In the past I’ve been reluctant to publicly voice my political opinions, but due to several events in my life and in the world in the past two years, I feel very differently about that now. I always have and always will cast my vote based on which candidate will protect and fight for the human rights I believe we all deserve in this country. I believe in the fight for LGBTQ rights, and that any form of discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender is WRONG. I believe that the systemic racism we still see in this country towards people of color is terrifying, sickening and prevalent. I cannot vote for someone who will not be willing to fight for dignity for ALL Americans, no matter their skin color, gender or who they love. Running for Senate in the state of Tennessee is a woman named Marsha Blackburn. As much as I have in the past and would like to continue voting for women in office, I cannot support Marsha Blackburn. Her voting record in Congress appalls and terrifies me. She voted against equal pay for women. She voted against the Reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act, which attempts to protect women from domestic violence, stalking, and date rape. She believes businesses have a right to refuse service to gay couples. She also believes they should not have the right to marry. These are not MY Tennessee values. I will be voting for Phil Bredesen for Senate and Jim Cooper for House of Representatives. Please, please educate yourself on the candidates running in your state and vote based on who most closely represents your values. For a lot of us, we may never find a candidate or party with whom we agree 100% on every issue, but we have to vote anyway. So many intelligent, thoughtful, self-possessed people have turned 18 in the past two years and now have the right and privilege to make their vote count. Taylor Swift gets political, endorses Democrats in US midterms

Facebook-owned photo-sharing social network Instagram briefly stopped working on Tuesday as users were not able to see pictures or profiles worldwide.

Its app and website both were inaccessible for about half an hour and the app displayed an error message saying "couldn't refresh feed", while its website did not load for users.

Naturally, as the Instagram went down hashtag "Instagramdown" started trending immediately with people flooding social media feeds with the memes and hilarious jokes.

Iraqi model and Instagram starlet Tara Fares has been shot dead at the wheel of her Porsche convertible in central Baghdad, sending ripples through social media circles.

The interior ministry opened a probe into Thursday’s murder of the 22-year-old who suffered “three fatal bullet wounds” as she drove through the capital’s Camp Sarah district.

Internet tried to moral police when Kartik shared a video with Kareena Kapoor.

The country's new hearthrob Kartik Aaryan recently walked the ramp with actress Kareena Kapoor for Manish Malhotra in Singapore. The actor, who is enjoying stardom post the sucess of Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, posted a video on his Instagram page where he can be seen lip singing Ban Jaa Tu Meri Rani for Kareena Kapoor. The video has the two actors grooving together to the popular song. Ban jaa tu meri Rani ♥️? A post shared by KARTIK AARYAN (@kartikaaryan) on Mar 28, 2018 at 12:46am PDT × While Kareena seem to enjoy the song, some people have taken offence on Kartik's behalf. "Someone tag Saif Ali Khan in here," read a comment while another added, "Kisi aur ki rani hai wo." The video has already cross 8 lac views in 17 hours and still counting. While some have outraged, there are others who have commented on the actors' chemistry. Someone even demanded that the two should work together in some film. Kareena is eight years older to Kartik Aaryan. The actress was the showstopper for Manish Malhotra's show that had her and Kartik walking the ramp together. Kartik, clearly a fan of Bebo's, shared other photos of the event.
Sridevi’s untimely demise arrives as 2018’s early shockers but also as a grim reminder of a shallow, materialistic urban society that’s diminishing in its core values.

I was out on a road trip from Mumbai to Delhi and a relaxing breather at Udaipur was brought to a disturbing halt as I woke up to the shocking news of Sri’s sudden demise.

As a journalist with a keen eye for entertainment news, I couldn’t help but ask myself if Sridevi’s untimely death had anything to do with the constant societal pressure to look a certain way by defying age?

The constant surgeries, implants and botox shots that most heroines are succumbing to across the globe is a harsh reality that we need to address as a society, every time we hit a like on an age-defying face in a picture going viral on Facebook.

That Sridevi and her daughter Jhanvi were a regular at Dr Raj Kanodia, a Hollywood celebrity cosmetic surgeon based in California is no secret. His Instagram account is a testimony to their visits along with SRK and wife Gauri Khan.

Priya Prakash Varrier has become the Interner's latest crush, reads the headline of national media platforms. She is creating all kinds of record on Instagram. Overnight she has managed a humungous fan following of 606 thousand. Only after American model and TV personality Kylie Jenner (806 thousand) and footballer Christiano Ronaldo (650 thousand).

Kyle and Ronaldo have spent their life creating a niche for themselves in their respective domain. But what is Varrier's claim to fame?

Some say 'cuteness', others say 'quirky'. There are still few who would brush the meteoric rise of Varrier as a 'fad' or 'simply being lucky.'

Priya, true to her name, has become the heartthrob of the nation. Even the girls like her. A warm smile flickers over their lips as they watch the 10- seconds clip. But why is the nation hooked?

Many would argue that cutting through the mundane and morbid routine of our daily life, the expression of Priya's large black eyes is like a gust of fresh wind. It will be a cliche to claim that the viewers of mainstream media are has reached a sad state of satiety watching quibble over Kashmir, China's land and sea grabs, Pakistan's protestations, India's never-ending problems with joblessness, terrorism, and elections.

