Nepal floods: Pre & post-disaster satellite images show glacier breakage

High-resolution pre- and post-disaster satellite imagery—released by agencies like ISRO’s National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC) and Planet Labs—has revealed the catastrophic trigger behind the deadly flash floods in Nepal. The comparison shows that nearly two-thirds of a high-altitude glacier snout (at an elevation of about 5,200 meters near the Nepal-Tibet border) detached and collapsed.
