The Philippines' recent induction of BrahMos missiles has been hailed as a significant development by Ambassador Josel Francisco Ignacio. In an exclusive interview with diplomatic correspondent Sidhant Sibal, Philippines Ambassador Ignacio described the acquisition as a "milestone" for the country's defense modernization, providing "credible deterrence". The BrahMos missile, renowned for its speed and precision, was jointly developed by India's Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Russia's NPO Mashinostroyenia. The $375 million deal, signed in 2022, marked a crucial step forward for the Philippines undertaking its defense modernization.
