UK: Rishi Sunak becomes Prime Minister after meeting King Charles at Buckingham Palace

<p>Following Queen Elizabeth II’s death, no royal would be staying permanently at Windsor Castle and Buckingham Palace, as King Charles III has decided to keep Clarence House as his residence temporarily.</p>

<p>According to DailyMail.com, the monarch will be waiting for the 370 million euros renovation of Buckingham Palace, which is expected to be completed in 2027.</p>

<p>However, it is reported that the King will use the available spaces for work and meetings.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“Refurbishment is very far behind schedule, but the Monarch should be living at Buckingham Palace,” a source previously told DailyMail.</p>

<p>“It's the heart of the monarchy in London, otherwise it risks becoming just a tourist attraction.&nbsp; We effectively have a king without a palace to live in.”</p>

<p>Further, there were speculations that Prince William and Princess Kate would move into Windsor but The Sun quoting a source reported there are now “no plans for them to leave Adelaide Cottage”.</p>

<p>Apart from that, Scotland’s Balmoral Castle is also expected to remain empty as no royals have decided to opt for it as their official residence. However, it will be opened up for tourists in the near future, the British daily reported.</p>

Following Queen Elizabeth II’s death, no royal would be staying permanently at Windsor Castle and Buckingham Palace, as King Charles III has decided to keep Clarence House as his residence temporarily. According to DailyMail.com, the monarch will be waiting for the 370 million euros renovation of Buckingham Palace, which is expected to be completed in 2027. However, it is reported that the King will use the available spaces for work and meetings. “Refurbishment is very far behind schedule, but the Monarch should be living at Buckingham Palace,” a source previously told DailyMail. “It's the heart of the monarchy in London, otherwise it risks becoming just a tourist attraction. We effectively have a king without a palace to live in.” Further, there were speculations that Prince William and Princess Kate would move into Windsor but The Sun quoting a source reported there are now “no plans for them to leave Adelaide Cottage”. Apart from that, Scotland’s Balmoral Castle is also expected to remain empty as no royals have decided to opt for it as their official residence. However, it will be opened up for tourists in the near future, the British daily reported. <p>King Charles III is scheduled to be crowned in a ceremony in May of the following year. Camilla, the Queen Consort, will also be crowned at the event. According to long-established plans, Camilla was going to be crowned wearing ceremonial attire adorned with the contentious Kohinoor diamond. According to The Telegraph, this may now be cancelled due to a dispute over who owns the diamond.</p>

<p>The Kohinoor, one of the biggest and most contentious diamonds in the world, was placed in the Queen Mother's crown in the 1930s and was supposed to be given to Camilla.</p>

Reports suggest Queen Consort Camilla may not be crowned with Kohinoor

<p>If you haven't been living under a rock, you must have seen King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla's latest photos from their first joint public engagement since the royal mourning period on social media. The now-viral pictures show that large crowds turned out on the streets of Dunfermline, Fife, north of Edinburgh to see and hopefully greet&nbsp;the new monarch.</p>

<p>For his Scotland visit,&nbsp;Charles wore a traditional kilt that matched Camilla's green coat. After greeting Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon and other leaders, the King spent some time shaking hands with his well-wishers.</p>

<p>The royal couple&nbsp;formally gave city status to Dunfermline on their visit. For those unaware, Dunfermline is the birthplace of the last British monarch born in Scotland, King Charles I, who reigned in the 17th century.</p>

<p>Dunfermline was among the many towns that received city status during the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.</p>

<p>Charles gave a speech during his Scotland visit. Addressing the people of Dunfermline, he said, "There could be no more fitting way to mark my beloved mother’s extraordinary life of service than by granting this honour to a place made famous by its own long and distinguished history, and by the indispensable role it has played in the life of our country."</p>

<p>"We gather to celebrate this great occasion but also to commemorate the life of Her late Majesty, whose deep love for Scotland was one of the foundations of her life," he added.</p>

