Japan Earthquake: Yen closes worst week since 2022

The yen ended its worst week against the U.S. Dollar in sixteen months as the bank of Japan's likely decision to abandon negative rates was tempered by the economic effects of a strong earthquake. Following the release of important U.S. Labour and ism services data, the currency fluctuated sharply, falling as much as 0.9% against the dollar on Friday before closing the day essentially unchanged.
