done under a single phase.

Mizoram will see voting on November 7, which will also be done in a single phase.

In Chhattisgarh, the elections will be done in two phases, with the first one to be held on November 7, and the second phase on November 17.

Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar noted that these five states hold a unique significance as they serve as the final assembly elections before the grand stage of the General Elections in 2024.

<h2>Five states account for one-sixth voters of country</h2>

These combined five states have around 160 million voters, almost one-sixth of the total voters in the country, the official noted.

Of those, 82 million voters are male, and 78 million are female, the CECE said.

Around 6 million first-time voters will be able to participate in elections in five states, with 1.5 million young voters eligible to participate in elections due to amendments on qualifying dates.

The counting of votes in all five states will be held on December 3, Kumar said.

Around 17,70,00 polling stations will be erected across these five states, and of these, 1,01,00 stations will have webcasting facilities. Over 8,000 polling stations will be managed by women.

<h2>Unique elections&nbsp;</h2>

"We have gathered here after a gap of six months. These elections are significant for the country and after this, we will meet for the announcement of the Lok Sabha elections," Kumar said.

"We have met all stakeholders, including political parties and enforcement agencies, while preparing for assembly elections in Mizoram, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, MP and Telangana," he said.

On Wednesday afternoon, the woman while seated on a public bus was shot and taken to a hospital in critical condition, the Hampden District Attorney’s Office said.

Copernicus Climate Change Service said that September’s average temperature was 0.93 degree Celsius, above the 1991-2020 average and 0.5 degree Celsius above the previous 2020 record.

“It’s just mind-blowing really. Never seen anything like that in any month in our records,” said Copernicus Director Carlo Buontempo.

The report further said that the figure was “the most anomalous warm month” in its data going back to 1940.

While July and August, too, recorded higher temperatures because they are warmer months on the calendar, September’s temperature was unique considering that the peak of summer had already subsided.

The European Union monitor calculated September’s average temperature to be 16.38 degrees Celsius, which was higher than the old record of 0.5 degree Celsius set in September 2020.

“The unprecedented temperatures for the time of year observed in September — following a record summer — have broken records by an extraordinary amount,” Samantha Burgess, deputy director of Copernicus, said in a statement.

She said that the “extreme month” has likely pushed 2023 into the “dubious honour of first place” as the hottest year ever, with temperatures about 1.4ºC above pre-industrial average temperatures.

The scientists further warned that the El Niño weather phenomenon, which involves the warming of the Pacific Ocean, is also expected to drive global temperatures higher over the remainder of this year.
