The International Cricket Council (ICC) has introduced new Return-to-Play Post-Pregnancy Guidelines aimed at supporting women cricketers returning to elite competition after childbirth.
The framework provides member boards with structured guidance covering physical recovery, mental wellbeing, and professional reintegration. Built around a “6 Rs” model — Ready, Review, Restore, Recondition, Return, and Refine — the policy aims to ensure a safe and gradual comeback to competitive cricket.
The ICC says the initiative is designed to strengthen player welfare and promote the long-term growth of women’s cricket by helping athletes balance motherhood and professional sport.
