However, the plan was modified after Russia launched its invasion of Ukraine, putting the project in a tight spot.&nbsp;Giuseppe Racca, Euclid’s mission manager at ESA in Noordwijk, the Netherlands, said, "We were faced with possibility of putting the spacecraft in storage and launching in three to four years.”<br />

As per Racca, the team of scientists felt relieved when SpaceX was roped in as Falcon 9 was found to be compatible with the Euclid launch.</p>

This comes as the biographer spoke about Musk’s complex life and the upcoming biography about the billionaire on Thursday.</p>

<h2><strong>Musk’s ‘demon mode’</strong></h2>

<p>During the interview, Isaacson said that one of the difficulties while dealing with smart and innovative people is that they have quite a “dark streak”. Notably, he has previously written biographies on several innovators, like Steve Jobs, Albert Einstein and Leonardo da Vinci.</p>

<p>Similarly, in Musk’s case, the biographer said that his so-called dark streak comes from a very brutal, violent childhood. “A childhood in which he had very strong psychological difficulties with his father,” said Isaacson.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Notably, the term “demon mode” is said to have been coined by Grimes, Musk’s former girlfriend, who told the biographer how it could be “unpleasant” being around the Twitter CEO when he is in that mode but “gets shit done.”&nbsp;</p>

<p>Speaking broadly about the dark streak, the biographer said that many brilliant and successful people, including Musk and Jobs, are not burdened by empathy which allows them to accomplish a larger mission and can make them much tougher leaders.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In the Tesla CEO&nbsp;case, Isaacson said that he has a “maniacal sense of urgency” which would often scare some of his workers. “He’d go dark and I’d know that he was just going to rip that person apart,” said Isaacson about Musk, when someone would not match his sense of urgency. <p>Isaacson, who followed Musk’s day-to-day life for nearly two years, said that these moments of rage would make him “uncomfortable” and it was hard to watch. “He is just brutal,” said the biographer, as per Insider.&nbsp;</p>

<p>He added, “The thing that I noticed is that once he finishes doing it – and it was never physical and it was almost done in a flat monotone – but he would just really attack people and then a few days later if they absorbed the lesson, he’d forget about it.”&nbsp;</p>

This moment marked a significant milestone for Indo-German firm Azista BST Aerospace, a joint venture between India's Azista Industries Pvt Ltd and Germany's Berlin Space Technologies GmbH. After the space sector reforms were rolled out in India, many private firms have launched small satellites, but this 80-kg imaging satellite from Azista is the heaviest yet from an Indian private firm.</p>

<p>"Azista started off by manufacturing satellite components and electronics for ISRO's Space Applications Centre(SAC) in Ahmedabad and then we decided to venture into building an entire satellite," Srinivas Reddy, Managing Director, Azista BST, told WION. He added that the Azista team combined their technical expertise in building sub-components, developing electronics, design, printed circuit boards etc. with the expertise of their German partner in developing onboard computers, and technology for satellite bus (shell), in order to execute this mission.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Named 'AFR' (ABA First Runner), their maiden satellite is meant to be a technology demonstrator and will provide imaging services. "It hosts a wide-swath optical remote sensing payload with both panchromatic and multispectral imaging capabilities," the firm said. In a single image, the satellite will be capable of imaging a stretch of 70kms and that image will be of a 4.6m resolution, which means that it will have the capability to distinguish the objects that are 4.6m apart.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Queried about the users of the satellite data and the customers they serve, Srinavas Reddy told WION that their customers included those in the agriculture sector, banking (land survey, insurance) and even ocean monitoring. He added that their business model was to build and launch their own satellites and offer the data to customers from across sectors and they would even build satellites for customers and integrate customer payloads, as per the orders.&nbsp;According to the firm, they are already in the process of building their next set of satellites to demonstrate their versatile capability. Several of these satellites will be launched within the next 12-14 months, the firm added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Dragon capsule, atop a Falcon rocket, took off from the Kennedy Space Station in Cape Canaveral, Florida on Sunday. It delivered the crew members of Axiom Mission 2 (AX-2) for a weeklong stay at the ISS.</p>

<p>Former NASA astronaut Peggy Whitson pilots the AX-2 mission, which also includes paying customers pilot John Shoffner and mission specialists Ali Alqarni and Rayyanah Barnawi from Saudi Arabia.</p>

<p>Barnawi said, "Greetings from outer space, I'm here not only representing myself but representing the hopes and dreams of everyone back home, everyone in the region."&nbsp;</p>

<p>"It was a great launch, a great ride, we had a lot of fun on the way up and we're really excited to get a lot of work done up here," he added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Peggy Whitson, who is a former NASA astronaut who made the voyage three times in the past added said: "We really are excited to be here."&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>"It was a great launch, a great ride, we had a lot of fun on the way up and we're really excited to get a lot of work done up here."&nbsp;</p>

