One of the two who returned was&nbsp;Raju, a resident of Madhya Pradesh, who was sentenced by the Government of Pakistan. Raju disclosed the name of the other&nbsp;one as J Gameraram, a resident of Barmer district of Rajasthan, who reached India after completing his 27-month sentence. He said that his age is about 21 years.

Gameraram will reach Amritsar tomorrow and will be handed over further to authorities. He said that he is very happy to return home.&nbsp;

Gameraram said that one of the Indian prisoners who came from Pakistan, had an affair with a girl, but they had a rift over something. He then got angry and crossed the Indian border and was arrested by the Karachi police and sent to jail.

A former senior FBI agent in New York had been arrested due to his affiliations with a Russian oligarch,&nbsp;ABC News reported on Monday.&nbsp;Charles McGonigal, a special agent in charge of counterintelligence at the FBI's New York Field Office, has been&nbsp;arrested because of his ties with Oleg Deripaska, a Russian billionaire who the US has sanctioned and who was criminally accused last year of breaching those sanctions.

McGonigal left the FBI in 2018. He was detained on Saturday afternoon after arriving at JFK Airport from Sri Lanka, according to the sources.

The Justice Department claims that in 2021, McGonigal and Shestakov, two FBI oligarch investigators, agreed to look into a rival Russian tycoon in exchange for money from Deripaska. In order to conceal the fact that Deripaska was paying McGonigal and Shestakov, it is alleged that they utilised phoney firms to receive money and forged signatures.

Along with allegations of breaking sanctions, both of them are accused of money laundering. The maximum jail time for each of the four offences is 20 years.

"The FBI is committed to the enforcement of economic sanctions designed to protect the United States and our allies, especially against hostile activities of a foreign government and its actors," FBI Assistant Director in Charge Michael Driscoll said in a statement. "Russian oligarchs like Oleg Deripaska perform global malign influence on behalf of the Kremlin and are associated with acts of bribery, extortion, and violence."

"As alleged, Mr. McGonigal and Mr. Shestakov, both US&nbsp;citizens, acted on behalf of Deripaska and fraudulently used a US&nbsp;entity to obscure their activity in violation of US&nbsp;sanctions. After sanctions are imposed, they must be enforced equally against all US&nbsp;citizens in order to be successful. There are no exceptions for anyone, including a former FBI official like Mr. McGonigal,"&nbsp;Driscoll added.&nbsp;

Shestakov, 69, who was based in Morris, Connecticut, is also accused of lying to FBI agents about his connection with Deripaska in November 2021. He faces one count of making false statements in addition to the other accusations.

According to Treasury officials, Deripaska, an aluminum mogul, was one of twenty Russians sanctioned by the Treasury Department in 2018 as retaliation for "the Russian government's continuous and more nefarious operations throughout the globe."

After spending more than two decades of&nbsp;jail, two men in US were released&nbsp;after a true crime podcast uncovered fresh evidence that all but disproved the prosecution's case against them. One of the men was also totally exonerated. As per a press&nbsp;statement from the Georgia Innocence Project, Darrell Lee Clark and his co-defendant Cain Joshua Storey were freed from imprisonment last week after serving more than 25 years for the 1996 shooting murder of their friend Brian Bowling, who was 15 at the time, as reported by the Guardian.

The prosecution's claim that Clark and Storey had murdered Bowling with premeditation was called into question by new information from the true-crime podcast Proof. On 18 October, 1996, Bowling had been shot in the head, leading to his death.&nbsp;Bowling told his girlfriend that he was playing Russian roulette with a pistol just before his death.&nbsp;

Storey, Bowling's closest friend&nbsp;had brought the rifle over. When the pistol went off, Storey was also there in the room with Bowling.

In connection with Bowling's death, police first accused Storey of manslaughter because they believed the shooting was accidental but nonetheless unlawful. But at the family's request, authorities started looking into Bowling's death as a murder, which brings considerably more serious penalties.

Police spoke with a woman who lived next to the Bowlings' home in order to strengthen their case. Months after the shooting, the lady said she overheard Storey and Clark discussing their plans to murder Bowling at a party. She also said that because Bowling knew too much about a theft that Storey and Clark had committed, they intended to kill him.

