Pakistan opens first donkey slaughterhouse to meet China's growing demand

The first donkey slaughterhouse in Gwadar, Pakistan, has started operations to satisfy the demand for e-jiao from China. An agreement has been established between China and Pakistan regarding the procurement of donkey hides and bones, as exporting live animals is considered less practical. Pakistan has a donkey population of 5.9 million, and selective breeding is promoted for its economic benefits.
