The injured have been rushed to three hospitals including the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital (RML).

"A magisterial inquiry has been ordered, the district magistrate has been asked to probe the incident. All the hotels in the area will undergo safety checks," said Delhi minister Satyendra Jain.

Delhi Hotel Association Vice President Balan Mani, meanwhile, said, "All norms were followed here; license is issued only after inspection. Mishappening can occur in a house as well, " he added.

A video of the incident showed two people jumping from the fourth floor of the building. According to eyewitnesses, most deaths were caused due to suffocation.

Fire swept through a training facility for Brazil's most popular football club Flamengo Friday, killing at least 10 people, authorities said.

The pre-dawn blaze in Rio de Janeiro hit a building that housed youth-category players aged 14 to 17, firefighters said.&nbsp;

In addition to the deaths, three people were injured in the fire.

The cause was not immediately known.

Globo TV broadcast aerial footage of the fire, which it said had been brought under control after it burned for two hours.

The fire broke out at 5am (Brazil time) in the Vargem Grande district of Rio in a modern facility where the top-flight professional Flamengo squad also trains, the news website G1 said.

The dead were six players and four team staff, the channel Sportv said.

The main team had been due to practice at the same facility later in the morning.

Youth league teams also train at the facility, known as Ninho do Urubu.&nbsp;

Flamengo is the most popular club in football-crazed Brazil.

Distraught relatives rushed to the facility seeking information about loved ones, TV footage showed.

The training camp is in an area of western Rio that was hit by a huge storm Wednesday night. Six people were killed.

At least one person has died after an oil tanker caught fire off Hong Kong on Tuesday, police said, sending a huge cloud of dark smoke billowing into the air.

Twenty-one people have been rescued after those on the vessel either fell or jumped into the sea, according to a police spokesperson, but it is not yet clear if more people are still missing. A number of the victims had suffered burns.

In a picture posted by the Hong Kong Police, the tanker was seen listing sharply with large plumes of black smoke coming from its middle and flames still burning on the deck.

Officers said they received a report of an oil tanker exploding and catching fire&nbsp;in waters south of the outlying Lamma Island.

"I heard several banging and rumbling sounds, like someone with big hands knocking my glass door," a resident of Lamma Island's Mo Tat New Village who gave his name as Shu told AFP.

He added that a smaller banging sound followed about 10 seconds later.

Photos on local news site Apple Daily showed an orange blaze on the ship which was also belching out heavy smoke.

The name on the front of the tanker was Aulac Fortune, which the Hong Kong marine department tracker website showed as arriving at the South Lamma anchorage at 2.58 am Tuesday local time.

The MarineTraffic.com website listed the tanker as registered in Vietnam and leaving the southern Chinese industrial city of Dongguan on Monday.

One dead in oil tanker blaze off Hong Kong

Brian Rice, the head of the California Professional Firefighters, slammed the tweet as "ill-informed, ill-timed and demeaning to those who are suffering as well as the men and women on the front lines."

He said the president's claim that forest policies were mismanaged "is dangerously wrong."

The "Woolsey Fire" engulfed parts of Thousand Oaks, where the community is still shell-shocked after a Marine Corps veteran shot dead 12 people in a country music bar on Wednesday.

The blaze has consumed around 85,500 acres, destroyed at least 177 buildings and was 15 percent contained, Cal Fire said.

A massive fire broke out in Mumbai's&nbsp;Patel Chambers during the wee hours on Saturday which led to a part of the building to collapse. Around 18 fire engines were rushed to the sport immediately, two men were injured in the process.&nbsp;

The level-4 fire has now been brought under control, the fire department said.&nbsp;

"Two firefighters had minor injuries, rest everybody is safe. We deployed 16 fire engines, 11 tankers and 150 fire officers. The situation is under control," fire officer Prabhat Rahangdale told media here.

However, the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.

As per the fire department chief, the building had been vacant for years.&nbsp;

"This building has been vacant for around four years. It seems like a very old building. The staircase inside had collapsed long ago, so there was no way for us to go inside. It is a very congested area, so chances were that the fire could spread to neighbouring buildings as well. We are investigating the cause of the fire," Prabhat added.

