<p>Taking his fans on a nostalgia trip, Big B shared a throwback picture on his Instagram account and revealed that he took Sridevi, Salman, and Aamir to their first ever concert. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Indian film producer Boney Kapoor who is producing the Tamil remake of ‘Pink’ with Vidya Balan and Ajith Kumar called it an “ode to Sridevi”.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In a report published in DNA, Kapoor added that the late actress wanted Ajith to do a Tamil film with their production house. This, as Sridevi and Ajith Kumar, worked with each other in the Tamil version of ‘English Vinglish’.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Kapoor said, "While working with Ajith in English Vinglish, Sridevi had expressed her desire that Ajith does a Tamil film for our home production. Nothing exciting came up till one day last year. Ajith suggested remaking Pink in Tamil. She immediately agreed as she thought it was the most appropriate and timely film to make and Ajith would bring all the elements required to make it into a great Tamil film."&nbsp;</p>

<p>‘Pink’ was a hit Hindi film starring Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu in lead roles. It released in 2016 and won the National Film Award for Best Film on Other Social Issues.</p>

<p>As the Tamil remake is underway, Ajith will play the role that Amitabh Bachchan essayed in the Hindi film while Vidya has a special appearance. Tamil debut with this film.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The film is titled ‘AK 59’ and is currently being shot in Hyderabad. The film also stars Shraddha Srinath, Adhik Ravichandran, Arjun Chidambaram, Abhirami Venkatachalam, Andrea Tariang, Aswin Rao and Sujith Shankar. It is being directed by H. Vinoth.</p>

<p>On his future work apart from the remake, Kapoor said, "Pink is the first, and there will be many more to follow. I have the rights of Badhaai Ho as well, which will also be planned in Telugu and Tamil.”</p>

Boney Kapoor reveals 'Pink' Tamil remake is 'an ode to Sridevi'

<p>Work on NTR biopic is underway as actress Rakul Preet Singh who has been roped to play Sridevi posted the first look of her character in the film. We must say, she doesn’t disappoint!</p>

<p>Rakul took to Instagram to share the first look of her as Sridevi. Wearing a traditional sari and centre-parted hairdo (that Sridevi used to carry effortlessly in her films), Rakul will remind you of legendary actress Sridevi.</p>

<p>For those who are unaware, NTR and Sridevi acted in a total of 14 films together. Rakul’s role as Sridevi in the film is limited to a cameo appearance with a song and some scenes.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Talking about her role, Rakul said, “This is going to be the most challenging character I’ve played so far because Srideviji is a legend. She was and is still loved by millions. I have been a big fan and recreating the diva on screen for the first time is a big responsibility. I hope I can do justice to it. The makers have full faith in me and I hope I can live up to it.”</p>

Arjun Kapoor reveals why he stood by his father Boney Kapoor, sisters Janhvi and Khushi

<p>In her first ever magazine interview, Janhvi Kapoor opened up about why her mom Sridevi never wanted her to enter the film industry.</p>

<p>Janhvi, who turned cover girl for Vogue India`s June issue, was interviewed by filmmaker and mentor Karan Johar as he is the one launching her in Bollywood with ''Dhadak''.</p>

<p>The 21-year-old told Karan that Sridevi thought she wasn`t thick-skinned enough to survive in movies.</p>

<p>"She never wanted me to be an actress. She was more relaxed about Khushi getting into films. She thought I was naïve, that I wasn`t thick-skinned enough. She wanted us to live a more relaxed life. She loved what she did but you know it was intense," said Janhvi.</p>

<p>When the ''Ae Dil Hai Mushkil'' director asked if she feels a void that she does not have her mother to turn to, Janhvi said, "Of course. I could always be the baby with her. When I`d wake up, the first thing I`d do was ask for her. I`d need her to put me to sleep sometimes and she literally had to feed me.</p>

