CM Mamata Banerjee demanded capital punishment for the accused in the wake of the gruesome rape and murder of a female doctor in India's east Indian state of West Bengal. While addressing her supporters and party workers on Wednesday (Aug 28), she called for a protest on Sep 6 to demand justice for the 31-year-old rape victim and asked all student and political leaders from her party, Trinamool Congress, to join the demonstrations.
