<p>In her first ever magazine interview, Janhvi Kapoor opened up about why her mom Sridevi never wanted her to enter the film industry.</p>

<p>Janhvi, who turned cover girl for Vogue India`s June issue, was interviewed by filmmaker and mentor Karan Johar as he is the one launching her in Bollywood with ''Dhadak''.</p>

<p>The 21-year-old told Karan that Sridevi thought she wasn`t thick-skinned enough to survive in movies.</p>

<p>"She never wanted me to be an actress. She was more relaxed about Khushi getting into films. She thought I was naïve, that I wasn`t thick-skinned enough. She wanted us to live a more relaxed life. She loved what she did but you know it was intense," said Janhvi.</p>

<p>When the ''Ae Dil Hai Mushkil'' director asked if she feels a void that she does not have her mother to turn to, Janhvi said, "Of course. I could always be the baby with her. When I`d wake up, the first thing I`d do was ask for her. I`d need her to put me to sleep sometimes and she literally had to feed me.</p>

<p>"She added, "The day before she left for the wedding, I had to shoot, but I couldn`t sleep, so I was like, `I need you to come and put me to sleep.` But she was packing, so by the time she came to me I was half asleep. But I could feel her patting my head."</p>

<p>Janhvi further talked about how the untimely death of Sridevi has brought the four children of producer Boney&nbsp;Kapoor, Arjun, Anshula, Janhvi, and Khushi - together.</p>

<p>"It`s made us feel safe and secure. I think, even for Papa, it`s a source of comfort. It`s definitely tied us together. We`ve lost mom and I don`t think that`s a loss any of us will ever get over," she said.</p>

Karan Johar celebrates his birthday in New York

<p>The ever-so-charming, ever-so-stylish filmmaker-producer Karan Johar turns 46 today as he brings in his birthday in New York. Spending some time away from the hustle-bustle of Mumbai, Karan opted to take a solo trip to the States for unwinding from personal and professional commitments.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Talking about his professional work, it’s been a while we haven’t seen Karan Johar don his directorial cap and give us some amazing cinema, instead he has only been involved with films in the capacity of a producer. As a good news on his birthday, Karan revealed that we will soon see him as a director in a Hindi film. He said, "I have locked a screenplay and I am going to direct a film around mid-next year. I look forward to casting for it as soon as I come back from New York."</p>

<p>Meanwhile, Karan continues to be a favourite among all Bollywood stars. He was recently seen in a traditional attire at Sonam Kapoor’s wedding with Anand Ahuja in Mumbai. Also, he keeps posting pictures of his twins on Instagram along with those of his mother.&nbsp;</p>

'Lust Stories' trailer: Karan Johar, Dibakar Banerjee, Zoya Akhtar and Anurag Kashyap reunite for anthology film

<p>The stupendous success of <em>Baahubali</em> has ensured superstardom for its actors, especially its lead actor Prabhas. He is one of the most sought-after actors of Indian cinema currently, and Bollywood producers have been queuing up to work with the actor. Karan Johar, who had presented both <em>Baahubali: The Beginning </em>and <em>Baahubali: The Conclusion</em>, had earlier approached Prabhas for a film. But the project fell through as the actor demanded a whopping Rs 20 crores for the film- which for a debutant actor (Prabhas would be making his debut in Hindi films) was a lot.&nbsp;<br />

Reports now suggest that Johar has again approached Prabhas and the actor seems to have no dates free for the producer-filmmaker. Prabhas is currently working on <em>Saaho</em> which is taking up all his time and hence the actor has rejected Johar's offer once again.&nbsp;<br />

There is no bad blood between the two, though. In an earlier interview to a newspaper, the actor was all praises for Johar and said, "I made a good association with Karan Johar. If I want anything, I think I can ask him. He has helped us a lot," he said.<br />

Prabhas' next release after <em>Baahubali </em>will be <em>Saaho</em> which is being made at a budget of Rs 300 crores. The film also marks the debut of Shraddha Kapoor in the Southern film industry.&nbsp;</p>

