The United States has announced new visa restrictions targeting certain South African nationals. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the policy applies to individuals involved in or supporting alleged race-based discrimination, incitement of violence and uncompensated land seizures in South Africa. The move comes amid ongoing tensions between Washington and Pretoria over South Africa’s domestic policies.
