<h2><strong>Scope of recall</strong></h2>

<p>The recall encompasses a significant number of Tesla vehicles sold over a 12-year period, from 2012 to 2024. Approximately 2.19 million electric vehicles fall under the scope of this recall, making it the largest in Tesla's history.</p>

<p>The company plans to address the issue through an over-the-air software fix, demonstrating its commitment to resolving the problem efficiently.</p>

<p>As of now, Tesla has not provided an official statement in response to the recall. However, the automaker has outlined its strategy to address the problem by implementing an over-the-air software fix, said the Wall Street Journal report.</p>

<p>This recall adds to a series of safety challenges faced by Tesla. In December, the company initiated a recall of around two million vehicles to update the Autopilot software and incorporate new safeguards against driver misuse.</p>

<p>Subsequently, numerous complaints were lodged with US&nbsp;auto-safety regulators, particularly regarding excessive warnings triggered by routine tasks, leading to concerns about the effectiveness of the software update.</p>

After Judge cancels $56bn Tesla pay package, Musk warns 'never incorporate' companies in Delaware

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has suffered a setback after a court in U.S. struck down his record-breaking $56 billion pay package on Tuesday. The judges called his compensation plan "an unfathomable sum" that was unfair to the shareholders. The ruling came five years after lawsuit was filed criticizing the board for wasting corporate assets that they say led to Musk's unjust enrichment.

Elon Musk's Starlink is reportedly on the brink of securing regulatory approval to roll out its space-based broadband services in India. According to initial reports, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has sought clarification from Starlink about its shareholding pattern. The response from Starlink has reportedly addressed these queries. Also read | Explained | What is Starlink, the ambitious global internet service of Elon Musk? Sources close to the matter cited by the Economic Times suggest that Starlink's response has set the stage for the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) to potentially issue a Letter of Intent (LoI) within the next few days, or at the latest, by the end of the current month. The LoI is seen as a crucial step towards formalising Starlink's entry into the Indian market. What next? As per industry insiders, cited by financial news publications, the Indian Department of Telecommunications is actively engaged in drafting a comprehensive note for the approval process. This note is anticipated to be presented to Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Minister of Communications, and Neeraj Mittal, the secretary of the telecommunications department, for their review and approval. Upon receiving the green light from both Vaishnaw and Mittal, the Satellite Communications Wing (SCW) within the telecommunications department will grant the necessary permissions for SpaceX, the company behind Starlink, to commence operations within India. SpaceX and Tesla are concerned over Elon Musk's behaviour regarding his drug usage. According to various reports, senior officials at Musk's companies fear that this type of behaviour could harm his company and future business.

SpaceX and Tesla officials upset over Elon Musk's alleged drug use

<p>Elon Musk has responded to media reports claiming that the billionaire had been observed taking drugs by people around him and that it had affected his work. Musk took to his social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) and said "not even trace quantities" of drugs were found in his system.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Tesla founder was&nbsp;responding to an excerpt from the <em>Wall Street Journal </em>report where the publication questioned Musk's behaviour after smoking marijuana at Joe Rogan's popular podcast show in 2018. The report added that Musk's conduct had resulted in employees at&nbsp;SpaceX being randomly tested for drugs.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"After that one puff with Rogan, I agreed, at NASA’s request, to do 3 years of random drug testing. Not even trace quantities were found of any drugs or alcohol," said Musk.</p>

Musk took to his social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) and said "not even trace quantities" of drugs were found in his system. The Tesla founder was responding to an excerpt from the Wall Street Journal report where the publication questioned Musk's behaviour after smoking marijuana at Joe Rogan's popular podcast show in 2018. The report added that Musk's conduct had resulted in employees at SpaceX being randomly tested for drugs. "After that one puff with Rogan, I agreed, at NASA’s request, to do 3 years of random drug testing. Not even trace quantities were found of any drugs or alcohol," said Musk. The Israel Ministry is poised to grant approval for Elon Musk's Starlink satellite internet service this week, with the intention to kickstart limited operations in the country, according to a communication ministry official cited by Bloomberg. Initially, sales will be limited to official bodies, and Starlink has committed not to provide access to humanitarian organisations in the Gaza Strip without Israel's defence establishment approval, as stated by Elad Malka, the deputy director of the ministry, in an interview. Elon Musk's Starlink, operated by SpaceX, has been in discussions with Israeli authorities regarding its operations, aiming to support wartime communications along Israel's southern and northern borders. In November, Musk faced criticism for suggesting Starlink's potential service in Gaza but later clarified that activation would only occur with the approval of the US and Israel governments. The Israeli government, fast-tracking the Starlink license, sees it as a strategic move amid its ongoing conflict with Hamas. <p>Elon Musk and his aerospace company SpaceX are regularly in news for their Starlink constellation of satellites, literally thousands of which are in orbit around the Earth right now. But January 2, 2024 marked the start of a new chapter for the company as it launched its first satellites that will facilitate 'Direct-to-cell' capability. Read on to know more.</p>

<p>The first six satellites facilitating this capability were launched on at 10:44 pm EST on January 2. The satellites have been deployed, and&nbsp;when they gradually become fully operational over the years 2024-2025, they will act as 'cell-phone towers in the sky' which will be a major step towards Starlink's plan to make connectivity available 'wherever you see the sky'.</p>

<p>Cell phones with LTE capability will be able to make use of the Direct to Cell technology. A signal directly from a satellite would mean that chances of you getting a network 'everywhere' increase considerably.</p>