Karan Johar to get his own statue at Madame Tussauds wax museum in London

<p>We <a href="http://www.wionews.com/india-news/entertainment-karan-johar-announces-fathers-dream-project-sanjay-dutt-and-madhuri-dixit-to-work-together-after-25-years-131103">announced</a> yesterday that Karan Johar revealed the star cast of Abhishek Varman’s next film titled <em>Kalank</em> which incidentally is Karan’s late father, Yash Johar’s dream project based in the 1940s.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Today, Sajid Nadiadwala and Karan Johar along with Varun Dhawan’s father David Dhawan kickstarted the film’s shoot with a mini get-together of-sorts. Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur were seen present with the makers.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, Varun Dhawan posted an Instagram story in which he wrote: “Day 1, Kalank” indicating that he is going to the shoot location.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The movie in all stars the likes of Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The film will be directed by Abhishek Varman who also made <em>2 States </em>starring Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt.&nbsp;The film will be jointly produced by Sajid Nadiadwala who said, “April 18, 2014, was when ‘2 States’ had released, and now on April 18, 2018, ‘Kalank’ begins its journey. This multi-starrer has a story that will cross all borders and will be historic in the true sense of the word. I am genuinely happy to be back with the team, as this film is special to all of us.”&nbsp;</p>

We announced yesterday that Karan Johar revealed the star cast of Abhishek Varman’s next film titled Kalank which incidentally is Karan’s late father, Yash Johar’s dream project based in the 1940s. Today, Sajid Nadiadwala and Karan Johar along with Varun Dhawan’s father David Dhawan kickstarted the film’s shoot with a mini get-together of-sorts. Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur were seen present with the makers. Meanwhile, Varun Dhawan posted an Instagram story in which he wrote: “Day 1, Kalank” indicating that he is going to the shoot location. The movie in all stars the likes of Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur. The film will be directed by Abhishek Varman who also made 2 States starring Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. Set in the 1940s, the film has to have an old-world charm and will be an epic drama. The film was said to have been named "Shiddat"&nbsp;initially and had Sridevi but due to her untimely death, Madhuri was asked to step in. <p>Describing the process of working on the film for his father as “an emotional journey”, Karan told a leading daily, “‘Kalank’ has been an emotional journey for me. A germ of an idea that I had nearly 15 years ago a film that was in pre-production stage helmed by my father. I am now proud to pass it on to the capable and visionary hands of our director, Abhishek. The film is a beautifully structured story by Shibani Bathija, and has an exceptionally fluid narrative and screenplay by Abhishek.”</p>

He had even visited Lahore to understand how the situation could have been in the ‘40s, but he couldn’t start the project. <p>Ever since Karan Johar revealed the female leads of upcoming film <em>Student Of The Year 2</em>, social media users are raising the issue of nepotism. Earlier this year, Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut raised the issue by saying that the Bollywood industry on a whole promotes nepotism and the deserving talent that exists in India is unable to come to fore because of this.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The second instalment of the franchise will launch Chunkey Panday’s daughter Ananya Panday and Mumbai businessman TV actress daughter Tara Sutaria.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Karan had yesterday tweeted the new film’s poster with the three main lead actors and wrote, " Here is the CLASS OF 2018! Ready...Set....See you in the theatres on 23 November 2018!" &nbsp;He introduced Tara’s photo and referred to her as “new admission to the class of 2018, the girl who is in it to win it” while introducing Ananya with: “And finally! Presenting ANANYA – joining class of 2018 at Saint Teresa! Welcome to the movies! #SOTY2.”</p>

<p>Soon after he tweeted, Twitterati started slamming Karan for being the “flag-bearer of nepotism”. Some even called him, “nepotism ka baap” and some said that Kangana Ranaut was right about the director.&nbsp;<br />

In an earlier interview, Karan was asked about Kangana and whether he does, in fact, promotes nepotism, to which he said, "I was not at all. I felt like I was attacked, she was the missile and I was the target. I was not being nepotistic or sexist, I was just like she has her opinion and she is giving her thoughts. She clearly learned those 12 lines and came and they were wonderful. Even I learn my lines for any interview, these are not criticism."<br />