Watch: Building collapses as massive fire engulfs Mumbai's Patel Chambers; 2 injured

Over 35 labourers were injured in a major fire that broke out at a building in Surat on Saturday.

The fire which broke out in Shalu Dyeing Mill in the Pandesera area was reportedly due to leakage in an oil after a slab fell on it.

Fire tenders were rushed to the place to douse the fire. The&nbspadministration&nbsphad also deployed five officials to rescue the people.

Among the injured ones, three were in critical conditions. The injured people were admitted to Surat's Civil Hospital.

Similar&nbspincidents occurred&nbspin various&nbspparts of the country including Patna, Mumbai, Hyderabad since Friday.

A godown containing Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinder caught fire in Patna on Saturday. The fire allegedly broke out as a result of a cylinder blast in the premises.

A fire broke out in Hyderabad at a paint godown on Friday evening, following which eight fire tenders were rushed to the spot.

A massive fire also broke out in Mumbai's Patel Chambers during the wee hours on Saturday which led to a part of the building to collapse. Around 18 fire engines were rushed to the sport immediately, two men were injured in the process.&nbsp

35 injured after fire breaks out in Surat building

Flames raced up scaffolding at a Sydney building site on Thursday, in a morning rush-hour fire that prompted the evacuation of nearby offices and caused downtown traffic gridlock.

"The flames really started to leap," lawyer Doug Thompson who photographed the fire from across the street, told Reuters by text.&nbsp"Once it was off, it was away."

Pictures and video circulated online showed bright orange flames, briefly rising six storeys high, consuming plastic covering that wrapped the scaffolds in front of the office building on Macquarie St.

The fire took hold around 8 am (2200 GMT on Wednesday), as office workers were making their way into the city.

The building is being renovated and it was not immediately clear if there were any office or renovation workers inside when the fire took hold. No injuries were reported.

A dozen firetrucks arrived and together with police blocked off the street before firefighters extinguished the blaze.

"The fire is out," fire and rescue service official Norman Buckley told reporters, adding that the cause was being investigated.

Supreme Court, on Tuesday, dismissed Yug Tuli's Special Leave Petition for bail. However, the apex court has granted Tuli the liberty to renew his request for bail after three months.

Yug Tuli, the co-owner of Mojo's Bistro restaurant, is accused in the December 2017 fire incident at Mumbai's Kamala Mills compound in which 14 people were killed.

Tuli was arrested in mid-January and had approached the high court after his bail plea was rejected by the sessions court.

In his plea, Tuli had claimed that the tragedy occurred due to the "mistake" of the staff at "1 Above", the other restaurant that was gutted in the blaze on the intervening night of December 28-29.

Those accused include the owners of the Kamala Mills compound, Mojo Bistro, 1 Above, along with two BMC officials.

Eight members of a family, including four women, were killed after being trapped inside their burning house in Pakistan's largest city on Monday.

Police officials said the eldest son of Gulzara Bibi, who had survived the blaze in Baldia Town area, told them his mother was mentally unstable and set a room on fire after locking the house from inside.

"The mother, her three daughters and four sons were in one room where Gulzara Bibi allegedly first set fire," one official said.

Neighbours of the family which resided in Malang Goth, a low income area in Baldia town, said Bibi was mentally unstable.

A rescue official said Bibi and her three daughters were killed in the fire in the blazing house while three of the sons died while being taken to hospital for treatment.

"One son expired in hospital while two other people were injured in the fire," he added.

Among the injured was the father who was sleeping in the porch and managed to escape the fire.&nbsp

Meanwhile, the pilgrimage yatra to Vaishno Devi cave temple from the new battery car track has been temporarily suspended, however, pilgrims will be able to use the old track to visit the holy site.

"A devastating fire broke out in Trikuta Hills of Mata Vaisnho Devi at new battery car track,'' said Deputy Commissioner Reasi P Ramaswamy G.

The fire affected scores of devotees and pilgrims who were stranded at Katra base camp. Thousands were moved to safety near Himkoti Marg.