<p>"She added, "The day before she left for the wedding, I had to shoot, but I couldn`t sleep, so I was like, `I need you to come and put me to sleep.` But she was packing, so by the time she came to me I was half asleep. But I could feel her patting my head."</p>

<p>Janhvi further talked about how the untimely death of Sridevi has brought the four children of producer Boney&nbsp;Kapoor, Arjun, Anshula, Janhvi, and Khushi - together.</p>

<p>"It`s made us feel safe and secure. I think, even for Papa, it`s a source of comfort. It`s definitely tied us together. We`ve lost mom and I don`t think that`s a loss any of us will ever get over," she said.</p>

Meanwhile, Arjun and Anshula continue to be protective of their younger stepsisters Janhvi and Khushi and defend them on social media whenever trolls take a dig at them owing to their late mother, Sridevi’s marriage to Boney Kapoor. Boney was previously married to Mona Kapoor and had Arjun and Anshula from them. Janhvi and Khushi are daughters with Sridevi, his second marriage. National Film Awards 2018: Who will be awarded what today

<p>When Boney Kapoor produced 'Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja' in the early 1990s, the film was touted as the most expensive film of its time. The film starring Sridevi and Anil Kapoor in the lead was a box office debacle and the producer had to face major losses due to the film's failure.&nbsp;<br />

Taapsee was elated on the news and said, “This is the third time I have had the opportunity to be a part of a National Award-winning film. The jury head of the National Film Award, Shekhar Kapur also revealed that he was of the same sentiment, of not awarding Sridevi as there were many other deserving actresses who delivered breathtaking performances and who needed this award as part of a career boost.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As reported by a leading daily, Shekhar Kapur while announcing Sridevi’s name said, "The best actress is Sridevi for Mom and I promise you it is not my relationship with her. Every morning when I came here, I would ask everyone to vote once again. I would look at all the actors, talk about them and I would say, ‘there should be not Sridevi, not Sridevi’! We used to take a vote and it always came back to Sridevi. It was me who fought that it shouldn’t be Sridevi. We are all emotionally involved with Sridevi. I used to say, ‘don’t give her an award because she died, it is unfair on the other girls’. They have also worked hard for 10-12 years, they too have a career."<br />

<p>Nearly two months after her accidental death, actress Sridevi was awarded her first National Film Award for her performance in 'Mom'.</p>

<p>The announcement was made on Friday by by Jury Head Shekhar Kapur and other members of the panel.</p>

65th National Film Awards: Sridevi wins Best Actress for 'Mom', 'Newton' Best Film

<p>Veteran Bollywood actress Sridevi was accorded full state honor under the instructions of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, an RTI query has revealed.</p>

<p>An RTI activist, Anil Galgali, had filed an RTI seeking details of full state honors granted for the cremation of the Bollywood actress and also who has the powers of granting. The RTI was filed under the RTI Act 2005 from the Protocol Department of the Maharashtra Government.</p>

<p>In a reply, the Protocol department informed that the granting of the full state honors for cremation is under the powers of the Chief Minister, who also heads the General Administration Department, under which the Protocol department comes.</p>

<p>It was also clarified that the power to grant full state honors for cremation of any person is under the discretionary powers of the Chief Minister and is not dependent on being a Padma Shri awardee.</p>

It was also clarified that the power to grant full state honors for cremation of any person is under the discretionary powers of the Chief Minister and is not dependent on being a Padma Shri awardee. On Sunday, Sridevi's prayer meeting in Chennai was attending by the almost entire Tamil film industry

<p>Sridevi&#39;s untimely demise on February 24th left the entire country in a state of shock. While forensic reports have stated that the legendary actress died of accidental drowning in the hotel bathtub in Dubai, there has been a lot of speculation around what exactly transpired on that day at the hotel.<br />

Be it Laila, a girl with cerebral palsy, who does not mind swinging both ways in Margarita, With A Straw to a 55-year-old Usha Parmar who reads erotic novels and yearns for her hot swimming coach, these women were unabashed and strong in their own unique way.</p>
