It also pointed out that RCB also posted a video by Indian cricket star Virat Kohli to draw the fans to its festivities.&nbsp;"On 04.06.2025, the RCB, unilaterally and without consultation/ permission from the Bangalore City Police, posted a photo at 7: 01 a.m on the official RCB handle on social media (Instagram, Facebook, "X") informing that there is free entry for people and inviting the public to participate in the Victory Parade, which would commence at Vidhana Soudha and conclude at Chinnaswamy Stadium. A second post on Social Media was made by RCB at 8:00 a.m. reiterating this information. Subsequently, on 04.06.2025, at 8:55 am, the RCB shared a video clip of Virat Kohli, on RCB's official handle @ @rcbtweets on X, in which he stated that the team intended to celebrate this victory with the people of Bengaluru city and RCB fans on 04.06.2025 in Bengaluru. Thereafter, RCB made one more post at 3:14 p.m. on 04.06.2024, announcing a Victory Parade to be held from Vidhana Soudha to the Chinnaswamy Stadium from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, stating that this victory parade would be followed by celebrations at the Chinnaswamy Stadium," the report said.&nbsp;The Karnataka government further said that the information about the distribution of free passes had not been communicated to the authorities by the RCB.&nbsp;"This post mentioned, for the first and only time, that free passes (limited entry) were available on shop.royalchallengers.com, and until this point, there had been no information regarding the disbursement of passes, implying that the event was open to all based on RCB's prior posts. The posts on RCB's official social media handles garnered immense engagement online ( with the first post receiving approximately 16 lakh views, the second post receiving approximately 4.26 lakh views, the third post receiving approximately 7.6 lakh views, and the fourth post receiving approximately 17 lakh views). Copies of these posts/announcements made by RCB on Social Media are produced herewith as Document No. 4 series (pg 56-61). This led to a public gathering of immense proportions, exceeding 3,00,000 individuals," it further added.&nbsp;The report said the turnout was far more than expected. It said the event organizers spread confusion by relaying messages at around 3.14 pm on the day of the incident that passes were required for entry, contradicting their earlier statements. "Mismanagement at the entry gates and delayed openings led to a stampede, resulting in injuries to seven police personnel. To prevent further unrest, the police permitted a restricted version of the event to proceed under controlled conditions," it added.&nbsp;Meanwhile,&nbsp;Karnataka Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao said today that the government wasn't trying to play a blame game. He said strict action will be taken against those responsible.&nbsp;"This is not a blame game here. If there has been some mishandling of the situation, we will take action... Since so many people died, we have to wait for the report before coming to any conclusion," he said.

The tigress was believed to be around 11 years and had been first camera-trapped in November 2014 when it was 6 to 8 months old. Officials suspect that the tigress had killed a cow and dragged it inside the forest. It partially consumed the kill and left when some miscreants poisoned the carcass. When the tigress returned with her cubs and consumed it, they all died.&nbsp;<h2>Conservationists raise questions</h2>&nbsp;Conservationists have raised questions over the death of five big cats in a day in Karnataka, which has the second-highest number of tigers after Madhya Pradesh. Karnataka currently has 563 tigers.&nbsp;They pointed out that the state government has been dragging its feet on declaring the 906 sq km sanctuary a tiger reserve, as it will help prevent the increasing commercialisation of the area, thereby bringing down wildlife conflict with humans.Villagers resort to poisoning amid the growing conflicts with wildlife, especially cattle thefts by the big cats.&nbsp;After the deaths, authorities have stepped up monitoring and commenced real-time surveillance with infrared cameras and intensified patrolling with GPS-based apps and software.&nbsp;The M.M. Hills Wildlife Sanctuary is spread over 906 sq km and is home to tigers, leopards, elephants, apart from a rich density of prey species.&nbsp;<h2>Centre sets up SIT to probe 5 tiger deaths in a day</h2>&nbsp;Meanwhile, the Centre has constituted a special investigation team (SIT) to probe the death of five tigers.&nbsp;The Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change constituted a two-member SIT, comprising Harini V, Assistant Inspector General, National Tiger Conservation Authority’s regional bureau in Bengaluru, and Thenmozhi V, Aisstant Inspector General of Forests, South Region, Wildlife Crime Control Bureau.&nbsp;&nbsp;The SIT has been told to submit its report within two weeks, while the state government has been requested to provide all logistical support and assistance to the team.&nbsp;&nbsp;Karnataka Forest Minister Eshwar Khandre had also issued an order setting up a six-member investigation team, led by B P Ravi, principal chief conservator of forest (EWPRT&amp;CC) and comprising five others, including wildlife expert Sanjay Gubbi.&nbsp;&nbsp;“If negligence by forest staff is found or if the deaths were caused by electrocution, poisoning or any other reason, criminal cases would be filed,” Khandre said.&nbsp;&nbsp;

When the remark sparked backlash in Karnataka, Haasan refused to apologise, stating he was not wrong.&nbsp; &nbsp;<h2>‘You want to make a profit from the people of Karnataka’</h2>On Tuesday, the court asked Kamal Haasan's counsel to clarify the actor's stand regarding tendering an apology and adjourned the matter until 2.30 pm. &nbsp;The bench noted that a prominent person like C Rajagopalachari had issued a similar statement in 1950 about the origins of the Kannada language and later apologised following protests, even though there was no commercial motive. "If such a big person can apologise, and a similar statement has been issued after 75 years, and there is a commercial motive..." the court observed. &nbsp;"You want to make a profit from the people of Karnataka, and you also maintain that you won't apologise. He said he was abused in Kannada, and then it turned violent from there on. 'God gave me the power not to retaliate,' he said as he recorded a video of himself and his wife in a car.&nbsp;The officer was seen bleeding in the video. Now, in a twist of events, CCTV footage has emerged.
The officer has been booked&nbsp;under Sections 109 (attempt to murder), 304 (snatching for theft), 324 (crime of mischief), 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 352 (intentional insult with an intent to provoke breach of peace), for further investigation.
In the CCTV footage, Wing Commander Shiladitya Bose was seen thrashing the biker. His wife, Squadron Leader Madhumita Dutta, was also seen trying to stop his aggression.
The police has taken the matter into cognisance, and as per news agency PTI, Deputy Commissioner Devaraj D said, "This is a case of road rage. An altercation took place between them&mdash; both attacked each other. The accused has been taken into custody. Around 6 am today, the Air Force officer was heading from his DRDO quarters to Kempegowda International Airport. His wife was driving, and he was seated beside her. An altercation broke out between the couple and a bike rider."

Kartikesh&nbsp;was informed by his neighbours about the incident when he was at the Karnataka Golf Association. He added, "I rushed home and found police and others already there. My father was lying in a pool of blood with injuries on his head and body. He was then taken to St John&rsquo;s Hospital. A broken bottle and a knife were found near his body. My mother Pallavi and sister Kriti used to fight with my father often. I strongly suspect they are involved in his murder."
His mother and sister are in police custody, and he urges the department to take legal action against them.

Karnataka Assembly Speaker UT Khader on Friday (March 21) suspended 18 Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs for causing a major disruption during the session over the ongoing ‘honey-trap’ controversy. The MLAs were suspended for disorderly conduct and for interrupting the proceedings of the House.
