As per the latest report, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in a conversation with the Hamas chief Haniyeh, reportedly said that Tehran will not directly enter the ongoing war in the West Asian region.&nbsp;

The Israeli Army has been releasing videos that purportedly show the forces bombarding the Hamas hide-outs inside Gaza hospitals. It also announced on Thursday (Nov 16) that Israeli forces have successfully seized&nbsp;the Hamas-operated Gaza Harbour.

"Disguised as a civilian area, the harbour was used by Hamas as a training facility for their naval commando forces to plan and execute terrorist attacks. During the operation, conducted by soldiers of the 188th Armored Corps' Brigade and Flotilla 13, numerous terrorist tunnel entrances and terrorist infrastructures were destroyed," the army said.&nbsp;

The death toll in the Hamas war is continuously seeing an uptick. The Gazan health ministry reportedly said that over 11,240 people were killed in Gaza amid Israeli air strikes. It included over 4,500 children.

Meanwhile, in Israel, the death toll from Hamas' onslaught on the Jewish nation is over 1,200.

As per the local media reports, a police officer sustained slight injuries in the crash.

"At around 10:55 am, the suspect, driving a minicar, suddenly turned to the left and rammed into a male police officer in his 20s who was patrolling for the Israeli embassy," news agency AFP quoted a police spokesperson as saying.

"Around 11:00 am, I heard a huge bang, so I went outside to check out. Then I saw a policeman injured and in pain near the traffic barrier and it looked like he was bleeding. There was also a black car parked nearby," a restaurant employee working nearby told public broadcaster NHK.

“Police assisted in controlling and dispersing the crowd, while the Prime Minister was escorted out of the restaurant,” it added. The police&nbsp;also said that they arrested a 27-year-old man for&nbsp;obstruction and punching a female officer in the face.&nbsp;

Vancouver police Sergeant Steve Addison told a news conference that “the actions of the protesters, such as blocking the lane behind the restaurant caused a concern.”

This recent incident also came after Trudeau was heckled at another restaurant owned by celebrity chef Vikram Vij in a different part of the city where a video showed a handful of protesters entering the restaurant and shouting at the prime minister to demand a ceasefire in Gaza.

On Tuesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu slammed his Canadian counterpart after the latter said the “killing of women, of children, of babies” in the besieged Gaza Strip must end.&nbsp;

Subsequently, Netanyahu, addressing Trudeau in a social media post, said “the forces of civilization must back Israel in defeating Hamas barbarism.”

Trudeau’s problems are not limited to his diplomatic row with India and recently coming under fire for his remarks about Israel, as his popularity in the recent opinion polls among voters also took a hit, prompting members of his own party to call for his resignation.

Ezzat El Rashq, a member of the Hamas political bureau when asked by Reuters about the negotiations on Wednesday (Nov 15) did not directly confirm the deal or discussion.&nbsp;

Israel “is still refusing and delaying the release of 50 women and children captives and a true humanitarian truce, in exchange for the release of a number of women and children from our people in the occupation prisons and getting relief and humanitarian aid to all areas in the Gaza Strip,” said the Hamas official.&nbsp;

<h2>Israel will not stop till ‘we achieve our goals’: Gantz</h2>

During a press conference on Wednesday, Israeli Minister Benny Gantz, who is also a part of Israel’s war cabinet, said, “Even if we are required to pause fighting in order to return our hostages, there will be no stopping the combat and the war until we achieve our goals.”

A military spokesperson stated that the tunnel is next to a Hamas operative's house who headed the naval operations of Hamas which led the October 7 raids on Israel. 
 
Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari stated that Rantisi Hospital is just 200 yards (183 metres) away, as he tried to prove that the Hamas militants have been operating from the hospitals.

He further claimed that the tunnel provided electricity using solar panels and had a bulletproof and explosives-proof door which is around 20 metres below the ground level. "It looks like a hard and clear evidence that the hospital is connected," Hagari added. 
 
The Israeli forces stated that the tunnel has been kept covered so that nobody is able to find it and the hospital is located next to a&nbsp;UN building and a school. 
 
The military spokesperson further entered the hospital's basement where he claimed to have found "operational gears" of the Hamas in a room, which included Kalashnikov rifles, rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs), explosive body vests and hand grenades.

