The European Union has scrapped its long-standing customs exemption on parcels worth up to 150 euros, or roughly 170 dollars. The move aligns Brussels more closely with Washington's crackdown on de minimis imports and is expected to impact Chinese e-commerce giants like Shein and Temu. As Europe seeks to protect local retailers and tighten oversight of cross-border trade, the decision could reshape the economics of low-cost online shopping across the continent.