They also spoke with a person who had difficulty hearing and speaking who had been in a separate area of the house when the gunshot occurred. The witness allegedly saw Clark leaving the Bowlings' house and going through the backyard.

Prosecutors relied on a coroner's testimony during the trial because he claimed to have a "gut sense" that the gunshot could not have been self-inflicted in the way that it could occur if they were actually playing Russian roulette. However, since the coroner was not a medical professional, Bowling's body was never put through an autopsy.

In 1998, Storey and Clark were found guilty of conspiracy to commit murder and murder. At age 17, they were both given life sentences in jail.

Podcasters Jacinda Davis and Susan Simpson of Proof started investigating Storey and Clark's case in 2021. The two spoke with the crucial witnesses who were used by the prosecution to convict Storey and Clark.

US jail releases two men who spent 25 years in jail as true crime podcast challenges conviction

Three people, who were accused of targeting Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro in a failed drone attack in 2018, were sentenced to 30 years of imprisonment, said their relatives on Friday.

The court convicted retired army major Juan Carlos Marrufo, retired colonel Juan Francisco Rodriguez and Maria Delgado Tabosky on charges of "terrorism, treason and criminal conspiracy,” as stated by one of the accused's family member.

The court started the criminal hearing on Thursday night, which continued till the early hours of Friday, the family member stated.

The Maduro government has accused Osman of financing the drone attack. On August 4, 2018, two drones filled with explosives blew up near the place where the president was speaking to an assembly of National Guard members.

One of the drone explosions took place in the air over guardsmen who were standing in formation, leading to a few of them getting injured. The second drone crashed into a building which was two blocks away.

President Maduro and his wife remained unhurt in the attack. Marrufo, aged 52, is the husband of Maria Delgado Tabosky and holds citizenship in both Italy and Venezuela.

In order to convince Judge Leonie Brinkema to inflict the maximum 20-year sentence, Parekh described Ekren's life&nbsp;&nbsp;from her Kansas farm upbringing until her capture in Syria following the territorial defeat of IS in 2019. Fluke-Ekren was captured in Syria.

He set up a network of couriers that sent about USD 127 million of street cash out of UK within two years. The cash was mainly sent to Middle East. Middle East and, especially, United Arab Emirates (UAE) have been in focus due to smuggling of cash into the region. In March, global financial crimes watchdog placed UAE on gray list for failing to do enough to uncover illicit funds.

Alfalasi himself is an Emirati. He was arrested by police last year from a building in London’s upmarket Mayfair district. The building is owned by his wife.

At the time when it happened, the boat incident has fuelled tension between the US and China. US State Department had said that it was deeply concerned about the case and that detainees were being denied access to lawyers of their chioce.

One of those sentenced, Andy Li, is now in a Hong Kong prison awaiting sentencing for a charge of collusion with foreign forces under a China-imposed national security law - a case linked to jailed media tycoon and China critic Jimmy Lai.

Schuetz was found guilty of being an accessory to murder while working as a guard. He was posted at Sachsenhausen camp Oranienburg, north of Berlin between 1942 and 1945, said presiding judge Udo Lechtermann.

Schuetz is now a pensioner and lives in Brandenburg state. He had pleaded innocent to the charges against him. He said he did "absolutely nothing" and was not aware of the gruesome crimes being carried out at the camp.

"I don't know why I am here," he said at the close of his trial on Monday.

But prosecutors said he "knowingly and willingly" participated in the murders of 3,518 prisoners at the camp and called for him to be punished with five years behind bars.&nbsp;

More than 200,000 people, including Jews, Roma, regime opponents and gay people, were detained at the Sachsenhausen camp between 1936 and 1945.

Labour, murder, medical experiments, hunger or disease claimed ten of thousands of live before liberationk of the camp by Soviet troops.

Prosecutors said Schuetz had aided and abetted the "execution by firing squad of Soviet prisoners of war in 1942" and the murder of prisoners "using the poisonous gas Zyklon B".

He was 21 years old at the time.

101-year-old ex-Nazi concentration camp guard gets 5 years in jail

On Tuesday, Kerala's fast track court sentenced a 66-year-old man to 81 years of imprisonment for raping and impregnating a minor girl multiple times in the Idukki district of the southern state, reported PTI news agency.