He added, "She had an opinion, she is an exceptional talent and I have always said that. She has her opinion and she said it. Two weeks later I was given a platform and I said what I had to. Ever since Karan Johar revealed the female leads of upcoming film Student Of The Year 2, social media users are raising the issue of nepotism. <p>After delivering a successful hit in <em>Baaghi 2</em>, Tiger Shroff is back with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions’ <em>Student Of The Year 2 </em>with newcomers Tara Sutaria and Ananya Panday.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The new batch of students is here. After months of speculations, Karan Johar finally put all rumours to rest as he announced the leading ladies of his upcoming film <em>Student Of The Year 2</em>. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Produced by Dharma Productions and directed by Punit Malhotra, the film's male lead is Tiger Shroff.&nbsp;<br />

Tiger's inclusion in the film was announced long back and on Wednesday Karan introduced the two new fresh faces who will be inducted in the class of 2018- Tanya Sutaria and Ananya Panday.</p>

<p><strong>Who is Tara Sutaria?</strong></p>

<p>23-year-old Tara Sutaria may be making her debut in Bollywood with <em>Student Of The Year 2</em>, but the debutant is an established singer and a well-trained dancer who has been part of theatre since an early age.&nbsp;<br />

The debutant has sung for films <em>Taare Zameen Par</em>, <em>Guzaarish</em> and <em>David</em>. A Disney Channel VJ, she has toured across the country for her work and has collaborated with the likes of Louiz Banks and Mikey McCleary.</p>

<p>The director, Punit Malhotra, along with the male lead, Tiger Shroff, have started the principal photography of the film, which is a sequel to the 2012 film, directed by Karan Johar.&nbsp;Johar's Dharma Productions is backing the movie.<br />

<p>Indian film director, Karan Johar&nbsp;known for his work in&nbsp;Hindi films is a doting son too. &nbsp;He celebrated his mother,&nbsp;Hiroo Johar&#39;s 75th birthday in a grand way. &nbsp;It was attended by his close friends like Kareena Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Manish Malhotra, Kajol to name a few. &nbsp;</p>

<p>The two-part birthday party started with a brunch for all Ms Johar&#39;s close friends, followed by a grand party in the evening. The invites were customised with a bottle of champagne, cake and chocolates accompanied with white flowers for the guests. The venue was decorated with white flowers as Hiroo Johar is fond of white flowers.</p>

<p>Over 150 guests were invited for the party and the cuisine comprised of Chinese and Indian. The grand celebration included soulful music by Sonu Nigam. &nbsp;He sang songs like <strong>&nbsp;&ldquo;</strong>Har Ghadi Badal Rahi Hai Roop Zindagi&rdquo;, &ldquo;Lag Ja Gale&rdquo; and &ldquo;Ajeeb Dastan Hai Yeh&rdquo;<strong> </strong>to name a few.&nbsp;</p>

Karan Johar threw a grand bash to make his mother's birthday a memorable one

Indian film director, Karan Johar known for his work in Hindi films is a doting son too. He celebrated his mother, Hiroo Johar's 75th birthday in a grand way. It was attended by his close friends like Kareena Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Manish Malhotra, Kajol to name a few. The two-part birthday party started with a brunch for all Ms Johar's close friends, followed by a grand party in the evening. The invites were customised with a bottle of champagne, cake and chocolates accompanied with white flowers for the guests. The venue was decorated with white flowers as Hiroo Johar is fond of white flowers. Over 150 guests were invited for the party and the cuisine comprised of Chinese and Indian. The grand celebration included soulful music by Sonu Nigam. He sang songs like “Har Ghadi Badal Rahi Hai Roop Zindagi”, “Lag Ja Gale” and “Ajeeb Dastan Hai Yeh” to name a few. Karan Johar shared few pictures of the grand birthday celebration on social networking sites along with the new addition to the Johar family, Yash and Roohi, his two beautiful kids. He shared a collage of him and his mother and wrote, “Centre of my universe and the big love of my life!!! My mom is 75 today!!!" Sridevi, along with Boney Kapoor, and younger daughter Khushi had flown to UAE for nephew Mohit Marwah&#39;s wedding three weeks back. Post the wedding, Sridevi had stayed back in Dubai to spend some time with her sister. The actress died of accidental drowning in her hotel bathtub on 24th February. Janhvi had stayed back because of her shooting schedule.<br />
