The National Guard troops mobilized in Washington D.C. are now allowed to carry guns.
The Guard members can carry their service-issued weapons, including M4 carbine rifles and M17 pistols, and are permitted to "use of force only as a last resort and solely in response to an imminent threat of death or serious bodily harm.