A sentence of 20 years was imposed by Special Judge T G Varghese on the man for repeated rape of the minor girl and penetrative sexual assault. Another 30 years were added under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act for impregnating the girl and five years more for aggravated sexual assault of&nbsp;the minor.

The court declined to show any sort of leniency while imposing a sentence on the man claiming that "the offences committed on her will adversely impact on her future education, family life, and health. Viewed from this angle, though the offences were not committed in a brutal manner, the consequences arising from the acts of the accused have brutal consequences. Hence, imposing minimum sentence will not serve the interest of justice."

The court also said that the reason behind not showing even a little leniency was because the victim was a minor, and the accused was an aged man who did not deserve any consideration whatsoever.

The accused was also sentenced to five years for the offence of kidnapping a woman to induce her to illicit sexual intercourse and one year for molestation under the IPC. A fine of Rs 2.2 lakh was also imposed on the man.

Nancy Crampton Brophy (71), the convict, will not even be eligible for first 25 years of her prison sentence. A judge in USA's northwestern state of Oregon handed the sentence to the author.

The trial went on for a month. It was heard during the trial how the author used a gun (bought on eBay) to kill her husband Daniel Brophy in order to collect hundreds of thousands of dollars in life insurance.

The weapon was bought by Nancy Crampton Brophy as research for her new novel. The gun has not been found.

Chef Daniel Brophy, her husband, &nbsp;was found on the floor of a classroom in a now-defunct culinary institute where he worked, in June 2018. He had been shot twice. His wife was seen driving in the area in a CCTV footage at the time of the murder.

The author has written a series of novels titled &nbsp;"Wrong Never Felt So Right". Some of the novels in this series include "The Wrong Husband" and "The Wrong Lover".

Nancy Crampton Brophy claimed that she had no memory of being present at the crime seen. About CCTV footage, she said tha she would have been in the neighborhood trying to get inspiration for a new work of fiction.

Crampton Brophy, whose lawyers said last month they would appeal the verdict, denied the murder, insisting that years of financial struggle were behind the couple and that she had no reason to kill her husband.

"Where is the motivation? I would ask you," Crampton Brophy said as she sparred with the prosecutor during her trial.

"An editor would laugh and say, 'I think you need to work harder on this story, you have a big hole in it.'"

Her blog post "How to kill your husband," which is still readily available online, discusses methods and motivations for dispatching an unwanted spouse.

These include financial gain and the use of a firearm, although it notes guns are "loud, messy, require some skill."

"But the thing I know about murder is that every one of us have it in him/her when pushed far enough," the essay says.

Believe it or not: Too many feeding trays for birds may land you in jail in US

An Uyghur educator has been imprisoned for seven years in China's restive Xinjiang region for violating Chinese policy by instructing students in Uyghur, which happens to be their native language. Adil Tursun has been previously honoured by the government for his work.&nbsp;

He was arrested in 2016 and sentenced to seven-year imprisonment in 2018, reports Radio Free Asia.&nbsp;

Adil had earlier been recognised as one of the "nation's outstanding teachers" by the government. He was arrested by authorities for the "crime" of teaching students in the Uyghur language as they did not understand the instructions in Chinese.&nbsp;

RFA called Kona Sheher county police to find out about Adil's sentence. The police, however, declined to answer questions. They did not deny that the teacher had been jailed.

China has been called on for such acts multiple times. Earlier in October, Forty-three countries called on China to "ensure full respect for the rule of law" for the Muslim Uyghurs.

The statement was made at the United Nations and sparked outrage from Beijing. The statement has been signed by the United States along with several European and Asian member states and other countries.

After an assessment discovered "evidence of systematic problems" and "awful living circumstances," the US Marshals Service for DC will move 400 prisoners in federal custody from the DC Jail to a federal prison in Pennsylvania.

Nearly a third of the approximately 1400 individuals now detained in the facility will be affected by the decision.&nbsp;

Trayon White, a member of the DC Council, is requesting more information regarding the jail's conditions and the intention to relocate convicts from one of the older institutions there.&nbsp;
