Iran votes amid tensions boiling over new hijab law

The Guardian Council of Iran, a body of clerics and jurists ultimately subordinate to Khamenei, has not yet ratified a bill introduced by the country's parliament that could inflict 10-year prison sentences for violating the hijab. Only Pezeshkian, one of the presidential contenders, has criticized the hijab law thus far.