If you haven't been living under a rock, you must have seen King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla's latest photos from their first joint public engagement since the royal mourning period on social media. The now-viral pictures show that large crowds turned out on the streets of Dunfermline, Fife, north of Edinburgh to see and hopefully greet the new monarch. For his Scotland visit, Charles wore a traditional kilt that matched Camilla's green coat. After greeting Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon and other leaders, the King spent some time shaking hands with his well-wishers. The royal couple formally gave city status to Dunfermline on their visit. For those unaware, Dunfermline is the birthplace of the last British monarch born in Scotland, King Charles I, who reigned in the 17th century. Dunfermline was among the many towns that received city status during the Platinum Jubilee celebrations. Charles gave a speech during his Scotland visit. Addressing the people of Dunfermline, he said, "There could be no more fitting way to mark my beloved mother’s extraordinary life of service than by granting this honour to a place made famous by its own long and distinguished history, and by the indispensable role it has played in the life of our country." "We gather to celebrate this great occasion but also to commemorate the life of Her late Majesty, whose deep love for Scotland was one of the foundations of her life," he added. King Charles III will not be attending the cop27 summit. According to reports, the king was reportedly advised by Prime Minister Liz Truss to not attend the event in Egypt.

<p>King&nbsp;Charles&nbsp;III will not travel to next month's COP27 climate summit in Egypt after UK Prime Minister Liz Truss "objected" to the avid environmentalist attending the meet, a report late Saturday said.</p>

King Charles III not to attend COP27 after 'objection' from PM Liz Truss: Report

<p>The funeral of Britain's longest-serving monarch, Queen Elizabeth II was a sombre affair. The 10 days of the royal wake featured both heartwarming moments and controversial ones.</p>

<p>Now, a day after the Queen was delivered to her final resting place, a few more of these "moments" have come to light. Let's take a look at what made the news:</p>

<h2><strong>Starting with the Royals. When Prince Harry didn't sing 'God Save the King'</strong></h2>

<p>A video from the funeral has taken the internet by storm. In it, Prince Harry can allegedly be seen not singing the British national anthem at his grandmother's funeral. His actions have been termed as "disrespectful".</p>

<p>While many are giving the royal flak others have also come to his rescue. Some have pointed out that the words have changed from 'God save the Queen' to 'King' and maybe he just needs some time to learn the new ones. Others pointed out that his lips are in fact moving, it's just that "He’s obviously not singing like he’s at karaoke."&nbsp;</p>

Queen's crush, 'disrespectful’ Prince Harry & more: Heart-warming, controversial moments from royal funeral

<p>Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, has sought a “one-to-one meeting” with King Charles III, a royal insider has claimed, saying that the “brave request” was made in an attempt to build the bridges between the two.</p>

<p>In a recent YouTube video, US-based entertainment and royals reporter Neil Sean said that Meghan had written to the new monarch for a private meeting before leaving for California.</p>

<p>Sean said that he received this information from a “very good source”, saying that the request for the solo meet probably came from Meghan because Harry could be “hot-headed” and prone to argue with his father.</p>

<p>“It would be an opportunity to clear the air, pull the rights from wrongs and explain some of the rationale behind what they’ve been doing for the past two years,” he said.</p>

<p>“Now, you have to admire Meghan’s self-belief, whatever you think.”</p>

<p>So far, it is unknown what would be the topic of their conversation, but Sean believes that it can either be related to their current standing within the royal family or perhaps to resolve their differences.</p>

This annual ritual commemorates the Gunpowder Plot, a failed attempt led by Guy Fawkes to blow up King James I and parliament in 1605. They will be followed by members of the Royal Company of Archers, who acted as bodyguards for Elizabeth II whenever she was in Scotland. Some detachments from other regiments in Britain and from the armed forces of the Commonwealth, a group of countries headed by the British monarch, will rejoin the funeral procession from Westminster Abbey to Wellington Arch at Hyde Park Corner near Buckingham Palace. - Elizabeth II's royal house - While members of the royal family led by the new King Charles III will follow the casket, following them will be members of the queen's royal household, including the most senior officer of the royal household, the lord chamberlain. In front of them will come the pipers and drummers of the Scottish and Irish regiments, and the Brigade of Gurkhas made up of soldiers from Nepal who are part of the armed forces. There will also be 200 Royal Air Force musicians. - 6,000 troops - Around 6,000 soldiers, sailors and air crew from the British armed forces will take part in the procession, Chief of the Defence Staff Admiral Tony Radakin told the BBC on Sunday. At several points along the route they will perform a royal salute, for example when they pass the Victoria Memorial commemorating the queen. "For all of us, this is our last duty for Her Majesty the Queen and it's our first prominent duty for His Majesty King Charles," he said.

Prince Charles has visited India many times in his life. But, this visit is also very&nbsp;memorable because of Padmini Kolhapure, who greeted&nbsp; His&nbsp;Royal Highness&nbsp;with a kiss, yes!&nbsp;</p>
