Tim Walz calls Trump 'the smallest man who ever lived' in Taylor Swift-inspired jab

<p>John Legend has nothing but praise for pop star Taylor Swift. Right after the presidential debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, the ''Lover'' singer took her social media to reveal who she's going to vote for in this upcoming election.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Days after Swift revealed her political views, Legend&nbsp;shared how difficult it must have been for her to publicly support a particular candidate considering her huge fanbase.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In an interview with The Independent, the EGOT winner said, “It was always really difficult for Taylor to speak out for liberal and progressive candidates coming from the country music world, where the fanbase is a lot more conservative,”&nbsp;</p>

<p>Legend added, “It was riskier for her to start speaking out about politics than it is for me. I always respected the fact that she was willing to take that risk.”</p>

<p>The singer said he didn't mind losing some of his fans or friends over his views. For example, the singer is no longer friends with Kanye West, whose GOOD Music label released Legend’s debut studio album, <em>Get Lifted </em>in 2004.</p>

<p>“I’d rather be my authentic self than put on a mask or betray my principles. And if I lose a few fans here and there, I’ll be fine,'' he said.</p>

<p>On Sept 10, the ''Enchanted'' singer shared that she's endorsing Harris in this upcoming election.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Calling herself a childless cat lady, Taylor wrote, “Like many of you, I watched the debate tonight,” Ms. Swift wrote on Instagram.</p>

<p>“I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election. I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them,'' she wrote.&nbsp;</p>

John Legend has nothing but praise for pop star Taylor Swift. Right after the presidential debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, the ''Lover'' singer took her social media to reveal who she's going to vote for in this upcoming election. Days after Swift revealed her political views, Legend shared how difficult it must have been for her to publicly support a particular candidate considering her huge fanbase. In an interview with The Independent, the EGOT winner said, “It was always really difficult for Taylor to speak out for liberal and progressive candidates coming from the country music world, where the fanbase is a lot more conservative,” Also Read: Emmys 2024: The most-nominated show Shogun is set to shine at the award night Legend added, “It was riskier for her to start speaking out about politics than it is for me. I always respected the fact that she was willing to take that risk.” The singer said he didn't mind losing some of his fans or friends over his views. For example, the singer is no longer friends with Kanye West, whose GOOD Music label released Legend’s debut studio album, Get Lifted in 2004. “I’d rather be my authentic self than put on a mask or betray my principles. And if I lose a few fans here and there, I’ll be fine,'' he said. <p>Immediately after the first presidential debate between Donald Trump and Harris concluded on Tuesday (Sep 10), Swift released a statement on her social media accounts, pledging her allegiance to the Democrat leader.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Vance in a 2021 interview with former Fox News host, Tucker Carlson, had said that the US was being run "by a bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they've made and so they want to make the rest of the country miserable too".</p>

Pope Francis calls both Trump and Harris ‘against life’ over migrant and abortion stances

<p>US Presidential candidate Donald Trump has been seen with a certain Ms Laura Loomer in the past few days. She was in the audience when Trump debated with Democratic nominee Kamala Harris and also at an event commemorating the 9/11 attacks.</p>

<p>Several Republicans are sweating to see Trump with Laura Loomer. This is because she has had her fair share of controversies. The former congressional candidate is known for her anti-Muslim rhetoric. She is a hard-right conspiracy theorist who claimed that the 9/11 attacks were an "inside job" carried out by the US government.</p>

<p>In the past few weeks, Loomer had entered Trump's inner circle and is often seen with him. She even flew with him on his airplane to Philadelphia for the presidential debate. He was also once seen calling out to her during a press conference. Loomer was also with him at his Bedminster club. She has been openly talking about and praising Trump for months now.</p>

<p>At the debate, Trump talked on stage about Haitian migrants eating pets in a city in Ohio. "They are eating the pets of the people that live there," he said. While Kamala Harris laughed off the comment, the moderators jumped in to clarify that they had reached out to officials in Springfield and no proof of such activities has ever been found.&nbsp;</p>

