IPL 2018: Virender Sehwag to come out of retirement, to open for Punjab against Delhi

<p>Indian cricket team&#39;s ace off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin Monday was named the skipper of IPL franchise Kings XI Punjab, for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) tournament.&nbsp;</p>

<p>India cricket captain Virat Kohli today became the first international skipper to hit six double centuries in Test cricket.</p>

<p>India&#39;s current &#39;Milestone Man&#39;, who had emulated Rahul Dravid with his previous double century in Nagpur, today equalled Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag for most double hundreds for India in Tests.</p>

<p>The 29-year-old scored his record sixth Test double hundred on the second day of the ongoing <a href="http://www.wionews.com/sports/kohli-1st-captain-to-score-hat-trick-of-tons-in-3-match-series-25690">third Test against Sri Lanka at the Feroz Shah Kotla here</a>.</p>

<p>In a surprise move, the NADA also appointed dope-tainted former weightlifter Kunjarani Devi as one of the members of the Anti-Doping Disciplinary Panel (ADDP).</p>

<p>Kunjarani was suspended for six months for an anti-doping rule violation in 2001 when she tested positive for stimulant strychnine at the Asian Championships in South Korea.</p>

<p>She will now be among those who will decide whether an athlete is guilty of doping or not.</p>

<p>The ADDP has other former sportspersons in Akhil Kumar (boxing), Reeth Abraham (athletics), Jagbir Singh (hockey) and Rohit Rajpal (tennis). The panel will be headed by retired district and sessions judge Kuldeep Singh.</p>

<p>The other members of the ADDP are Manik Dogra (advocate), Nalin Kohli, Bina Gupta and Surbhi Mehta (all advocates), Vinod Dogra, Dr. Ankit Sharma, Dr. Chengappa and Col (Dr) Sanjeev Kumar.</p>

<p>As per norms, any doping case is first heard by the ADDP and then the matter is referred to ADAP.</p>

<p>A&nbsp;Facebook post by Kaur had gone viral last week. In the post, she holds up a placard saying: &quot;I am a student from Delhi University. I am not afraid of ABVP. I am not alone. Every student of India is with me. #StudentsAgainstABVP&quot;.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Her post had come after violence on Delhi Univesity&#39;s Ramjas College campus by students of the ABVP, the students&#39; wing of the BJP.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The ABVP students had forcibly shut down a seminar at Ramjas at which the JNU student Umar Khalid was to speak on Bastar, the subject of his PhD.</p>

<p>Khalid had last year been charged with sedition after allegedly anti-national chants were raised on JNU.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Meanwhile, Kaur has been provided security -- two women constables will now be stationed with her -- after she alleged rape threats online. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Sehwag had earlier today mocked an earlier video of Kaur&#39;s, in which she holds up a placard saying: &quot;Pakistan did not kill my dad, war killed him.&quot;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Gurmehar&#39;s father, Captain Mandeep Singh, had been killed in the 1999 Kargil war.&nbsp;</p>
