Out of many other things that he boasts about, being a Republican is one of them. However, the man infamous for backtracking on his words has predictably not always been a Republican.&nbsp;

In 1987, he registered as a Republican in Manhattan, and was one of the most admired men in America, according to several polls. However, aiming to get more profits in his business, he changed his preference to Reforms Party in 1999 and then shifted to Democratic Party in 2001.

The change was the beginning of a childhood dream — a dream where he craved for power, but away from his family brand.

Trump did not grow up in a financially struggling home, but he always did have to struggle for his father’s approval. And many believe this hunger to get his father’s approval was what lead him to play a game of hide-and-seek with the media about running for the post of President — for which he often said, “I believe that if I did run for President, I'd win.”

Nikki Haskell, a famous television personality who often interviewed Trump in his younger days, in a docu-series, said “Some kids want to be a fireman, some people want to be a doctor. Donald always wanted to be a President, but he waited for the right time.”

In 1999, he approached the exploratory committee to seek nomination for the 2000 elections, representing Reforms Party. However, he quickly dropped out of the race when several polls revealed his chances of winning were less than 10 per cent. The move to drop out was not surprising as Trump has been (in)famous for always winning. He had often been caught saying that he will contest the day knows he will win.

The itch to stay in the news was not gone, though. When his other antics were failing, a few years later, yet again, Trump teased the media with speculations about running for elections. Much to his dismay, the media did not pay much heed to his cry for attention, and many deduced it as a promotional stunt for his reality show The Apprentice.

Later, Trump appeared in the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). When asked if he was there because he was running for President, he said, “I am here because I am Donald Trump.”

This was the first time he publically addressed the ongoing controversy related to Barack Obama’s birth certificate. He gave a ‘moving’ speech that not only attracted a lot of applause but also realistically introduced him to the political world.

However, Trump’s real push to stand against the Democratic Party came at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner when then-President Barack Obama took a direct hit at Trump saying, “No one is happier, no one is prouder to put this birth certificate matter to rest than the Donald, and that’s because he can finally get back to focusing on the issues that matter, like did we fake the moon landing? What really happened in Roswell? And where are Biggie and Tupac?”

The US elections are inching closer, and the two candidates are ready to go to any limit to become the next President of the United States.

While <a href="https://www.wionews.com/topics/joe-biden">Joe Biden</a> has been accusing his opponent of being a racist and a corrupt leader,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.wionews.com/topics/donald-trump">Donald Trump</a> is accusing Biden of using drugs, weeks before the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.wionews.com/topics/us-election">US elections</a>.

In an interview with a local TV channel,&nbsp;Fox News, Trump can be heard critiquing Biden's oratory skills, by alleging that Biden cannot even "get out a sentence".

“I think there’s probably — possibly — drugs involved. That’s what I hear. I mean, there’s possibly drugs. I don’t know how you can go from being so bad where you can’t even get out a sentence,” Trump said in the interview.

"I mean, you saw some of those debates with the large number of people on the stage," Mr Trump added. "He was — I mean, I used to say, 'How is it possible that he can even go forward?'," he continued.

This is not the first time Trump has accused his opponent of using drugs. Earlier, towards the end of the month of August, Trump had in an interview urged the authorities to conduct a drug test, claiming that Biden may be on drugs because his debates are "boring".

"Frankly, his best performance was against Bernie. We're going to call for a drug test, by the way, because his best performance was against Bernie,” he said in the Oval office.

The live statue is a group of four artists who stay in one pose for a while before changing to something else on the similar matter.

Even the ‘loser’ thing — three, four days later it was pushed out of the headlines,” Buckley said. “I see this as an opportunity to slow down and get voters to think about this moment and really think about ‘am I okay with this moment?’ If not, then you should help vote this president out of office.”

His team of artists also asks people to not to forget to vote in the upcoming US Presidential elections that are scheduled for November 03.

"He told us to stop giving money to people whose houses had burned down from a wildfire because he was so rageful that people in the state of California didn't support him and that politically it wasn't a base for him," Taylor said in the video.

Facing the multiple challenges of a spreading pandemic, racial unrest and a struggling economy, Trump made several unfounded or highly speculative accusations against the former vice president, saying Biden would "triple your taxes" and "defund the police."

He added, "Religion will be gone," referring to Democratic officials banning large church services to stem the virus spread.

The interview, which was taped in advance, came as new polling results showed support for Biden surging as doubts about Trump's handling of the pandemic grow amid a resurgence in many states.

Interviewer Chris Wallace told the president that a new Fox opinion poll showed Biden with a substantial lead over Trump not only on his ability to manage the pandemic (with a 17-point edge) and to deal with racial unrest (by 21 points), but even -- by a single point -- on handling the economy, long a Trump strong point.

And a new Washington Post-ABC News poll has Biden leading Trump among registered voters nationwide by a resounding 15-point margin, 55-to-40 percent.

Trump dismissed such polling as "fake," saying White House surveys show him winning both nationally and in key swing states.

'Mommy, Mommy...'

He repeatedly pummeled Biden, who has kept a relatively low profile amid the restraints imposed by the pandemic.

Trump claimed that the Democrat wanted to "defund the police" -- a battle cry of some anti-racist protesters -- and insisted that such language was in a Biden policy document, though he was unable to produce it when challenged by Wallace.

As he repeatedly questioned his rival's mental acuity, Wallace asked him directly if thought Biden was senile.

"I don't want to say that," Trump replied. "I say he's not competent to be president."

He questioned whether the Democrat could pass a cognitive ability test that he said he had "aced," and said the former vice president would fall apart under tough questioning.

"Let Biden sit through an interview like this, he'll be on the ground crying for Mommy. He'll say, 'Mommy, Mommy, please take me home.'"

Trump again defended his handling of the pandemic, claiming that "we are the envy of the world" on testing; and, of his early prediction that the virus would someday disappear, said, "I'll be right eventually."

Referring to the racial unrest in the country, and a recent spike in violent crime in some cities, the president blamed "Democrat-run cities," which he said were "stupidly run."

Asked about statistics showing American blacks are twice as likely to be shot and killed by police as whites, Trump replied, "Many whites are killed also. You have to say that."

And he equated those who fly the Confederate flag with those saying that "Black Lives Matter," adding, "It's freedom of speech."

Trump again stated his opposition to renaming US military bases named after Confederate generals -- even after the military supported the idea.

"I don't care what the military says," the president said.

"We're going to name it after the Reverend Al Sharpton?" he asked rhetorically, referring to a prominent African-American civil rights leader.

There was no immediate response to the interview from Biden or his campaign, though the former vice president did tweet that "Banning the Confederate flag from military installations was long overdue."

Following the coronavirus crisis and civil unrest in the country, former Secretary of State Colin Powell on Sunday endorsed Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, instead of Donald Trump.

Colin Powell is a Republican who led the US military during the 1991 Gulf War in Iraq under President George H.W. Bush and later headed the State Department under President George W. Bush.

Explaining his choice in 2020 elections, Powell alleged that Trump "lies all the time," and has "drifted away" from the U.S. Constitution. He also stated that Trump, the infamous American President, poses a danger to American democracy.

"I cannot in any way support President Trump this year," Powell, who did not vote for the Republican president in 2016, told a local news channel.

Responding to the news, Trump called Powell a stiff and blamed him for getting the US tangled in the Middle East Wars.