<h2>Loomer's "curry" comment on Harris</h2>

<p>Many believe that Trump dared to bring up the matter on stage because of Loomer. Just a day before the debate, Loomer stressed the claims to her 1.2 million followers on X.</p>

<p>She regularly posts in support of Trump on her X handle. Recently, she even attacked Kamala Harris.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Also Read:&nbsp;<a href="https://www.wionews.com/world/trump-claims-haiti-migrants-are-eating-dogs-cats-musk-and-vance-believe-him-757711">Trump claims Haiti migrants are 'eating dogs, cats'. Musk and Vance believe him</a></p>

<p>Loomer made fun of Harris's Indian roots and wrote, "If Kamala Harris wins, the White House will smell like curry &amp; White House speeches will be facilitated via a call center and the American people will only be able to convey their feedback through a customer satisfaction survey at the end of the call that nobody will understand."</p>

<p>Notably, Loomer was once kicked off Twitter, now X, for her views and hate posts. After Elon Musk took over, she made a comeback. Musk is also going all out to support Trump in the race for the White House.</p>

<h2>Republicans are not happy to see Loomer with Trump</h2>

<p>Several Republicans are clearly not happy with Loomer's proximity to Trump. One of his supporters said, “Everyone who works for him thinks she’s a liability."&nbsp;</p>

<p>Even GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene said that Loomer's “rhetoric and hateful tone” is concerning and a problem and “doesn’t represent MAGA as a whole.” Greene, who is well-known for her inflammatory statements, called on Loomer to take down the post on Harris. Calling the post “extremely racist,” she wrote in a response, “This does not represent President Trump.”</p>

US Presidential candidate Donald Trump has been seen with a certain Ms Laura Loomer in the past few days. She was in the audience when Trump debated with Democratic nominee Kamala Harris and also at an event commemorating the 9/11 attacks. Several Republicans are sweating to see Trump with Laura Loomer. This is because she has had her fair share of controversies. The former congressional candidate is known for her anti-Muslim rhetoric. She is a hard-right conspiracy theorist who claimed that the 9/11 attacks were an "inside job" carried out by the US government. In the past few weeks, Loomer had entered Trump's inner circle and is often seen with him. She even flew with him on his airplane to Philadelphia for the presidential debate. He was also once seen calling out to her during a press conference. Loomer was also with him at his Bedminster club. She has been openly talking about and praising Trump for months now. At the debate, Trump talked on stage about Haitian migrants eating pets in a city in Ohio. "They are eating the pets of the people that live there," he said. While Kamala Harris laughed off the comment, the moderators jumped in to clarify that they had reached out to officials in Springfield and no proof of such activities has ever been found. Loomer's "curry" comment on Harris Many believe that Trump dared to bring up the matter on stage because of Loomer. Just a day before the debate, Loomer stressed the claims to her 1.2 million followers on X. She regularly posts in support of Trump on her X handle. Recently, she even attacked Kamala Harris. Also Read: Trump claims Haiti migrants are 'eating dogs, cats'. Musk and Vance believe him Loomer made fun of Harris's Indian roots and wrote, "If Kamala Harris wins, the White House will smell like curry & White House speeches will be facilitated via a call center and the American people will only be able to convey their feedback through a customer satisfaction survey at the end of the call that nobody will understand." Notably, Loomer was once kicked off Twitter, now X, for her views and hate posts. After Elon Musk took over, she made a comeback. Musk is also going all out to support Trump in the race for the White House. Republicans are not happy to see Loomer with Trump Several Republicans are clearly not happy with Loomer's proximity to Trump. One of his supporters said, “Everyone who works for him thinks she’s a liability." Even GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene said that Loomer's “rhetoric and hateful tone” is concerning and a problem and “doesn’t represent MAGA as a whole.” Greene, who is well-known for her inflammatory statements, called on Loomer to take down the post on Harris. Calling the post “extremely racist,” she wrote in a response, “This does not represent President Trump.” × When Trump was asked about Loomer at a news conference in California on September 13, he simply called her "a supporter" and that he was unaware of her comments about Harris, or about 9/11. “I don’t control Laura. 'No third debate!': Trump refuses rematch with Kamala Harris, calls first debate 'clear victory'

