Episodes four, five, and six highlighted the couple's wedding, gave a glimpse at their reception, and spoke of Meghan's deteriorating mental health and her 2020 miscarriage, and ultimately their decision to quit as working members of the family. 
 
In the final episode, Meghan opened up about the miscarriage she suffered from in July 2020. She cited key stressors in her life at the time, including moving into their new home in Santa Barbara, California, issues with her father, and unrelenting media coverage.

"I was pregnant. I really wasn't sleeping. The first morning that we woke up in our new home is when I miscarried,” Meghan said. 
Harry added, “I believe my wife suffered a miscarriage because of what the Mail did,” referencing Britain’s Mail on Sunday.&nbsp; 
In 2019, the newspaper published a private letter Meghan sent to her father, Thomas Markle. The Duchess of Sussex later won a legal battle against the newspaper’s publisher. 
 
"I watched the whole thing,” Harry continued, “Now, do we absolutely know the miscarriage was created, caused by that? Of course we don’t. But bearing in mind the stress that that caused, the lack of sleep and the timing of the pregnancy, how many weeks in she was, I can say, from what I saw, that miscarriage was created by what they were trying to do to her."

The series also saw Meghan speaking about her depression and revealing how she struggled with suicidal thoughts amid all the bad press around her and her father's relationship.&nbsp; 
 
"All of this will stop if I’m not here. And that was the scariest thing about it, it was such clear thinking,” Meghan said at one point.&nbsp; 
Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland too said how it “really broke” her heart when Meghan told her she wanted to take her own life.

“To just constantly be picked at by these vultures, just picking away at her spirit, that she would actually think about not wanting to be here … that’s not an easy one for a mom to hear you know. And I can’t protect her. H (Harry) can’t protect her,” Ragland added. 
Harry also admitted that he didn’t deal with Meghan’s deteriorating mental health well in the beginning.&nbsp; 
“I knew she was struggling; we were both struggling, but I never thought it would get to that stage. The fact it got to that stage I felt angry and ashamed,” Harry recounted, adding, “I dealt with it as institutional Harry as opposed to husband Harry.”

Meghan stated that she thought she would seek help but wasn't allowed as there were concerns about how it would affect the institution's image.&nbsp;

Harry's exploitation pause is emblematic of British moral bankruptcy when it comes to addressing every prevailing matter under the sun&nbsp;but Britain's imperial past. To pop culture, the portrayal of British tabloidism and the Royal family's perceived mistreatment of Meghan and Harry may be held as important if not significant. But to history, their current Netflix outing is a futile exercise in self-glorification.&nbsp;

If Harry's failure to address, if not apologise, for Britain's colonial crimes was another leaf off the book of royal ignorance for the roots of their royalty, Meghan's failure to address the same represents a moment in history when generational trauma about colonial exploits is being brushed under the carpet.&nbsp;

Meghan said that during the time she played Rachel Zane in NBC's 'Suits', she would visit India in hiatus. "I was writing op-eds about&nbsp;self-worth and about being biracial and volunteer work." Doesn't being biracial consist of a fundamental understanding of generational subjugation by colonialism?&nbsp;

To societies where an individual's self worth is derived as much personally as it is from family members and generations before them, Meghan Markle's&nbsp;depiction of self-worth alongside an intentional ignorance of colonialism represents a revelatory moment of disappointment in today's hyper-connected world.

Given the outsized role Britain played in disseminating racism around the world with its colonialism and slavery exploits, even a six-episodes long exercise for ‘setting the record straight’ – without any apologetic reckoning for Britain’s colonial past – is a royal PR effort dead at arrival.

Prince Harry looked set to turn his fire on his brother William on Thursday, as Netflix airs the final episodes of the docuseries about the disgruntled royal and his wife Meghan.

One trailer for the last three instalments of "Harry &amp; Meghan", released last week, already escalated the row between the brothers, who are reportedly now no longer on speaking terms.

In an apparent reference to Buckingham Palace, Harry, 38, accused his family of "institutional gaslighting" and claimed they were "happy to lie to protect my brother but were never willing to tell the truth to protect us".

Another trailer, released on Wednesday saw Meghan's lawyer, Jenny Afia, alleging a briefing war against the couple by the palace "to suit other people's agendas".

Meghan's friend Lucy Fraser added: "Meg became this scapegoat for the palace.

"And so they would feed stories on her whether they were true or not to avoid other less favourable stories being printed."

Afia said the "barrage of negative articles" about the breakdown of Meghan's relationship with her father was "the final straw in a campaign of negative, nasty coverage about her".&nbsp;

Harry and Meghan, 41, sensationally quit royal life in early 2020 and moved to North America, from where they have launched a series of broadsides about the royal family.

