10-minute EV charging: A mainstream reality soon?
Swedish carmaker Polestar and fast-charging battery pioneer StoreDot have successfully demonstrated the implementation of the world's first Extreme Fast Charging EV technology. The technology can add 200 miles (320 kilometres) of range to a mid-sized electric car in just 10 minutes and it could be applied to future Polestar vehicles. Will this tech eliminate consumer charging anxiety, which is a major obstacle to widespread EV adoption? Only time will tell. For now, let's see how a Polestar 5 prototype was charged up from 10 to 80 per cent in just 10 minutes.