<p class="MsoNormal">Due to an extraordinary financial groundswell given by almost 600,000 contributors to various campaign committees and political action committees supporting the Harris-Walz ticket, the fundraising by the Vice President topped an astonishing $47 million during the first 24 hours after the debate Tuesday evening. Kamala Harris is seen as the winner of the debate with former President Donald Trump according to a report by CNBC. <o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">The new cash adds significantly to Harris' already-successful fundraising, which has boomed since July when President Joe Biden called on her to take his place in the race. That put her efforts in an altogether new gear.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b>Kamala Harris dominates debate, leaves Trump unsettled<o:p></o:p></b></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">With many hailing her dominant debate performance, Harris flexed her policy acumen in holding her own on major issues of the night in front of an attentive audience and a critical mass of viewers. The debate happened in Philadelphia, and it was moderated by ABC News; analysts said Trump seemed to be unfavorably fazed by Harris' assertiveness. This is especially evident from the live fact-checking sessions presented by ABC News, which even further emphasised the need for the truth in discourse during political debates.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b>Harris' fundraising outpaces Trump's August haul<o:p></o:p></b></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">These enormous fundraising figures are not only a proof to the huge effect Harris had during the debate but are also a massive blow to the Trump campaign, whose team struggles to keep up with the pace in terms of fundraising. Recent reports show that while Harris's campaign raked in a whopping $361 million in August, Trump's camp collected a mere $130 million within the same period. This corresponds to a difference of nearly three times between the two candidates in fund raising.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">With the election season warming up, the dynamics of fundraising just may turn out to be critical in setting the tone for the presidential contest, with Harris setting quite a formidable mark that her opponents may want or need to take into consideration for further strategic direction. Taken together, the support for her campaign forms a pivotal moment in the 2024 election landscape and thus raises the competitiveness among Harris and Trump who are both vying for the presidency.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Hence, the deft feat of fundraising by the Vice Presidency of Kamala Harris, an astonishing $47 million within 24 hours after her debate with former President Donald Trump, speaks to building momentum and enthusiasm for her campaign. Harris now has almost 600,000 contributors to this financial juggernaut, surpassing Trump's August fundraising-a new benchmark in presidential campaigns. Either way, Harris's sustained dominance in the debate and her natural way with the supporters will take this race in very specific direction in the upcoming US presidential elections. <o:p></o:p></p>

Kamala Harris raises $47M in 24 hours after fiery debate with Trump

Former President Donald Trump announced Thursday that he would not participate in another presidential debate with Vice President Kamala Harris. "There will be no third debate!" Trump posted on Truth Social, referencing his first face-off with President Joe Biden in June and his second with Harris on Tuesday.

<p>President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris on Wednesday (September 11) condemned the killing of an American activist by the Israeli military in the West Bank, describing it as "unacceptable." They urged Israel to take more steps to prevent such incidents from happening again.</p>

<p>Israel has acknowledged its role in the death of 26-year-old Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, who was killed during a protest against the expansion of Israeli settlements in the West Bank. Biden emphasised that the US&nbsp;government expects ongoing access to the investigation into the shooting.</p>

<p>“There must be full accountability. And Israel must do more to ensure that incidents like this never happen again,” Biden said in a statement. Vice President Harris also expressed concern, stating that no one should lose their life for participating in peaceful protests.</p>

<p>"The shooting that led to her death is unacceptable and raises legitimate questions about the conduct of IDF (Israel Defense Forces) personnel in the West Bank," Harris said.</p>

<p>Eygi, who was also a Turkish citizen, was fatally shot on Friday during a protest in Beita, a village near Nablus. This area has seen multiple attacks by far-right Jewish settlers. Israeli authorities have claimed her death was unintentional.</p>

<p>Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s running mate JD Vance took a swipe at pop star Taylor Swift for backing Democratic nominee Kamala Harris. The elections are scheduled for November with both Trump and Harris ready to lock horns for the top post.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Slamming Taylor Swift for her choice, JD Vance called her a “disconnected billionaire” and said that she was unaware of the problems faced by the common American.&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>We like her music, not her choice&nbsp;says JD Vance on Taylor Swift</strong></h2>