In the first three episodes released last Thursday, the couple -- also known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex -- criticised the royal family for "unconscious" racial bias.

They accused the palace of failing to protect Meghan and Harry's mother Diana against tabloid excesses.

Most of their criticisms were directed at the media.

But direct mention of William, 40, in the latest trailer confirmed suspicions that the more pointed criticisms may have been saved for last.

Daily Mail royal correspondent Rebecca English said "the gloves are off" while her counterpart at ITV, Chris Ship, said, "It's getting dirty."

Suggestions that his brother and his entourage were to blame for the negative coverage that Harry and Meghan received was "a dramatic escalation", he added.

Business as usual' -

So far the palace has declined to respond to the programme and disputed claims by Netflix that they were approached to comment on the contents of the series.

Senior royals, led by Harry's father King Charles III, are expected to attend a Christmas carol concert on Thursday in a demonstration of "business as usual".

But commentators suggested they may be forced to act if criticism gets personal, as Harry and Meghan faced calls to give up their royal titles -- or have them removed.

Last week, Harry appeared to take a dig at his older brother and his wife Catherine.

"With many people in the family, especially the men, there can be a temptation or an urge to marry someone who would fit in the mould," he said.

Netflix said last week's episodes recorded 81.55 million viewing hours globally -- "the highest view hours of any documentary title in a premiere week".

Several British newspapers said the docuseries was an effective declaration of "war" by the couple.

They have already faced claims of trying to sabotage William's first trip to the United States as heir with the release of the first trailer.

A December 9 YouGov poll indicated that the docuseries, which comes three months after the death of Queen Elizabeth II, had further dented Harry and Meghan's popularity in the UK.

Harry and Meghan saw their negative ratings with the British public fall to -26 percent and -39 percent after the programmes, from -13 percent and -32 percent before.

Only Harry's disgraced uncle Prince Andrew, who earlier this year settled a US civil claim for sexual assault out of court without admitting liability, was less popular.&nbsp;

He had a -79 percent rating.

The second trailer of the series dropped on social media on Monday and gave a glimpse of what's in store for Thursday's episodes.

Harry also claimed that he and the former American actress were treated differently from his older brother, Prince William.

The holiday season is here! King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla released their official Christmas card recently. This is their first official card as the head of state.&nbsp;

The card features a photo of the King and Queen Consort during the annual Braemar Highland Gathering at Princess Royal &amp; Duke of Fife Memorial Park in Scotland.

"We’re pleased to share this year’s Christmas Card from The King and The Queen Consort," the family shared on Twitter.

Longtime royal photographer Samir Hussein was credited for taking the photograph which was "taken at the Braemar Games in September 2022."

Sticking to traditions, the candid snap was embossed in red ink and accompanied by a short and sweet message from the couple.&nbsp;

Racism. Check. Blaming the media. check. Speaking in pronouns about the British royal family. Check. &nbsp;Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's new docu-series 'Harry &amp; Meghan,'&nbsp;which had unsettled the British press and reportedly even the royal family with just a trailer, premiered the first three episodes on Netflix on Thursday. Considering the hype around the show, I'd hoped that the couple would perhaps go all out in narrating their story on why they decided to step away from the family (they kept calling it the institution throughout the show). But the first three episodes (each an hour long) did not offer anything new. The couple did not mention anything that we already didn't know about the British royal family or even the paparazzi culture in the UK.

At one point in the first episode, Meghan Markle says, “When the stakes were this high, doesn’t it make more sense to hear our story from us?” And what did we get to know from them? That they had a whirlwind romance that spanned over two continents, that they had first checked each other out on Instagram, and that they loved documenting their meets, dates, walks, and family time like most millennial couples do in the age of social media. Wow, such a big revelation!

The couple spoke in vague pronouns while mentioning the royal family and the media blurring the lines on who they were really putting the blame on. That British media and the royal family have had a love-hate relationship over decades is a known fact. Harry only reiterated it once again, recalling how his mother, the late Princess Diana had fallen prey to it and how he felt the need to protect his family from the same toxic behaviour.

Ironically, it is the same media that's helped the royal family to build an image and create a bridge with the public over the years carefully brushing past its horrifying colonising history. In an era where monarchy the world over is in redundancy, the curiosity and craze around the British royal family continue - primarily because it is fuelled by the media.

Unfortunately, Meghan and Harry have had a very public life- both individually and as a couple. Had Meghan not married Harry, she perhaps would have continued a career in showbusiness which again is aided to a great extent by the media. The two feed off each other.