<p>On Sunday, NASA Administrator Bill Nelson said, "Congratulations to Axiom, SpaceX, and the Axiom Mission 2 crew on a successful launch! During their time aboard the International Space Station, the Ax-2 astronauts will carry out more than 20 scientific experiments, helping us better understand space radiation, weather in low-gravity conditions, and more."&nbsp;</p>

<p>Nelson added, "This mission is more proof of NASA’s commitment to help our industry partners develop the next generation of space technology and support a growing commercial space economy."&nbsp;</p>

<p>Last April, SpaceX sent the first all-private astronaut team to the ISS, a journey heralded by industry executives and NASA as a watershed moment in the commercialisation of low-earth orbit.&nbsp;</p>

<p>This is the second wholly private mission to visit the space station, following the first in April 2022. Ax-2 members will stay for roughly 10 days and conduct approximately 20 experiments.</p>

<p>NASA is trying to seed a commercial space economy in the region of space known as "Low Earth Orbit," allowing it to focus its own energies on missions deeper into the solar system and beyond.</p>

<p>The SpaceX rocket took off from Florida on Sunday, and the journey to the International Space Station, which orbits roughly 250 miles (400 kilometres) above the earth, took about 16 hours.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Rayyanah Barnawi and Ali Aqarni from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Commander Peggy Whitson and Pilot John Shoffner from the USA formed the quarter aboard the spacecraft which has been dubbed Freedom. It separated from the rocket nearly 12 minutes after the launch.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“Hello from outer space! It feels amazing to be viewing Earth from this capsule,” Barnawi said after settling into orbit.</p>

<p>Prior to the liftoff,&nbsp;Barnawi said her inclusion in the trip represented the dreams of the Saudi women, “I am honoured and happy to represent all the dreams and all the hopes of the people in Saudia Arabia. And also the hopes and dreams of all the women in the region.”</p>

<p>The crew in their dragon capsule would reach the International Space Station (ISS) by Monday evening and spend over a week before making the sojourn back home with a splashdown planned off the Florida coast.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Saudi pair is the first to ride a rocket to space since a Saudi prince ravelled on board the space shuttle Discovery in 1985. In what comes as a coincidence, the duo will be greeted by an astronaut from the UAE upon their arrival at the ISS.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The mission has been sponsored by the Saudi government. The kingdom last year signed a deal with Houston's Axiom Space, which arranges and manages private missions to space on US spacecraft for researchers and tourists.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Although Axiom has not revealed how much the kingdom is paying for the 10-day trip, the previous packages have hovered around the $55 million mark for individual passengers. NASA's current price list shows per-person, per-day charges of $2,000 for food and up to 1,500 for sleeping bags and other gear.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Videos were shared showing debris being blasted as far as the Gulf of Mexico, over 1,400 feet (425 metres) away, while a cloud of dust floated over a small town several miles (kilometres) away.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The plaintiffs included: The Center for Biological Diversity, the American Bird Conservancy, SurfRider Foundation, Save Rio Grande Valley (Save RGV) and a cultural heritage organization, the Carrizo-Comecrudo Nation of Texas.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The US-based news outlet wrote, "The FAA failed to take the requisite hard look at the proposed project and has concluded that significant adverse effects will not occur due to purported mitigation measures."&nbsp;</p>

<p>Musk, during the Twitter chat, said 30 out of 33 engines of Starship worked perfectly and reached 'full thrust', which was perhaps the reason the concrete launchpad was destroyed. Musk added that the pad damage was "quite small"&nbsp;and that it would take "six to eight weeks" to get the infrastructure prepared for another launch.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“The outcome was roughly in (line) with what I expected and, maybe slightly exceeded my expectations,” said the SpaceX CEO.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"The vehicle structural margins appear to be better than we expected. As we can tell the vehicle is actually doing somersaults towards the end and still staying intact."</p>

<h2><strong>FAA approval required</strong></h2>

<p>However, SpaceX is not allowed a relaunch opportunity until the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) completes its review that “will determine the root cause of the event and identify corrective actions the operator must implement to avoid a recurrence".&nbsp;</p>

<p>“We aren’t going to speculate on timelines. Safety will dictate the<strong>&nbsp;</strong>timeline," stated the FAA.</p>

<p>In her post, Withnall said she was "hoping a spaceship would land and aliens would hop out" but Don Hampton of the University of Alaska Fairbanks Geophysical Institute said this event wasn't exactly related to a UFO.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Hampton told The Associated Press that "when they do that at high altitudes, that fuel turns into ice. And if it happens to be in the sunlight, when you're in the darkness on the ground, you can see it as a sort of big cloud, and sometimes it's swirly. <p>Over the last four years, Elon Musk's companies have purchased 3,500 acres&nbsp;in the Austin area. This is equal to&nbsp;land four times the size of New York's massive Central Park. This figure is based on county deeds and other land records.</p>

