The warrant and related materials, unsealed by a judge on Friday (August 12), revealed that Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents recovered multiple documents, including those marked "top secret" during the search of former President Donald Donald Trump's Florida estate. The US District Court for the Southern District of Florida unsealed the search warrant and property receipt from the search of Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach earlier this week. The investigation accelerated dramatically when Trump revealed on August 8 that the FBI had raided his home. Boxes filled with sensitive documents were removed from the property by the agents during the unprecedented search. The search warrant also revealed that the FBI agents took more than 30 items including more than 20 boxes, binders of photos, a handwritten note and the executive grant of clemency for Trump's ally and longtime adviser Roger Stone. Does Donald Trump's probe involve violations of Espionage Act? All you need to know

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents who raided Donald Trump’s Florida house, Mar-a-Lago, were searching for classified documents on nuclear weapons, The Washington Post reported citing people familiar with the investigation.

Attorney General Merrick Garland on Thursday said that he personally authorised the raid after seeking permission for a search warrant but did not discuss the investigation in great detail.

The Post, quoting officials, didn’t provide further details of the specific information sought by the agents in the raid. They also did not disclose whether the documents were related to weapons from the US or some other country.

They also refused to answer if such documents were recovered as part of the search. But they expressed apprehension that such documents said to be possessed by Trump have the potential to fall into the wrong hands.

But the people closely involved in the raid told The New York Times that the documents were so sensitive and important to national security that the Justice Department had no choice but to try and retrieve them.

The FBI is being increasingly attacked by Conservative politicians seeking an explanation from the Justice Department on what warranted the search.

FBI searched for classified nuclear documents at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home: Report

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has condemned the threats made to the law enforcement in the wake of raids on former US president Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home in Florida.

In a statement on Thursday, the FBI noted that its special agents "put their lives on the line every day to protect the public”.

The statement came hours after Trump and Conservative leaders slammed the FBI as a "corrupt" and "politicised" agency following the Monday raid, in which agents reportedly were searching for classified documents that Trump had retained in violation of rules on official records.

That was followed by a surge of violent threats against the FBI and Justice Department on social media and in conservative chat rooms, AFP reported.

"The threats made recently contribute to an atmosphere where some have, or will, accept violence against law enforcement as appropriate. It is not. Special Agents and their families should never be threatened with violence, including for doing their jobs," the association said.

The FBI has been at the receiving end of the Conservative leaders since the raid, who described it as a state of “civil war”.

Republican Senator Ted Cruz dubbed the FBI "an attack dog” to help the Democrats while Republican Congressman Paul Gosar in a tweet said that "we must destroy the FBI."

Another fervent Trump supporter, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, attacked the agency and spoke of "civil war."

"The FBI has gone rogue and is doing the dirty work of a communist regime," she said on Twitter.

After pegging Onecoin as the Bitcoin Killer, Cryptoqueen Ruja Ignatova is currently on the US most-wanted list. She had asked more and more people to invest in her venture.

Cryptoqueen Ruja Ignatova on the FBI most-wanted list

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has added Ruja Ignatova to its top 10 most wanted list. Ignatova, who is dubbed the "Crypto Queen", raised billions of dollars in a fraudulent virtual currency scheme.

After she disappeared in October 2017, the FBI put up a $100,000 reward for the 42-year-old, who is also a German citizen.

US authorities filed a sealed indictment and warrant for her arrest as she was behind one of the most notorious scams in the frequently treacherous world of cryptocurrencies.

Aiming to replace Bitcoin as the world's leading virtual money, Ignatova launched OneCoin in 2014. According to the FBI, she and her co-conspirators pulled in at least $3.4 billion by tapping a global network to market the coin to friends and family in exchange for their own payouts.

While other cryptocurrencies have independent and secured blockchain-type technology, OneCoin did not have these as it was a classic Ponzi scheme.

Ignatova encouraged early investors to find others and then paid out by receipts from later investors.

FBI Special Agent Ronald Shimko said in a statement "OneCoin claimed to have a private blockchain."

"This is in contrast to other virtual currencies, which have a decentralized and public blockchain. In this case, investors were just asked to trust OneCoin," he said.

As international investigators began to close in on her group, Ignatova disappeared in 2017.

"Investigators believe Ignatova may have been tipped off that she was under investigation by US and international authorities," the FBI said.

"She traveled from Sofia, Bulgaria, to Athens, Greece, on October 25, 2017, and has not been seen since."

Offering a 5,000 euro ($5,200) reward for information on her whereabouts, Europol announced it had added Ignatova to its most-wanted list in May this year.

Amid questions about authenticity, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents seized all 25 works at a Jean-Michel Basquiat exhibit in Florida, the museum which was showcasing the famous works said on Saturday (June 25).

As per reports by Times, the FBI seized the paintings with a warrant based on a 41-page affidavit that said the agency's probe had unearthed "false information related to the alleged prior ownership of the paintings."

The Orlando Museum of Art said the paintings are now in the hands of the law enforcement agency. The museum further noted that it had complied with a request for access to works at the show called "Heroes and Monsters: Jean-Michel Basquiat".

Emilia Bourmas-Fry, who is the museum spokeswoman, said in an email sent to the news agency AFP: "It is important to note that we still have not been led to believe the Museum has been or is the subject of any investigation."

After Friday's confiscation, The New York Times reported that the paintings were done on scavenged pieces of cardboard and were largely unseen until this exhibit began in February.