There's no doubt that the press has been vile on many occasions towards Meghan Markle. Especially bringing unnecessary details about her dysfunctional family in the US, to public focus in the UK. When the couple made the hard decision to step out of the royal family to live a life away from the public eye, I, like many felt it was rather a brave move on their part, especially Harry's. A man who was a product of a broken marriage, but who was shielded by wealth, comfort, and royalty - Harry did take a brave step to move to the US, away from the shadows of his prominent family, attempting to create his own identity. But in the past two years, the only time Harry and Meghan have made headlines is when they have dragged or blamed the British royal family. They are feeding off their past glory, isn't it?

The couple has also had a rather public life post-Megxit. A deal with Netflix, a podcast, books and memoirs, and a life that cannot really be called private, Harry and Meghan are still very much part of the public discourse. So much for wanting privacy.

The three episodes also highlighted how Meghan, who is of mixed parentage, was made aware of her colour post-marriage by 'them'. Meghan pointed out how her colour was not a matter of concern for her until she married Harry. The couple had spoken about facing racism in the royal family during a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021. Back then they had not specified who that member was who had raised concerns about their son, Archie's skin colour. A year down the line, when so much has been written about their accusations, they still steered clear of naming anyone. So how was this really an explosive docu-series?

Harry and Meghan also appeared tone deaf in the addressal of racism and discrimination. Harry comes from a family that had for centuries colonized half of the world. They may have redeemed themselves over the years with carefully curated images in the public eye but the fact of the matter is that the family still hasn't ever openly addressed the horrific past or the grievous mistakes the ancestors had made in so many of the countries. While the episodes do touch upon the family's colonising history, Brexit which made Britain even more secluded, and racial injustice, it never really had Harry talk about the stoic silence that the family maintained all throughout.

The hype around the docuseries also speaks a lot about the audience and the media which has for decades hyped up an establishment that needs to be completely redundant in modern times. Monarchy is dead and so should the interest in royal families. Maybe it is time to introspect- why can't we shrug off our own colonial past and ignore the royal family? I am all for cheering Harry and Meghan if they bring social change to society, but why is it needed to get into details of a family and its internal problems?&nbsp;

Netflix series controversy: Meghan, Harry could lose princely status

It's been almost three years since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle left their roles as senior members of the British royal family and settled in the US with their children, yet the controversy and drama around their exit continue to grab the headlines.&nbsp; 
 
Their latest docu-series on Netflix, which was released on Netflix on Thursday is being touted as an explosive one and reports claim the show is bound to further the gap between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and the royal family.&nbsp; 
 
A former employee at Buckingham Palace has brewed up fresh controversy against the upcoming docu-series of Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle. 
As per The New York Post, the employee, who claimed to be bullied by Markle, reached out to the British monarchy to fire back at the allegations made in the upcoming docu-series, 'Harry &amp; Meghan'. 
 
In an interview with the Times, the employee said that the only way the allegations can be cleared is through the removal of restrictions in the non-disclosure agreements of the staff. 
 
"The only way to end it once for good is for us to be allowed to speak, and for the palace to firmly reject their lies," The New York Post quoted the former employee.&nbsp;"It's emotionally draining. It feels like there`s no end to it," the employee added. 
 
In the one-minute trailer for the docu-series released on Netflix, Prince Harry was heard saying, "There`s a hierarchy of the family....You know, there's leaking, but there's also planting of stories. No one knows the full truth. We know the full truth". 
 
The former employee responded back saying, "They always use vague terms 'the truth,' 'my truth,' but nothing concrete is said."&nbsp; 
 
The ex-staff added that Markle conveyed her side of stories through journalist Omid Scobie. 
 
"She knows we can't financially protect ourselves by going to court, so she keeps pushing. It`s all a game for her. And she is loving it. I certainly have chosen to remain silent out of respect for the crown, but if they keep attacking us and our characters, reputation, et cetera, we need to feel we are equally supported by the royal family."&nbsp;

The Ripple of Hope Award has been given out to numerous leaders for the last 50 years. The award is given to those leaders in "government, business, advocacy, and entertainment" who have committed to "social change." 
 
"At the helm of major corporations, this year's laureates have prioritized equity, inclusivity, and sustainability in the workplace and the world," the organisation's website state.&nbsp;

Harry and Markle were picked to receive the award this year in "recognition of their work on racial justice, mental health, and other social impact initiatives through their Archewell Foundation." 
 
"When The Duke and Duchess accepted our award laureate invitation back in March, we were thrilled. The couple has always stood out for their willingness to speak up and change the narrative on racial justice and mental health around the world," Kerry Kennedy, president of Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights and Robert F Kennedy's daughter, said in a statement.

