Prior to now, the RF Government added more land and water areas to the Pevek Seaport's boundaries in the Chaunskaya Bay, close to Cape Nagleynyn. As per Glavgosexpertiza's statement, the new terminal is scheduled to start operations in 2026 and is expected to play a significant role in advancing the year-round cargo transit along the Northern Sea Route.
