<p>Elon Musk's social media platform X will file documents requested by Brazil's Supreme Court and request by this Monday that the service be restored in the country, two people familiar with the situation said.</p>

<p>Brazil had blocked access to the platform formerly known as Twitter since the end of August following an order by Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes. The judge and the US technology firm have been at loggerheads over his investigation of "digital militias" he has accused of spreading hate messages in Brazil.</p>

<p>The dispute led X to close its offices in the country and let go of employees, including its legal agent, in breach of domestic law.</p>

<p>According to sources familiar with X's plans, the platform could be opened up to Brazilians as soon as next week after the company provides documents requested by the court proving it now has a legal representative in the country.</p>

<p>X and the Brazilian Supreme Court did not immediately respond to requests for comment.</p>

<p>In what appears to be a compromise last week, X lawyers announced that the company has named its legal representative in Brazil, as the Supreme Court had ordered, but the company did not initially provide documents that would prove the appointee was formally able to respond on behalf of the company. Sources say the firm expects the new set of documents sent to solve the issue.</p>

<p>The sources said X also started to comply with all the other demands of the court - blocking profiles of people allegedly spreading fake news and paying an 18 million reais ($3 million) fine via accounts of Musk's Starlink.</p>

<p>The social media firm is keen to smooth over the relationship with Moraes and operate like any other tech company in the country, said one of the sources.</p>
