While another video shared online, probably by the protesters show some men and women standing outside the office, hurling eggs towards the establishment while raising slogans as traffic continues to move on the adjoining road.&nbsp;The videos since being shared online have gone viral, with the TMC alleging BJP supporters of plotting the incident.&nbsp;Interestingly, the incident came on a day the Calcutta High Court came down heavily on the BJP-led Bengal government over a series of egg-hurling incidents against TMC leaders. Indian law enforcement agency, the Enforcement Directorate (ED), has filed a money laundering case against All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Mahua Moitra and businessman Darshan Hiranandani in connection with an alleged cash-for-queries scam case, news agency PTI reported on Tuesday (Apr 2) citing official sources.&nbsp;

Moitra, a former Member of Parliament from Krishnanagar seat in the state of West Bengal, was expelled from the Lok Sabha for "unethical conduct" last year in December. However, she challenged her expulsion and moved the Supreme Court.&nbsp;

She has been renominated by the party as its candidate from the Krishnanagar Lok Sabha seat in West Bengal for the upcoming election.&nbsp;

The Lokpal of India, the anti-corruption authority, on Tuesday (Mar 19) ordered the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to register and probe the cash-for-query case against Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Mahua Moitra.&nbsp;

The investigation will be under the Prevention of Corruption Act (PCA) and the CBI has been asked to submit findings within six months.&nbsp;

"We direct the CBI, under Section 20(3)(a) to investigate all aspects of the allegations made in the complaint, and submit a copy of the Investigation Report within a period of six months from the date of receipt of this order."&nbsp;

The order came in response to a charge filed by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Lok Sabha member Nishikant Dubey, who claimed Moitra had asked questions in the Lower House of Parliament in exchange for cash and gifts from Dubai-based businessman Darshan Hiranandani.

"House number 9B Telegraph Lane occupied by Mahua Moitra, was fully vacated by 10 am this morning (January 19, 2024) and the possession was handed over by her lawyers to the Directorate of Estates, who are inspecting and engaged in due process. Premises were vacated before authorities arrived and no eviction took place at all," said Moitra's office as quoted by news agency ANI.

Mahua Moitra was expelled from Lok Sabha, the lower chamber of Parliament of India, last month. She received an eviction notice earlier this week from authorities asking her to vacate the bungalow allotted by the government.

Expelled Indian MP Mahua Moitra vacates government bungalow, says 'not evicted'

All India Trinamool Congress leader Mahua Moitra, who was at the centre of the 'cash for query' controversy and was expelled from the lower house of the Indian parliament on December 8, has now been asked by the Directorate of Estates to vacate the government bungalow provided to her on an immediate basis. The department is the one that looks after the Central government's residential properties.&nbsp;

She was earlier given an order in which she was told to vacate the government-provided building by January 7. After this, Moitra challenged the order in the Delhi High Court which asked the former MP to approach the directorate regarding her request to keep on allowing her to stay in the accommodation provided.&nbsp;

The latest order by DoE where it is asking for Moitra to immediately vacate the premises was issued on Tuesday (Jan 16). The directorate on January 8 issued Moitra a show cause notice and sought her reply within three days asking the reason behind her inaction in vacating the house. Yet another order was issued on January 12.

Justice Subramoniun Prasad earlier noted that as per the rules, the authorities should be able to let a person stay at the accommodation for up to six months if a certain amount is paid. But that is only to hold true in exceptional cases.

Moitra was expelled from Lok Sabha, the lower chamber of Indian parliament, on December 8, after parliament's ethics committee recommended such action after finding her guilty of accepting gifts from a businessman in order to further his interests.

On December 8, during the heated debate in the parliament during which Moitra claimed she was not allowed to speak, India's Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi tabled motion to expel the former TMC MP for 'unethical conduct'. The motion was adopted by a voice vote.

Moitra had reacted sharply to her expulsion and alleged that the parliamentary committee was being weaponised by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Before her expulsion, Indian parliament's ethics committee had found Moitra guilty of "unethical conduct" and contempt of the House since she shared credentials of Lok Sabha members' portal with unauthorised people.

The parliamentary committee has also made recommendations that due to Moitra's "highly objectionable, unethical, heinous and criminal conduct", an intense, legal and institutional inquiry be initiated by the government in a time-bound manner.

Joshi's motion had said that Moitra's “conduct has further been found to be unbecoming as an MP for accepting gifts and illegal gratification from a businessman to further his interest, which is a serious misdemeanour and highly deplorable conduct” on her part.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Nishikant Dubey had filed the initial complaint against Moitra. Dubey had alleged, on the basis of complaint filed by Supreme Court lawyer Jai Anant Dehadrai, that Moitra had received gifts from businessman Darshan Hiranandani in exchange of asking questions in the parliament to mount attack on industrialist Gautam Adani and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