She continued, "They embody the type of moral courage that my father once called the 'one essential, vital quality for those who seek to change a world that yields most painfully to change.'"

The event was emceed by Alec Baldwin who made a rare public appearance following the tragic incident on the sets of 'Rust' in 2021.&nbsp;

The Sun's photographer Doug Seeburg was reportedly captured in the photo while attending the July 2011 premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 at Trafalgar Square. The photo was used before the Duke of Sussex said in the trailer, “I had to do everything I could to protect my family” in a voice-over. 
 
Many have pointed out that it was a careless error from Netflix and stated that the image was found to be the first search result under “paparazzi” on the stock image site Alamy. 
 
“I don’t imagine Harry would have realised, but Netflix have been careless here as it weakens Harry’s comment about protecting his family," author and royal expert &nbsp;Ingrid Seward said.&nbsp; 
 
The Sun photographer recalled that “It was a huge event. Crowds and crowds of fans had turned out in the rain and camped overnight to see the actors. There were no members of the royal family there,” he said.

Britain's&nbsp;Prince&nbsp;Harry, singer Elton John and other individuals have launched legal action against the publisher of the Daily Mail newspaper, alleging phone tapping and other breaches of privacy, a law firm for some of the group said on Thursday.

Associated Newspapers, a publisher of the Daily Mail, The Mail on Sunday and the Mail Online, one of the most widely read news websites in the world, said it "utterly and unambiguously" denied the allegations.

The others involved in the litigation are the actresses Elizabeth Hurley and Sadie Frost, Elton John's husband and filmmaker David Furnish, and Doreen Lawrence, the mother of Black teenager Stephen Lawrence who was murdered in a racist attack in 1993.

The individuals had become aware of "highly distressing" evidence revealing they had been victims of breaches of privacy by Associated Newspapers, law firm Hamlins said in a statement.

It said the breaches included placing listening devices inside people's cars and homes, commissioning the bugging of live, private telephone calls, payment of police officials for sensitive information, and impersonating individuals to obtain medical records.

"They have now therefore banded together to uncover the truth, and to hold the journalists responsible fully accountable, many of whom still hold senior positions of authority and power today," Hamlins said in its statement.

Hamlins said it was representing&nbsp;Harry, younger son of King Charles, and Frost, while Lawrence, Hurley, John and Furnish are being represented by the law firm gunnercooke.

"We utterly and unambiguously refute these preposterous smears which appear to be nothing more than a pre-planned and orchestrated attempt to drag the Mail titles into the phone hacking scandal concerning articles up to 30 years old," a spokesman for the publisher said.

"These unsubstantiated and highly defamatory claims - based on no credible evidence - appear to be simply a fishing expedition by claimants and their lawyers, some of whom have already pursued cases elsewhere."

Harry, the Duke of Sussex, has already brought a number of lawsuits against Associated Newspapers' publications.

He is currently suing the Mail on Sunday for libel over an article which stated he had tried to keep secret details of his legal fight to reinstate his police protection, and last year won damages from the same paper over claims he had turned his back on the Royal Marines.

His wife Meghan also won a privacy case against the publisher last December for printing a letter she had written to her estranged father.

The couple's relations with Britain's tabloid press collapsed following their marriage in 2018, and they have previously said they would have "zero engagement" with four major British papers, including the Daily Mail, accusing them of false and invasive coverage.

Media intrusion was a major factor they cited in their decision to step down from royal duties and move to the United States two years ago.

Elton John also defended the couple himself after newspapers accused them of hypocrisy for using his private jet for a flight to stay at his home in the south of France while calling for action to tackle climate change.

A spokesperson for the couple said they had no comment beyond the Hamlins' statement.

Others involved in the action have also previously brought legal action against major media organisations. Frost was awarded 260,250 pounds ($290,595.15) compensation in 2015 after she and seven other celebrity figures sued Mirror Group Newspapers for hacking messages on their phones.

Hurley, John and Furnish also settled phone-hacking claims against News Group Newspapers – publisher of the now-defunct News of the World – shortly before trial in 2019.

Former staff of Meghan Markle branded the Duchess of Sussex a “narcissistic sociopath” who was carefully plotting her exit from the royal palace, a new book has contended.

The book, called ‘Courtiers: the Hidden Power Behind the Crown’, written by The Times' royal correspondent Valentine Low, claims that the royal aides were treated poorly by Prince Harry and Meghan, and they began calling themselves the ‘Sussex Survivors Club’, reports The Mirror newspaper.

Speaking to the author, one of the ex-staff said, “She wanted to be rejected, because she was obsessed with that narrative from Day One.”

The book details what had transpired in the run-up to the couple’s departure and the kind of relationship they shared with their aides.
