U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth says the military has cut the number of generals and admirals by 20%. Speaking at Quantico, Hegseth said 10% of senior officers were removed and another 10% of general officer positions were eliminated, calling the cuts “accountability” while critics have described them as a purge.