How does Priya break this monotony? What is the appeal of her act that we find so endearing? We have to remember that video comes without dialogues, it is not even enriched by exceptional acting. Just profound cuteness.

But this cuteness is not that of a Teddybear. A Teddybear is differently cute, it does not have the latent sex appeal or the hint of romance as is evident from Priya's winking and biting of lips or the way her lover swoons.

Priya is not a sex bomb; the video does not show whether she has a perfect body, the way Dimple Kapadia had in Bobby. Remember the iconic shot-the red swimming suit-clad Dimple Kapadia, walking out of the ocean, as the sun sets in the background in Saagar. Or Lakshmi's scintillating romantic scenes with Shashi Bhattacharya in Julie.

Priya's hair curly and tad unruly, her pimple-marked face, her kajal black eyes with thick eyebrows bring back memories of high-school romance. She takes us back to that junction when we are approaching adulthood but not yet an adult. She takes us on that journey where the innocence of childhood is not lost but neither has one gained the pronounced sexuality of an adult.

Priya's demeanor reminds me of Audrey Hepburn in the Roman Holiday. Childlike face, the innocence of a nymph but with a physically matured body.

This is a sure recipe for success because it can appeal to boys and men, girls and women alike. With Priya, many of us identify because she comes as wish fulfillment, a bridge to a lost time.

People who believe in the sheer force of numbers and in the maverick of the Internet will, however, have a different story to tell. The film world of Southern India is very different from that of the north. While North pays attention to only acclaimed celebrities, the South has a panache for regional heroes and heroines. Moreover, the close-knit nature of southern societies, influence their group behaviour. If some video gains popularity among a small group of people, chances are it will get viral in a short time as many other will start liking it too.

Luck is an inexplicable factor but fame is not. Though we often attribute fame to luck. Priya's climb to fame is tied to host of social and technical factors and is not enigma as we might like to think.

With mom, dad and grandma signing up in increasing numbers, Facebook is losing younger users in the United States at a faster pace than previously estimated, researchers said Monday.

A report by eMarketer said Snapchat is drawing youths away from Facebook at a quicker clip than Facebook-owned Instagram.

Facebook is still growing in the US market, according to research firm, mainly due to increases in usage by older age groups.

The report is the latest to highlight Facebook's problem with attracting and keeping young people, who have long been a core user base for the world's biggest social network.

The research firm said it expected the first-ever decline in the 18-24 age group in the US, a drop of 5.8 per cent this year.

It also said that for the first time since its research began, less than half of the 12-17 age group in the United States would be on Facebook, with a 5.6 percent drop in that segment.

The under-12 age group meanwhile will see a decline of 9.3 percent this year, eMarketer said.

The same trend is expected to continue into 2019 and 2020, with declines in all segments of US users under 25, the report added.

Facebook will lose an estimated two million users under 25 this year, with Snapchat and Instagram the main beneficiaries.

The report said Snapchat will add 1.9 million users under 25 in 2018 and Instagram will add 1.6 million.

Snapchat, which is known for its disappearing messages, will continue to have more users aged 12 to 24 than Instagram, the researchers said.

But Snapchat could end up facing a similar problem as it seeks to increase its user base and reach all ages.

"Snapchat could eventually experience more growth in older age groups, since it's redesigning its platform to be easier to use," eMarketer analyst Debra Aho Williamson said.

"The question will be whether younger users will still find Snapchat cool if more of their parents and grandparents are on it. That's the predicament Facebook is in."

Facebook remains the most popular social network in the US market with an estimated 169.5 million users this year, according to eMarketer.

But faster-growing Instagram will be used by 104.7 million Americans and Snapchat will reach 86.5 million users, according to the forecast.

A madcap Japanese great-grandmother armed with a camera and an appetite for mischief has shot to fame for taking side-splitting selfies -- many of which appear to put her in harm's way.

Closing in on her 90th birthday, Kimiko Nishimoto tweaks the nose of fear: she has amassed more than 41,000 followers in just two months since she started regularly posting her hilarious snaps on Instagram.

"To be honest I don't think too deeply about what photography means to me," she muses.

Commenting on the haters, she said, "I've taken away the power from the negative comments and the haters by not listening to them and if I do see it, I just feel sorry for them, because who leaves a negative comment on somebody's profile on the internet? You have to be kind of sad to do that. I've taken away the power, and it just feels great." While Demi admits she's made lots of progress, she's still a bit self-conscious about one swimsuit photo she posted on January 4. This is the photo she is talking about: So, I’m insecure about my legs in this picture but I’m posting it because I look so happy and this year I’ve decided I’m letting go of my perfectionism and embracing freedom from self criticism. Learning to love my body the way it is is challenging but life changing. Giving up my eating disorder has been the most challenging journey of my life but I work every day towards solid recovery even if I mess up sometimes. Today I’m feeling strong. You all can do it too. It IS possible. Thank you God for this new chapter in my life. #EDrecovery #happyAF A post shared by Demi Lovato (@ddlovato) on Jan 4, 2018 at 5:16am PST × She went on to add: "I actually was very hesitant about posting that because I didn't love my legs in it. You know every time you look at a picture of yourself you critique it. I'm a perfectionist. I decided to post it anyway because I thought, ‘You know what, it's me, it's who I am and I love my body, so I'm just going to post it." "I posted it because I look so happy," Demi summed up her feeling before adding "That's what I love about that picture."
