The affidavit said that the FBI were looking to conduct the search after completing a number of interviews with witnesses and believed that the former US president was in possession of documents which contained “national defense information” and proof of “obstruction of justice”.

According to The Washington Post, the affidavit also said that 184 documents found in the boxes had “classification markings”. Among the documents mentioned in the affidavit, 67 of them were marked “CONFIDENTIAL,” 92 marked “SECRET,” and remaining 25 were marked as “TOP SECRET”.

“Top Secret” refers to the highest level of secrecy when it comes to government documents and it mostly refers to content which is crucial to national security or a similar important topic.

The affidavit claimed that “the documents could have involved sensitive matters such as confidential human sources, information that may not be released in any form to foreign governments and intelligence information derived from the monitoring of foreign communications signals”.

“Secret” is the second highest level of classification and although these are crucial documents, the number of people who have access to them is considerably greater in number. On occasions, these documents can also contain information about confidential technological advancements.

Meanwhile, Inna's former husband Sergey Golubev, a Russian-born US citizen, who married her in 2011, said that they only got married so she could obtain US residence and stay in the country.&nbsp;

"At some point, she needed a green card,"&nbsp;Golubev was quoted as saying by&nbsp;Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

US lawmakers ask social media firms to give data about online threats after FBI raided Trump's home

In what comes as a small victory for Donald Trump and his legion of Republican supporters, a Florida federal judge on Thursday ordered that portions of the affidavit that the FBI used to secure&nbsp;a search warrant against the former US president can be made public, much to the chagrin of the department of justice (DOJ).

Judge Bruce Reinhart in his observation after the hearing said,&nbsp;“I believe, at least on my initial careful review of the affidavit, that there are portions that could be presumptively unsealed.”

The&nbsp;DOJ lawyers have time till next Thursday i.e., seven days to submit the&nbsp;affidavit with the redacted portions. Moreover, the judge added that the justice department will be allowed to appeal if it doesn't agree with his 'redacted' affidavit idea.&nbsp;

Meanwhile, DOJ chief Jay Bratt during the hearing stated that the release of the affidavit could harm the witnesses.

“The government is very concerned about the safety of the witnesses in these cases and the impact of all the attention on these witnesses on other witnesses,” Bratt told the judge.&nbsp;

Who has filed the motion?

It is pertinent to note that&nbsp;New York Times, CNN, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal and The&nbsp;Associated Press are among the outlets that have demanded the release of the affidavit.

However, curiously enough, despite blaming the FBI and DOJ for launching a witch hunt against him, neither Trump nor his lawyers have filed any motion for the unsealing of the affidavit.&nbsp;

Why is US DOJ not unsealing the affidavit?

As reported by WION, on Monday, the justice department refused to unseal the affidavit, stating it would likely affect the investigation process.

"If disclosed, the affidavit would serve as a roadmap to the government's ongoing investigation, providing specific details about its direction and likely course, in a manner that is highly likely to compromise future investigative steps," the DoJ lawyers wrote in the filing.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents who raided Donald Trump’s Florida house, Mar-a-Lago, were searching for classified documents on nuclear weapons, The Washington Post reported citing people familiar with the investigation.

Attorney General Merrick Garland on Thursday said that he personally authorised the raid after seeking permission for a search warrant but did not discuss the investigation in great detail.

The Post, quoting officials, didn’t provide further details of the specific information sought by the agents in the raid. They also did not disclose whether the documents were related to weapons from the US or some other country.

They also refused to answer if such documents were recovered as part of the search. But they expressed apprehension that such documents said to be possessed by Trump have the potential to fall into the wrong hands.

But the people closely involved in the raid told The New York Times that the documents were so sensitive and important to national security that the Justice Department had no choice but to try and retrieve them.

The FBI is being increasingly attacked by Conservative politicians seeking an explanation from the Justice Department on what warranted the search.

FBI searched for classified nuclear documents at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home: Report

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has condemned the threats made to the law enforcement in the wake of raids on former US president Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home in Florida.

In a statement on Thursday, the FBI noted that its special agents "put their lives on the line every day to protect the public”.

The statement came hours after Trump and Conservative leaders slammed the FBI as a "corrupt" and "politicised" agency following the Monday raid, in which agents reportedly were searching for classified documents that Trump had retained in violation of rules on official records.

That was followed by a surge of violent threats against the FBI and Justice Department on social media and in conservative chat rooms, AFP reported.

"The threats made recently contribute to an atmosphere where some have, or will, accept violence against law enforcement as appropriate. It is not. Special Agents and their families should never be threatened with violence, including for doing their jobs," the association said.

The FBI has been at the receiving end of the Conservative leaders since the raid, who described it as a state of “civil war”.

Republican Senator Ted Cruz dubbed the FBI "an attack dog” to help the Democrats while Republican Congressman Paul Gosar in a tweet said that "we must destroy the FBI."

Another fervent Trump supporter, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, attacked the agency and spoke of "civil war."

"The FBI has gone rogue and is doing the dirty work of a communist regime," she said on Twitter.

Meanwhile, an armed man was shot on early morning when he tried to breach the FBI headquarters office in the US state of Ohio&nbsp;

"Upon the activation of an alarm and a response by armed FBI special agents, the subject fled," the FBI said in a statement.

A lockdown has been enforced within a one-mile radius of the standoff scene. Moreover, the two highways near the area have been closed as well to not allow the suspect any chance to escape.&nbsp;

According to police, the public has been instructed to stay indoors and not venture outside till the situation is resolved. Meanwhile,&nbsp;Ohio State Highway Patrol and local law enforcement partners are trying to resolve the 'critical incident', according to an FBI statement.&nbsp;

It is believed that the suspect is&nbsp;armed with an AR15-style rifle and also had a nail gun with him when he attempted the break-in.&nbsp;

The Cincinnati FBI office took to its official Twitter handle to confirm the news about the rogue element attempting to breach the building.&nbsp;