<p>Citing local real-estate and land officials, WSJ says that the size of the land the Twitter CEO owns might actually be more — as much as 6,000 acres.</p>

<h2><strong>Why would Musk's employees leave their houses and move there?</strong></h2>

<p>The housing in Snailbrook will be available to Elon Musk's employees at reduced rents.</p>

<p>Starting last year, Boring employees could apply for cheaper homes with rents starting from just $800 a month for two or three-bedroom houses. This is around three times cheaper than the current market rate.</p>

<p>Currently, the average rent in Bastrop, Texas, as per real-estate listing company Zillow Group Inc stands at around $2,200 a month.</p>

<p>Before Texas, California was Musk's home. However, the billionaire left his longtime home some two years back. His companies, Tesla and The Boring Company, also had their headquarters moved from California to Texas.</p>

<p>This, as per a 2021 statement by the Tesla CEO, is because California is the land of "overregulation, overlitigation, overtaxation".</p>

<h2><strong>Will the billionaire live in Snailbrook?</strong></h2>

<p>Yes, the report citing 'people familiar with the plans' claims that the plans for Snailbrook include a project to build a private residential compound for Musk.</p>

<p>However, this private compound won't be located within the rest of the employee housing. It'll be at some distance from the planned town.</p>

<p>Texas, as per WSJ, has "fewer zoning laws and environmental and labour requirements, and has vast swaths of loosely regulated land".&nbsp;Additionally, Texas does not impose corporate income tax or income or capital gains taxes on individuals.</p>

<p>Even as the plans and construction for Snailbrook town progress at breakneck speed, residents of the area aren't too happy. David Barrow, who runs a farm in Bastrop, is worried the new projects could threaten the Colorado River's water quality.</p>

<p>His worries may be justified. Recently, the Boring Company applied for a permit from Texas state environmental authorities. This permit seeks to discharge up to 140,000 gallons of industrial wastewater a day into the Colorado River.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"I would like to know what is actually being sprayed, what they’re actually building, and who is going to hold them accountable," says the farmer.</p>

<p>Adena Lewis, the county’s director of tourism and economic development, however, says she has no concerns that the company's development could harm the river or surrounding farmland. Despite this, after being approached by the county's farmers, State Senator Sarah Eckhardt requested a public environmental hearing.</p>

<p>"We’re going to need to have more of a conversation and be able to verify the assertions that these companies are making with regard to the discharge permit into the Colorado River," she said. The hearing is scheduled for this month.</p>

<p>The SpaceX launch vehicle, which is carrying NASA astronauts Stephen Bowen and Woody Hoburg, the United Arab Emirates Sultan Al-Neyadi and Russian cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev, lifted off from NASA’s Kennedy Space Centre in Cape Canaveral, Florida on Thursday at 12:34 am ET.</p>

<p>The Crew Dragon, which was carrying the astronauts, got detached from the rocket after it reached orbit, and as per estimates, it will spend about one day manoeuvring through space before it gets linked up with the space station. As per scientists, the capsule should dock at 1:17 a.m. ET Friday.</p>

<p>The launch of Crew Dragon on Thursday was the second attempt to blast off the mission, called Crew-6, into space. The first launch attempt failed on Monday.</p>

<p>During the live broadcast of the launch, officials stated that ground systems engineers had decided to call off the launch when less than three minutes were left on the clock.</p>

<p>The engineers stated that an issue was detected with a substance called triethylaluminum triethylboron, or TEA-TEB, which is a highly combustible fluid that is used to ignite the engines of Falcon 9 rocket at liftoff.</p>

<p>As per NASA, the problem started as the fluid moved from a holding tank on the ground into a “catch tank”. “After a thorough review of the data and ground system, NASA and SpaceX determined there was a reduced flow back to the ground TEA-TEB catch tank due to a clogged ground filter,” as per an update shared by NASA on its website early on Wednesday.</p>

SpaceX international crew blasts off for space station mission

<p>SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket will lift off on Monday (February 27) and take two NASA astronauts, a Russian cosmonaut and an astronaut from Unite Arab Emirates (UAE) to International Space Station (ISS).</p>

<p>The SpaceX Dragon Crew-6 mission is set to lift off from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida at 1:45 am (0645 GMT). Weather conditions are expected to be near perfect.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Crew Dragon capsule, called Endevour, will dock with the ISS at 0738 GMT on Tuesday. NASA expressed confidence about the launch</p>

<p>"Countdown to liftoff!..." tweeted NASA while promoting its livestream of the launch.</p>

<p>NASA's Stephen Bowen and Warren Hoburg, Russia's Andrey Fedyaev and Sultan al-Neyadi of the United Arab Emirates are to spend six months on the orbiting space station.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Neyadi, 41, will be the fourth astronaut from an Arab country and the second from the oil-rich UAE to journey to space; his compatriot Hazzaa al-Mansoori flew an eight-day mission in 2019.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Neyadi described the upcoming mission as a "great honor." &nbsp;</p>

