India and Canada are moving quickly to revive and finalize a long-pending free trade agreement as both countries look to strengthen economic ties. India’s Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal met Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney to accelerate negotiations aimed at boosting investment, trade, and market access. With bilateral trade reaching $23 billion in 2024, Canada is increasingly looking at India’s 1.4 billion-strong consumer market as a major growth opportunity.