Hamas needed to stop using Palestinians as human shields and should release all its hostages, said the Canadian PM. At least 350 Canadian citizens, permanent residents and family members had been evacuated from Gaza, Trudeau added.&nbsp;

A report by Reuters citing medical staff said the lives of 36 babies at Gaza’s Al-Shifa Hospital were hanging in the balance, as of Tuesday. This comes after three of the 39 premature babies&nbsp;died after the Palestinian enclave’s biggest hospital ran out of fuel over the weekend.&nbsp;

Of a variety of attempts to peer into the future of a strip of land where entire neighbourhoods have been turned to rubble and more than a million people have been displaced, one answer stands out for me, concise and devoid of diplomatic circumlocutions.&nbsp;

“The whole region is sinking into a sea of hatred that will define generations to come,” said Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi. He stood next to a tired-looking US&nbsp;Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, who was visiting Amman as part of a tour of Arab capitals that crisscrossed the Middle East and also took him to Turkey and India.&nbsp;

The tour was prompted by international outrage over Israel’s response to the October 7 murder of more than 1,200 civilians by militants from Hamas who broke through the supposedly impenetrable wall that separates Israel and Gaza for a series of massacres of savage brutality. The victims included 260 young Israelis who attended a music festival.&nbsp;

Hamas abducted more than 200 survivors of the slaughter and took them to Gaza as hostages.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s initial response was a bombardment of Gaza so fierce that the Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, and human rights organizations termed the campaign “collective punishment” of a whole population for the crimes of a minority of extremists.&nbsp;

He touched on the “what next?" question with an idea that has rarely looked as much as wishful thinking as it does now. “We must keep pursuing a path so that Israel and the Palestinian people can both live safely, in security, in dignity and in peace.&nbsp;

“For me, that means a two-state solution.”&nbsp;

That means an Israeli state and a Palestinian state living side by side, the Israelis within the borders that made up their land before they occupied Gaza, the West Bank, the Golan Heights and East Jerusalem in the 1967 war against Egypt, Syria and Jordan.&nbsp;&nbsp;

A United Nations Security Council resolution, 242, stipulated, “the withdrawal of Israeli armed forces occupied in the recent conflict.”&nbsp;

Israel withdrew from Gaza in 2005. But 56 years after resolution 242, it still occupies most of the West Bank though several enclaves are administered by the Palestinian Authority.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Israel, which has been receiving $3.8 billion in arms and aid every year for decades, has consistently ignored US&nbsp;policy on the matter of occupied territories – that there should be no Jewish settlements that would stand in the way of establishing a contiguous Palestinian state.&nbsp;

Biden witnessed Israeli disregard for US&nbsp;policy preferences when he visited Jerusalem in March 2010, when he was Barack Obama’s vice president.&nbsp;

The day after his arrival, the Israeli Interior Ministry announced 1,600 new housing units for Jews in East Jerusalem. The media called it a snub but it seemed more like a kick in the groin.&nbsp;

The purpose of Biden’s visit had been to restart on-and-off talks on the two-state concept.&nbsp;

One idea floated by experts since the war with Hamas started was to allow the Palestine Authority to run the government in Gaza. Netanyahu has dismissed that possibility and said Israel would “continue to control security there for an indefinite period” though it would not govern or administer basic services.&nbsp;

He did not explain how that would work. But his remarks, at a press conference, left no doubt that Israel and the United States do not have a shared strategy. Washington has said it thought an Israeli re-occupation of Gaza once the war is over would be a bad idea.&nbsp;&nbsp;

What is the difference between “control security…for an indefinite period” and re-occupation? A question yet to be answered.&nbsp;&nbsp;

So is another: Can you solve one of the world’s most difficult political problems with military means?&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Here is one answer, from Seth Moulton, a Democratic lawmaker and Iraq veteran:&nbsp;“Israel is not going to win the war against Hamas by military means alone.” Even less by military means like bombs that kill too many innocent civilians.&nbsp;&nbsp;

"There are bodies littered in the hospital complex and there is no longer electricity at the morgues," said Al-Shifa hospital director Mohammad Abu Salmiya, adding that 179 bodies had been interred so far.

"We were forced to bury them in a mass grave," he said.

Shortly after Israeli troops entered the hospital, Hamas lashed out at US President Joe Biden and held him "wholly responsible" for the operation.

"We hold the occupation (Israel) and President Biden wholly responsible for the assault on the Al-Shifa medical complex," Hamas said in a statement.

"The adoption by the White House and the Pentagon of the occupation's false claim that the resistance is using the Al-Shifa medical complex for military ends has given the green light to the occupation to commit more massacres against civilians."

Israel has been consistently saying that Hamas was using hospitals in Gaza as hideouts for its fighters as attacking hospitals would be against international law and the militants would get possible protection against military bombardment. Hamas has been consistently denying this but White House' assertion on November 14 appeared to substantiate Israel's claim.