<p>Hoburg, the Endeavour pilot, and Fedyaev, the Russian mission specialist, will also be making their first space flights.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Fedyaev is the second Russian cosmonaut to fly to the ISS aboard a SpaceX rocket. NASA astronauts fly regularly to the station on Russian Soyuz capsules.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Space has remained a rare venue of cooperation between Moscow and Washington since the Russian offensive in Ukraine placed the two in sharp opposition.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Such exchanges have continued despite those tensions.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Bowen, a veteran of three space shuttle missions, said politics rarely come up while in space.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"We're all professionals. We keep focused on the mission itself," the mission commander said. "It's always been a great relationship we've had with cosmonauts once we get to space."&nbsp;</p>

<p>While aboard the ISS, the Crew-6 members will conduct dozens of experiments including studying how materials burn in microgravity and researching heart, brain and cartilage functions.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The current crew is the sixth to be transported by a SpaceX rocket to the ISS. The Endeavour capsule has flown into space three times.&nbsp;</p>

SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket will lift off on Monday (February 27) and take two NASA astronauts, a Russian cosmonaut and an astronaut from Unite Arab Emirates (UAE) to International Space Station (ISS).

The SpaceX Dragon Crew-6 mission is set to lift off from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida at 1:45 am (0645 GMT). Weather conditions are expected to be near perfect. The Crew Dragon capsule, called Endevour, will dock with the ISS at 0738 GMT on Tuesday. NASA expressed confidence about the launch "Countdown to liftoff!..." tweeted NASA while promoting its livestream of the launch. NASA's Stephen Bowen and Warren Hoburg, Russia's Andrey Fedyaev and Sultan al-Neyadi of the United Arab Emirates are to spend six months on the orbiting space station. Neyadi, 41, will be the fourth astronaut from an Arab country and the second from the oil-rich UAE to journey to space; his compatriot Hazzaa al-Mansoori flew an eight-day mission in 2019. Neyadi described the upcoming mission as a "great honor."  Hoburg, the Endeavour pilot, and Fedyaev, the Russian mission specialist, will also be making their first space flights. Fedyaev is the second Russian cosmonaut to fly to the ISS aboard a SpaceX rocket. NASA astronauts fly regularly to the station on Russian Soyuz capsules. Space has remained a rare venue of cooperation between Moscow and Washington since the Russian offensive in Ukraine placed the two in sharp opposition. Such exchanges have continued despite those tensions. Bowen, a veteran of three space shuttle missions, said politics rarely come up while in space. "We're all professionals. We keep focused on the mission itself," the mission commander said. "It's always been a great relationship we've had with cosmonauts once we get to space." While aboard the ISS, the Crew-6 members will conduct dozens of experiments including studying how materials burn in microgravity and researching heart, brain and cartilage functions. The current crew is the sixth to be transported by a SpaceX rocket to the ISS. The Endeavour capsule has flown into space three times. SpaceX Crew Dragon preps for lift-off, to dock with ISS 

<p>Elon Musk's SpaceX is racing to make wi-fi available in airplanes with a rollout of Starlink Aviation. The constellation of thousands of Starlink satellites already in orbit around the Earth will be used to make internet available, for now, in private jets. To facilitate this, Starlink Aviation is offering customers a USD 150,000 airplane antenna. Charges for the antenna would be one-time. On top of that the customers will have to shell out USD 12,500 to 25,000 per month for the internet service in their private jet.</p>

<p>These customers, likely millionaires and billionaires, would be able to use internet with speeds of up to 350 Mbps. This is enough for video conferences and even gaming.</p>

<p>Booking for such a connection can be made now by paying USD 5000. Starlink Aviation will begin delivering terminals in mid-2023.</p>

<p>The competition for airborne connectivity is heating up.</p>

<p>In addition to Starlink, Britain-backed satellite operator OneWeb is courting airlines and private jets. The market is currently dominated by companies such as Inmarsat and its rival ViaSat.</p>

<p>OneWeb on Tuesday announced an agreement with in-flight broadband giant Panasonic Avionics, which offers service to some 70 airlines, to market and sell OneWeb's broadband service to airlines by mid-2023.</p>

<p>Britain's competition regulator last week referred Viasat's planned takeover of rival Inmarsat for an in-depth investigation over concerns the tie-up could hamper new competition in the aviation connectivity market and increase prices for airlines' on-board Wi-Fi.</p>

<p>SpaceX plans to offer Starlink internet connectivity to Hawaiian Airlines planes next year. The company offers the service for maritime customers and RVs, and already has tens of thousands of individual consumers paying $110 a month with a $599 terminal.</p>
