<p>Twitter's inventor of the hashtags that are used to categorise messages has quit the platform, claiming Elon Musk&nbsp;mismanaged it.&nbsp;Following the loss of his verification badge, Chris Messina, who in 2007 suggested Twitter begin using hashtags to organise tweets by topic or event, said goodbye to the platform this weekend.</p>

<p>Twitter has also begun the process of deleting the legacy blue ticks&nbsp;this month, and users who want&nbsp;to retain&nbsp;them would have to start paying $8 per month for a Twitter Blue subscription.</p>

<p>"My choice isn't about the badge; it's about everything that lead up to the badge and how it has been handled. Whatever Twitter was before deserved more dignity and consideration than it's received in the last six months," Messina tweeted, as reported by The Verge.&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>Birth of the hashtag</strong></h2>

<p>In 2007, Messina proposed the concept of hashtags, which allowed users to look up topics by using the hash sign (#). On a number of social media sites, including Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, the concept gained considerable traction. The hashtag allows quick subject searches for users and helps in extending the reach of posts. Trending hashtags are now shown in real time in a separate section on Twitter.</p>

<p>Additionally, hashtags can be used to filter out&nbsp;the most popular, most recent, photographs, and videos relating to a specific topic.</p>

<p>Elon Musk was not very 'particulate' about the success of the mission, and a Texas city is bearing the fallout. Port Isabel, a Texas city, is bearing the fallout of the billionaire's Starship rocket launch. Shares of electric vehicle maker Tesla are down more than 4%. The company's net income fell more than 24% year-on-year after Elon Musk said the company would prioritise volume growth over profits during recessionary times.

<p>Billionaire Elon Musk said on Monday (April 17) that he will launch an artificial intelligence (AI) platform, in an apparent challenge to ChatGPT. In an interview with Fox News, Musk said "I'm going to start something which I call 'TruthGPT,' or a maximum truth-seeking AI that tries to understand the nature of the universe." Musk reasoned that AI would see people as an interesting part of the universe and decide not to "annihilate humans."&nbsp;</p>

<p>"And I think this might be the best path to safety, in the sense that an AI that cares about understanding the universe, it is unlikely to annihilate humans because we are an interesting part of the universe," Musk, the CEO of Twitter and Tesla said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Musk said on Monday that AI is more dangerous than "mismanaged aircraft design or production maintenance or bad car production in the sense that is, it has the potential, however, small one would regard that probability, it's not trivial, it has the potential of civilisational destruction."</p>

<p>Musk's announcement to launch an AI platform comes weeks after he, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, prominent scientists and other tech industry notables called for a six-month pause to the AI race. In an open letter on March 29, signed by Musk and others, warned that AI systems with “human-competitive intelligence can pose profound risks to society and humanity” — from flooding the internet with disinformation and automating away jobs to more catastrophic future risks out of the realms of science fiction."&nbsp;</p>

<p>Following the news of this letter, Musk registered a firm named X.AI Corp, incorporated in Nevada, as per a state filing. The firm listed Musk as the sole director and Jared Birchall, the managing director of Musk's family office, as secretary.</p>

<p>Previously too, Musk has warned about the dangers of AI. In March, he said, "AI stresses me out."</p>

<p>He co-founded OpenAI in 2015 but stepped down from the company's board three years later. In 2019, Musk tweeted he left OpenAI because he had to focus on Tesla and SpaceX.</p>

Billionaire Elon Musk said on Monday (April 17) that he will launch an artificial intelligence (AI) platform, in an apparent challenge to ChatGPT. In an interview with Fox News, Musk said "I'm going to start something which I call 'TruthGPT,' or a maximum truth-seeking AI that tries to understand the nature of the universe." Musk reasoned that AI would see people as an interesting part of the universe and decide not to "annihilate humans." "And I think this might be the best path to safety, in the sense that an AI that cares about understanding the universe, it is unlikely to annihilate humans because we are an interesting part of the universe," Musk, the CEO of Twitter and Tesla said. ALSO READ | Explained: Why Musk, Apple co-founder Wozniak, others seek six-month-pause to AI race Musk said on Monday that AI is more dangerous than "mismanaged aircraft design or production maintenance or bad car production in the sense that is, it has the potential, however, small one would regard that probability, it's not trivial, it has the potential of civilisational destruction." Musk's announcement to launch an AI platform comes weeks after he, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, prominent scientists and other tech industry notables called for a six-month pause to the AI race. In an open letter on March 29, signed by Musk and others, warned that AI systems with “human-competitive intelligence can pose profound risks to society and humanity” — from flooding the internet with disinformation and automating away jobs to more catastrophic future risks out of the realms of science fiction." Following the news of this letter, Musk registered a firm named X.AI Corp, incorporated in Nevada, as per a state filing. The firm listed Musk as the sole director and Jared Birchall, the managing director of Musk's family office, as secretary. Previously too, Musk has warned about the dangers of AI. In March, he said, "AI stresses me out." He co-founded OpenAI in 2015 but stepped down from the company's board three years later. In 2019, Musk tweeted he left OpenAI because he had to focus on Tesla and SpaceX. WATCH WION LIVE HERE You can now write for wionews.com and be a part of the community. Elon Musk to launch his AI platform 'TruthGPT'

Elon Musk is again sounding warning bells on the dangers of artificial intelligence to humanity. In an apparent challenge to ChatGPT, the popular chatbot from OpenAI, the Twitter owner said he will launch a platform that he calls TruthGPT. Recently, Elon Musk, A-I experts and industry executives called for a six-month pause in developing systems more powerful than Open-AI's newly-launched GPT-4. Musk said TruthGPT will be a maximum truth-seeking A-I that tries to understand the nature of the universe. The idea, Musk said, is that an A-I that wants to understand humanity is less likely to destroy it. Last month, Musk registered a firm named X-AI Corp, incorporated in Nevada. The firm listed musk as the sole director and Jared Birchall, the managing director of Musk's family office, as a secretary. He tweeted over the weekend that he had met Barack Obama when he was US President and told him that Washington needed to encourage AI regulation.

Musk's fledgling AI project at Twitter was said in the Insider report to involve training a language model to create written content.</p>
