European Union eyes 90% cut in greenhouse gas emissions by 2040

The European Union has called for a 90% cut in greenhouse gas emissions by 2040, as part of its push to become the world’s first climate-neutral continent. The new interim target aims at making the bloc carbon neutral by mid-century.