<p>Speaking to Fox News' The Story, Vance said, "We admire Taylor Swift's music, but I don't think most Americans, whether they like her music or not, are going to be influenced by a billionaire celebrity who is fundamentally disconnected from the interests and problems of most Americans.”</p>

<p>He said that as Americans largely face issues, it doesn’t hurt Taylor Swift and hence she’s disassociated with the current problems. JD Vance said, “When grocery prices go up by 20 per cent, it hurts most Americans. (But) it doesn't hurt Taylor Swift.”&nbsp;</p>

<p>He added, “When housing prices become unaffordable, it doesn't affect Taylor Swift or any other billionaire. It does affect most middle-class Americans all over our country.”</p>

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s running mate JD Vance took a swipe at pop star Taylor Swift for backing Democratic nominee Kamala Harris. The elections are scheduled for November with both Trump and Harris ready to lock horns for the top post. Slamming Taylor Swift for her choice, JD Vance called her a “disconnected billionaire” and said that she was unaware of the problems faced by the common American. We like her music, not her choice says JD Vance on Taylor Swift Speaking to Fox News' The Story, Vance said, "We admire Taylor Swift's music, but I don't think most Americans, whether they like her music or not, are going to be influenced by a billionaire celebrity who is fundamentally disconnected from the interests and problems of most Americans.” He said that as Americans largely face issues, it doesn’t hurt Taylor Swift and hence she’s disassociated with the current problems. JD Vance said, “When grocery prices go up by 20 per cent, it hurts most Americans. (But) it doesn't hurt Taylor Swift.” He added, “When housing prices become unaffordable, it doesn't affect Taylor Swift or any other billionaire. It does affect most middle-class Americans all over our country.” Vance: “I don't think most Americans are going to be influenced by a billionaire celebrity who is fundamentally disconnected from the interests and problems of most Americans” 🤔 pic.twitter.com/5xNUiWqyQt — Kamala HQ (@KamalaHQ) September 11, 2024 × Taylor Swift has endorsed Kamala Harris JD Vance’s comments came a day after Taylor Swift endorsed Kamala Harris and said that she would vote for her in the upcoming presidential election. She said that she came to the decision after she saw the first-ever presidential debate between the current US Vice President and her Republican rival Donald Trump. I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election. I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them.” She added, "It really conjured up my fears around Al, and the dangers of spreading misinformation. It brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter. The simplest way to combat misinformation is with the truth." Trump-Harris debate: Highlights, top moments from the historic US presidential debate

<p>Former first lady Michelle Obama gave a glowing endorsement to Democratic presidential nominee and US Vice President Kamala Harris following her debate with Republican candidate Donald Trump.</p>

<p>Taking to her official X handle, Michelle said that after the fierce clash between the two White House contenders, there was "no room for discussion" about Harris being the only candidate in the race who was ready to take over as the President of the United States.</p>

<p>"After tonight’s debate, there should be no doubt – no room for discussion – Kamala Harris is the only candidate in this race who is ready to be President.</p>

<p>"I am once again urging everyone to roll up their sleeves and DO SOMETHING – phone bank, knock on doors, talk to any and everyone you know and urge them to vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. Every vote will matter in what will be a close race. We cannot afford to have anyone sitting on the sidelines. There’s simply too much at stake," she said.</p>

Former first lady Michelle Obama gave a glowing endorsement to Democratic presidential nominee and US Vice President Kamala Harris following her debate with Republican candidate Donald Trump. Taking to her official X handle, Michelle said that after the fierce clash between the two White House contenders, there was "no room for discussion" about Harris being the only candidate in the race who was ready to take over as the President of the United States. "After tonight’s debate, there should be no doubt – no room for discussion – Kamala Harris is the only candidate in this race who is ready to be President. "I am once again urging everyone to roll up their sleeves and DO SOMETHING – phone bank, knock on doors, talk to any and everyone you know and urge them to vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. Every vote will matter in what will be a close race. We cannot afford to have anyone sitting on the sidelines. There’s simply too much at stake," she said.
