Nearly four years after the Russia-Ukraine war began in 2022, it is no longer just a two-nation conflict, fighters are now coming from almost every continent.
Ukrainian officials say Russia has recruited over 18,000 foreign fighters from at least 37 countries. While more than 15,000 foreigners from over 70 countries are estimated to have joined Ukraine’s war effort.
