A ₹250-crore fraud has rocked one of India’s most revered temples — Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams. A CBI-led Special Investigation Team has exposed that Bhole Baba Organic Dairy supplied synthetic ghee for the Tirupati Laddu prasadam for five years, from 2019 to 2024. The SIT found that the dairy used palm oil, hydrogenated fats, and chemical esters instead of real milk fat, passing purity tests by manipulating chemical values.
Promoters Pomil and Vipin Jain have been named in the chargesheet. Serious questions are now being raised about how this large-scale fraud continued undetected for years and who within TTD may have enabled it.
