The German Chancellor, Olaf Scholz, has asked the German President, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, to dissolve the parliament. The president now has about 21 days to accept this proposal and call for fresh elections within the next 60 days. This comes after Olaf Scholz lost confidence in the Bundestag, the German Parliament.
