We also believed that having Elon as a fiduciary of the company where he, like all board members, has to act in the best interests of the company and all our shareholders, was the best path forward. The board offered him a seat.”</p>

<p>“We announced on Tuesday that Elon would be appointed to the Board contingent on a background check and formal acceptance. Elon's appointment to the board was to become officially effective 4/9, but Elon shared that same morning that he will no longer be joining the board. I believe this is for the best. <p>Musk has 81 million Twitter followers. This makes him one of the most popular figures on the platform rivaling pop stars like Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga.</p>

<p>In a recent tweet he said, "Price should probably be ~$2/month, but paid 12 months up front &amp; account doesn't get checkmark for 60 days (watch for credit card chargebacks) &amp; suspended with no refund if used for scam/spam."</p>

<p>Within minutes, the poll drew more than two million responses with about 73.6 per cent voting yes.</p>

<p>This came after questioning Twitter's commitment to free speech and asking the users if a new platform was needed.</p>

<p>"Given that Twitter serves as the de facto public town square, failing to adhere to free speech principles fundamentally undermines democracy. What should be done?" Musk said, adding, "Is a new platform needed?"</p>

<p>There has always been a demand for an edit button on Twitter. On April 1, the company tweeted that it was working on an edit button.</p>

<p>But many were confused about whether the social media company was playing a prank on April Fool’s Day.</p>

<p>"The vision we had then, to accelerate humanity’s expansion into space by making in-space resources available on-demand and turning the earth into a more vibrant and sustainable place in the process, remains steadfast even today," the statement added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Meanwhile, his competitor Elon Musk's SpaceX is targeting next week to fly three tycoons and a former astronaut to the International Space Station on the Axiom-1 mission.</p>

<p>US President Joe Biden has proposed to introduce a new minimum income tax targeting the billionaires as part of the 2023 budget plan, according to local media reports.</p>

<p>Called the "Billionaire Minimum Income Tax", the Biden administration plans to levy 20 per cent on households worth more than $100 million, including unrealized investment income, CNN quoted the White House.</p>