On the other hand, a report by The Times said that it had learned last month that one of the works was painted on the back of a shipping box that bore instructions to "Align top of FedEx Shipping Label here." The report quoted a designer who worked for Federal Express.

Notably, the instructions were in a typeface that was not used until 1994, six years after the artist died. Jean-Michel Basquiat was an American artist who rose to success during the 1980s as part of the Neo-expressionism movement.

Doubts over authenticity? FBI reportedly seizes Jean-Michel Basquiat paintings from museum

The Democratic Alliance, South Africa's second largest political party, said on Tuesday that they have written to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to investigate President Cyril Ramphosa for alleged money laundering.

"Specifically, we have requested that the FBI consider investigating the source of the funds and whether the funds were brought into South Africa legitimately and declared to the appropriate authorities," John Steenhuisen, leader of the party, said.

This comes after former State Security Agency boss Arthur Fraser opened a criminal case against the President, alleging him of corruption, money laundering and kidnapping, claiming that Ramaphosa concealed a robbery in which millions of dollars were stolen from his Phala Phala farm in February 2020.

"We have recommended that the ledgers or journals which would have recorded the alleged sale of wild game at auction be requested from the president, to determine the identities of those involved in the suspicious cash transactions," Steenhuisen added.

Brookings Institution think-tank placed its president Retired Marine General John Allen on administrative leave amid FBI probing his role in an illegal lobbying campaign on behalf of Qatar.

The latest move comes after the FBI recently seized Allen’s electronic data as part of the probe to find whether the retired four-star general helped Qatar influence US policy in the 2017 diplomatic crisis which erupted between the monarchy and its neighbours, AP news agency reported citing new court filings.

Allen has not been charged with any crimes and had previously denied any wrongdoing.

In an email Wednesday, Brookings told staffers that the Washington-based think tank is not under any investigation and that institution’s executive vice president, Ted Gayer, will serve as the acting president.

“We have every confidence in the Brookings team’s ability to remain focused on delivering quality, independence, and impact,” AP quoted the email as saying.

The FBI in the affidavit has claimed to have found “substantial evidence” that Allen knowingly broke a foreign lobbying law and made false statements and withheld “incriminating” documents. The US federal agency has now sought search a warrant.

In the affidavit, it has been claimed that the Brookings Institution’s chief travelled to Qatar and met with the country’s top officials to offer them advice on how to influence US policy, as well as promote Qatar’s point of view to top White House officials and members of Congress.

Allen, who was a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution prior to becoming president, used his official email account at the think tank for some of his Qatar-related communications, the affidavit says.

According to reports, the US Federal Bureau of Investigation(FBI) had commissioned a scientific analysis to find out gold buried below the surface in Pennsylvania.

The FBI had reportedly got a warrant to seize the gold if it was found by the geophysicist as testing hinted at nine tons of mass with density which seemed like gold.

Payton Gendron, the 18-year-old ''racist'' shooter who killed 10 people grocery store in Buffalo, specifically targeted a neighbourhood where predominantly African American people live.

Joseph Gramaglia, the police commissioner for the US city in western New York said that Genrdon drove more than 200 miles (322 kilometres) from his hometown of Conklin to carry out the attack which shows that it was preplanned.

He was wielding an AR-15 assault rifle and wearing a heavy body armor during the attack on the Tops Friendly Market which he livestreamed on Twitch.

According to Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown, Genrdon did a "reconnaissance" on the surrounding area and arrived a day in advance with the intent of killing as many Black people as possible.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has classified the mass shooting incident as a ''hate crime''.

Calling Genrdon "pure evil", Gramaglia said that he has been arraigned on a single count of first-degree murder and held without bail.

Expressing his condolences to the families of the victims of the Buffalo shooting, US President Joe Biden said he is receiving regular updates on the incident.

Buffalo mass shooting: 'Racist' shooter specifically targeted African American neighbourhood

A brag about rioting to an Uber driver has led to arrest of a Capitol rioter by FBI in the US. Capitol Hill riots on January 6, 2021 were perpetrated by supporters of US President Donald Trump. Jerry Braun, one of the rioters, took an Uber to go home after the violence on the day. He had an eye-injury caused due to the scuffles during the rioting.

The driver noticed the injury and asked about it and the general mayhem on Capitol Hill.

“Well it started around, right when I got there. I tore down the barricades,” Braun bragged.

The conversation was recorded on the camera the taxi driver had installed inside the vehicle. The driver asked Braun why he tore down the barricades.

“Well, because, so we could get to the Capitol,” Braun replied.

“Well, how’d that work out for ya?” asked the driver

“Well, it looks like, uh, Biden’s gonna be our president,” said Braun. The conversation from the recording was reported by The Guardian.

The recording and tip-off from the Uber driver sent the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) on a 15-month investigation.

Braun got off the vehicle at Holiday Inn in Arlington, Virginia. Authorities found that he had checked in on January 5 and checked out after two days. Authorities got his phone number and address from the inn. Braun was from South El Monte, California.

Just getting Braun's whereabouts may not have been fully enough to build a watertight case against him. Guardian reported that to ascertain whether he really was Jerry Braun, FBI compared his images from the Uber taxi to those with California state authorities. It was a match.

Investigators then started to sift through the footage of the Capitol Hill riots. They found Braun scuffling with people, even raising a wooden plank againsy a security official. He also appeared to assault a person who was wearing a helmet with letters 'Press' on it.

Braun was arrested earlier this month on April 12.
