<p>Needing 143 runs to win in 20 overs, the Warriorz made a good start to their innings with openers Kiran Navgire (12) and Alyssa Healy (33) putting a 42-run stand. Chamari Athapaththu, on debut, then scored 17 runs to help her side to a comfortable position before Harris took the initiative. She scored an unbeaten 60-run knock which included 9 fours and 2 sixes and was given a good helping hand by Shweta Sehrawat (unbeaten 17) as they marched their way to victory.</p>

<p>Tanuja Kanwar bagged two while Kathryn Bryce and Meghna Singh both ended with one wicket each for the Giants.</p>

<p>LSG were sailing after a flying start by their openers KL Rahul and Kyle Mayers as the duo scored 53 in the powerplay itself. Titans' ace bowler Rashid Khan then took out Mayers in the first over after the powerplay for 55 with Mayers scoring 24 off 19 balls.</p>

<p>Rahul then joined forces with Krunal Pandya as the duo added 51 runs for the second wicket and at halfway mark had 80 runs for one wicket. LSG's second wicket was lost on 106 runs in 15th over with Pandya succumbing to Noor Ahmed. Rahul, meanwhile, completed his 50 and also became the fastest Indian to score 7000 runs T20 runs.</p>

<p>To begin with, Dottin admits she is highly disappointed with her exclusion from the Gujarat Giants squad for reasons she claims to be untrue. Explaining what happened from the start, the star all-rounder said she did suffer from minor abdominal pain in December last year, for which she consulted two specialists for a second opinion. Upon meeting them, Dottin was advised to rest until February 13th. Though from the next day onwards, she was cleared to resume training.</p>

This message, according to her, was misconstrued and conveyed to the Gujarat Giants management as ‘she is still experiencing abdominal pain post-session’ – which was not what she indicated.</p>

<p>Following this, the management asked her to get herself locally assessed in Canada, where she stays, despite Dottin receiving medical clearance from her treating surgeon on February 20th.</p>

<p>Five days later, Dottin received an email from the franchise’s physiotherapist asking her to submit a fitness report along with the recent scan by 26/02/2023; if she fails to submit both documents, she might be deemed unfit to participate in the maiden edition of the WPL. Now as February 25th was a Saturday, it made it nearly impossible for her to attain both over the weekend.</p>

<p>However, on Monday, February 27th, she received another email from the Head of Adani Sportsline – who own Giants, stating that the franchise was unable to find an appointment for her at a private hospital; and as a result, they would now seek a replacement for her for the WPL 2023.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, as things stand, Gujarat Giants are currently taking on the UP Warriorz at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.</p>

<p>Thanks to Devine's onslaught, RCB chased down a decent total of 189 runs in mere 15.3 overs and eights wickets left. Although, Sophie got out one short of what would have been the first WPL century, her innings was enough for the entire RCB dugout to bow to her.</p>

<p>Chasing 148, DC lost wickets at regular intervals as only four batters got in double figures while GG bowlers were in full swing. Marizanne Kapp’s run out was the game-changing moment in the contest as she departed for 36 off 29. With no big partnerships in the innings, Arundhati Reddy’s 25-run knock also went in vein as DC ended on the losing side.</p>

<p>Kim Garth, Tanuja Kanwar and Ashleigh Gardner ended with two wickets each while Sneh Rana and Harleen Deol ended with one wicket each.</p>

<p>Blistering fifties from Ashleigh Gardner and Laura Wolvaardt guided Gujarat Giants (GG) to 147/4 against Delhi Capitals (DC) in their Women's Premier League (WPL) match at Brabourne Stadium here on Thursday.</p>

<p>After an early blow, Harleen Deol and Laura Wolvaardt took charge as they gathered singles while slamming boundaries at regular intervals. In the 10th over of the game, Jess Jonassen gave Gujarat another blow as she dismissed well-set batter Harleen Deol for 31 runs.</p>

<p>The right-handed batter Ashleigh Gardner then came out to bat. The Gujarat batters rotated the strike, not allowing the Delhi bowlers to settle down while whacking the loose balls.</p>

<p>Coming to&nbsp;Monday's match, MI-W beat RCB-W by nine-wickets, picking up their second consecutive win and handing Smriti Mandhana-led RCB their second straight loss.</p>

Ltd (Bangalore), JSW GMR Cricket Pvt Ltd (Delhi) and Capri Global Holdings Pvt Ltd. (Lucknow). Whereas the Adani Group bought the Ahmedabad franchise at the WPL teams auction at the bid worth Rs 1,289 crores – that was also the highest. Their Gujarat Giants cricket franchise joins the Gulf Giants in the DP World ILT20 and the Gujarat Giants in the Pro Kabaddi League.</p>
